"So..." Diya’s eyelashes trembled slightly, and she gathered the courage to look up at Ash, "what do you think of us four sisters?"

The reason Diya insisted on revealing the secret of the four sisters wasn’t because she wanted to compete with her sisters for a man, but to use their numbers to break Ash’s defenses.

This was a rare opportunity to openly have four girlfriends, each with different styles yet identical appearances. Diya couldn’t believe Ash wouldn’t be moved!

"Very good." Ash laughed, "Anything I delegate to you, you handle beautifully. One of my greatest achievements in these three years is recruiting you, or should I say, you four sisters into our company. But you should have told me earlier. The company isn’t mine, so while I can’t give you four separate salaries, two salaries should be fine."

"Really? That’s wonderful!" Upon hearing about the raise, Diya excitedly hugged Ash, hopping around. Just as Ash thought he had successfully brushed it off, he found a pair of hands tightly hugging his waist.

"But that’s not what I was asking." Diya buried her head on Ash’s back, her soft voice carrying a hint of a girl’s stubbornness, "If you’re too indirect, I might not understand."

"Even if it’s not the answer you were hoping for?"

"Even if it’s not the answer I was hoping for!"

Ash scratched his head and turned around to look at Diya.

Actually, Diya is a year older than Sonia, Felix, and Freyja, but Ash always felt that she was still a child, spoiled, capricious, naïve, romantic, with a foolish clarity in her eyes.

People like Freyja, Hanna, Tamasi, and Vishi, who are more mature and worldly, wouldn’t insistently question like this. Only Diya would stubbornly cling on, like a crying child praying for a miracle.

"I’m sorry."

Diya’s body trembled slightly, but she still stared at Ash, her eyes welling up with tears that soon blurred her vision, turning teary-eyed. Ash wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes and whispered in her ear, "I like you too."

What?

Diya was stunned, quickly rubbed her eyes, and grabbed his sleeve, "What did you just say?"

"I like you too."

"Say it again."

"Well, maybe I don’t just like you." Ash pondered, "Maybe I like you four sisters."

"No!" Diya said angrily, "Go back to the previous sentence!"

"Too late."

"Then why did you apologize?"

"Because..." Ash gave her a light kiss on the cheek and ruffled her hair, "This is all I can offer you."

Diya froze, dumbly watching Ash leave with gifts, finally sitting softly on the chair, burying her head on the table.

She still had a lot to say, and she could catch up with Ash now, just like she stubbornly questioned earlier... but she didn’t.

Ash’s kiss felt like a gentle curse, a bad feeling somewhere between fatigue and pain spreading through Diya’s body, making her only want to hide in a dark world or go home and curl up under a blanket.

Perhaps she realized that if she continued to question, even this bit of gentleness might be lost. The world isn’t full of satisfaction, and she isn’t a child anymore.

"So you failed as well, huh."

Diya lifted her head and saw Weiser coming in, sitting across from her, resting her chin on her hand with a mischievous smile. Diya pulled out a tissue to wipe her nose, and asked crossly, "What are you here for?"

"I wanted to discuss some details of tomorrow’s project meeting with you," Weiser laughed, "I didn’t expect to accidentally hear someone’s confession."

"Who confessed! I didn’t confess, I was just giving chocolates."

"I wasn’t talking about you, I meant Ash," Weiser laughed, "He confessed to you, are you happy?"

Diya couldn’t hold it anymore, she collapsed onto the table, sobbing, "Why, why does he like me but won’t accept me! So many people outside who don’t like each other can be together, why can’t we who like each other!"

"Because the person he likes isn’t just you," Weiser said calmly, "So the person he marries will only be me."

Diya stopped crying, looking at her in a daze, with many questions immediately popping into her mind: Ash likes more than just me? Who else does he like? How can he like me and like others? Why is Weiser so confident...

"Consider it compensation for my eavesdropping earlier. You can also come and eavesdrop on how I win over Ash," Weiser said with a charming smile, stepping out of Diya’s office in her high-heeled boots.

Diya sniffed, cleaned her face, and quickly went over, only to find everyone already outside Ash’s office—Sonia, Vishi, Hanna, Felix, Tamasi, Freyja, Siflin—they saw Diya coming and even made space for a good eavesdropping spot.

"Why are you all here?"

"Weiser told us she’s going to win over Ash now."

"It’s not just stabbing in the heart, but also in the mind."

"She waited for all of us to confess before showing her victorious stance in this game."

"Damn, she’s so sure Ash won’t accept us!?"

"I refuse to believe Ash will accept her!"

"Huh?" Sonia asked surprised, "You all confessed to Ash?"

The crowd blinked but before they could answer, the sound coming from the office captured everyone’s attention.
