Chapter 213: Chapter 213 Daisy signed Divorce papers

Daisy read through the divorce document carefully, her eyes moving slowly over every section.

She wanted to understand everything before signing anything, especially now that her entire life seemed to be changing within a single morning. Her fingers traced the edge of each page as she read, her expression focused and serious.

Then her gaze stopped.

Her eyes widened slightly when she reached the section concerning alimony. The numbers were substantial, far more than she had expected. Her brows drew together and her lips pressed into a thin line.

I don’t want this.

She immediately shook her head. Her hands moved in a small gesture toward Alessio, quick and subtle, meant only for him.

He understood her almost instantly. His green eyes flickered toward her hands, then back to her face. He leaned slightly closer, lowering his head toward her. His voice dropped to a whisper, low and deep, meant only for her ears.

"Don’t reject it."

Daisy blinked.

His face was suddenly much closer than she expected. Close enough that she could see the faint lines around his eyes, the way his dark lashes framed his green irises. Close enough that she could feel the warmth radiating from his skin.

"After the divorce, you can’t stay with Cedric anymore. You’ll have your own expenses and this could help you while you figure things out. Think about your situation before you make a decision."

His voice was low and deep, deliberately quiet enough that only she could hear him. The words rumbled in his chest and she could feel the vibration of them in the small space between them.

Daisy’s eyes flickered. She hadn’t expected him to come this close just to explain it to her. His warm breath brushed softly against her ear as he spoke. A shiver ran down her spine and warmth immediately crept up the side of her face.

Her ear slowly turned red. The color spread across her cheek and she could feel the heat radiating from her skin.

Alessio noticed the change but didn’t seem to understand why. His brow furrowed slightly and he studied her face with quiet confusion. He simply continued looking at the document, his attention shifting back to the papers.

"You don’t have to feel guilty about accepting it," he added softly. His voice was gentle, almost tender. "It’s part of the divorce settlement. You’re not asking him for a favor."

Daisy looked down at the paper again. She hesitated, her fingers hovering over the alimony section.

Alessio glanced at her. His eyes were patient and calm. "You deserve to have something that gives you security after leaving this marriage."

Daisy’s fingers slowly curled against her lap. She looked at him again.

His face was still close. His expression was completely serious, as though he was only concerned about making sure she didn’t make a decision that would leave her struggling later. There was no hidden agenda in his eyes, no ulterior motive. Just genuine concern.

Daisy quickly looked away. Her cheeks had become warm now too. The blush spread from her ears to her face, coloring her skin a soft pink.

Alessio finally noticed. His eyebrows lifted slightly. "Are you alright?"

Daisy nodded far too quickly. Her movements were jerky, almost frantic.

He stared at her for a moment. Then his gaze moved toward her noticeably cute red ear. A faint smile appeared at the corner of his lips and his eyes gleamed with quiet amusement.

But he wisely said nothing. Instead, he pointed toward the document. "Just think about it carefully."

Daisy nodded again. This time, she looked at the alimony section with a little more consideration. Her eyes scanned the numbers, the terms and the conditions. She still wasn’t completely comfortable accepting it. But she understood what Alessio was trying to tell her.

He wasn’t encouraging her to take advantage of Cedric. He was simply making sure that after everything was over, she wouldn’t be left without financial security. He was protecting her, in his own quiet way, and somehow, that thought made her heart feel warm.

Finally, after thinking it over for a few moments, Daisy looked at Alessio and gave a small gesture to show that she understood.

She was okay with it.

She picked up the pen. There was no more hesitation this time.

Daisy carefully signed her name on the document. Her handwriting was neat and precise, the letters flowing smoothly across the page. She didn’t hesitate or shake while signing, despite the fact that she was officially ending a marriage that had lasted three years.

The moment her pen left the paper, Cedric’s chest tightened painfully.

It felt as though someone had driven a knife straight through his heart.

He stared at her signature. The ink was still fresh, still glistening under the light.

That was it. She had signed. She really had agreed to leave him.

His fingers slowly curled against his knee and his jaw tightened as he tried to keep his expression under control. He could feel the eyes of everyone in the room on him.

He couldn’t show weakness. He couldn’t show pain.

He had spent the entire morning telling himself that this was what he wanted. That the marriage had never been what either of them truly wanted. That ending it would make everything easier. That once the papers were signed, he would be free.

Yet seeing Daisy sign the paper so calmly made something inside him ache.

She hadn’t even hesitated. She hadn’t looked at him. She hadn’t cried. She had simply signed and moved on. As if the past three years meant nothing. As if he meant nothing.

Cedric’s gaze slowly shifted toward her face. Daisy was looking at the document, her expression surprisingly peaceful. There was no sadness in her eyes, no regret. Just quiet acceptance.

His chest tightened even more. His breathing became shallow and his hands clenched into fists at his sides.

She really doesn’t want me anymore.

The thought struck him like a physical blow. It was one thing to hear her say she wanted a divorce. It was another thing entirely to watch her sign the papers without a single tear, without a single glance in his direction.

Beside her, Alessio noticed Cedric’s expression. His green eyes moved from the document to Cedric’s face, and the corner of his lips slowly curved upward. He simply couldn’t help feeling a quiet sense of satisfaction.

He glanced at Cedric again. The usually arrogant man looked completely miserable. His face was pale, his jaw was tight and his eyes were fixed on Daisy with an expression that Alessio could only describe as regret.

Alessio’s eyes narrowed slightly with amusement. Oh... how amazing his expression is.
