Lycan King's Regret: Punished The Wrong Daughter
Chapter 56- The Fight
Jasmine:
I had been waiting for this moment since morning. Ever since I found out Lucien had marked her... ever since I learned that he had started spending more time with her, I hadn’t been able to think straight.
A wolfless slave had no right to stand beside him. I don’t know what he was thinking when he marked her. This was just a bullshit excuse that he didn’t want her to run off.
And then yesterday there was that mocking smile she had given me. I felt like she was trying to show me her arrogant side. Her eyes were challenging me. How could she be this confident with her weak body?
Somehow, that made it even worse. I wanted to wipe that smile off her face.
I was on a call with my mom just a few hours ago. I had told her about Arabella accepting my challenge.
As expected, she had laughed.
"Oh, sweetheart. This slave sounds like an arrogant brat, while you? You are my Alpha girl," she had said proudly, "If something belongs to you and no one is willing to hand it over..."
"... you snatch it!" I had finished for her.
"Exactly, sweetheart."
I could almost picture her smiling on the other end of the call, "No one remembers the woman who waited. They remember the one who fought for what was hers. Once I made the same mistake, Jasmine. Don’t be me."
I could still hear the pain in her voice.
"Lucien was always mine, Mom," I had muttered.
"Then stop standing back and take what’s yours, my girl. To become a queen, one must have talent... and a pure bloodline. Pleasing the king in bed comes after that."
Her words kept echoing in my head ever since.
And now seeing Arabella standing in front of me...
Look at her!
She was smiling. Not afraid at all. I couldn’t believe it.
"The girl might want to commit suicide!" My wolf stated in amusement, and I smirked.
"You’re damn right."
With a smirk, I lunged. The silver-coated dagger sliced through the air, but Arabella didn’t even raise her hands to protect herself.
The blade grazed her forearm, leaving a thin crimson line. Due to the absence of a wolf, she couldn’t heal herself.
She hissed in pain but stood there, facing me again.
"What?" I scoffed, "Not even going to defend yourself?"
She simply looked at me, and the calm expression on her face irritated me even more. I attacked again. This time the dagger skimmed her across her shoulder before I drove my fist into her ribs. She staggered backward but somehow kept her feet beneath her.
Every time I attacked, I slashed a different part of her body, and she would stand again. A shallow cut opened across her upper arm and then another over her thigh.
Of course, I wasn’t a fool. My every strike was controlled.
The silver coating would not only weaken her, but it would make every wound burn. None of them was deep enough to kill.
I was not here to kill her but just to take my revenge. Just to let her taste what she was getting into. She didn’t carry any weapon and never tried to even slap me. Every time I knocked her down, she pushed herself back onto her feet.
Blood stained her floral dress.
"What is wrong with you? Fight me!" I snarled. She wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth and looked into my eyes. I lost it.
With a growl, I drove my boot straight into her stomach. The impact sent her crashing onto her back several feet away.
I smirked when she curled from the force, struggling to draw a breath. She seemed tired and didn’t try to stand this time.
With a satisfied grin, I walked over to her and crouched beside her, "Ah. Look at you. Now that’s more like it."
She looked at me but remained silent. I didn’t think she had enough strength to even utter a single word. I leaned closer, "Do you know the best part, whore? Every cut I’ve given you is coated with silver. They’ll stay there all night," My smile widened, "By the time Lucien returns tomorrow morning...." I traced the flat side of the dagger beneath her chin, "... every single wound will be gone."
I chuckled.
"You’ll have nothing to show him except a bloodstained dress. He will never believe you."
Her expression didn’t change. She was trying her best to control her screams. Poor girl!
"Enjoy your night, slave!"
With one last look at her battered body, I turned on my heel and walked away.
However, I stopped when I heard her whisper. With a frown, I turned around and found her talking to the sky.
Ha-ha. The freak was actually talking to the damn sky.
"Don’t... move..." Her whisper reached my ears, "Don’t you dare go anywhere."
I looked up at the sky and laughed hard. She had lost it.
"Whore!" I muttered under my breath and walked out of the grounds.

Arabella Toussaint’s pov:
I looked at the sky and slowly shook my head, "Don’t go anywhere. I dare you..." I clamped my lips in pain. The bitch was supposed to kill me. Why had she left me here half-dead?
"Don’t... don’t you dare move... I ... I won’t forgive you..." I struggled to speak and then winced in pain. My vision blurred.
Jasmine had said that the morning light would erase every wound and every proof she had given me.
If that was the case, then there couldn’t be a morning. Yeah, I know that it didn’t make sense. The sun would rise whether I wanted it or not. Even so, I kept staring at the stars silently begging them not to leave.
"Let Lucien see these wounds first. Okay?" I groaned in pain.
A weak laugh almost escaped me. Darkness was slowly swallowing me. The last thing I saw was a single star twinkling above me. And then everything went black.
