Chapter 2054 Life
Chapter 2054 Life
“… Huh?!” Leonid showed clear shock on his face, his eyes widening in disbelief. “Is that even possible? Lady Renara built her foundations on frost, as you know. Her entire cultivation structure is rooted in it…”
The Kyumaji people, in general, possess a slight natural affinity toward nine different laws. However, these nine affinities almost never appear together in a single person. Every individual is born with one of the nine affinities and joins one of the halls based on the affinity they were born with, shaping their entire path and future from that single origin.
Except for Renara and, before her, her grandfather. They possess all nine affinities within a single body. They can freely choose any of them to build their foundations, shape their core, and define their path… and Renara chose frost.
Robin nodded slowly. “Renara used frost to build her foundations, and her energy gathering center transformed into a core through frost. Her energy circulation, her inner structure, her growth, all of it is aligned with frost. She reached her current level through frost. That fact is settled and cannot be changed. Frost will remain her greatest affinity for her entire life.”
Then he added calmly, “But do not forget that she still has affinities for eight other laws, and three of them belong to the Thermal Path as well. They are not weak affinities either, that’s four out of nine.”
“…As far as I remember,” Robin continued, “reaching the seventh grade happens when a person connects with the law they desire and waits for its response. They stand at the threshold, waiting for rejection or acceptance, for resonance or silence. So why not try with the major Thermal Law?”
He gestured lightly. “She already has affinity with four of its minor laws, and now she possesses a complete explanation of the law from the Behemoth Galaxy itself up to the sixth stage. A full structured explanation. I personally read the entire material and added my own notes and interpretations to it.” Then he waved his hand casually. “If the major Thermal Law responds to her, then good and blessed. If it does not, that is fine too. Frost is not a bad option either. It is still a powerful and noble path.”
Robin smiled softly. “Just tell her to delay her breakthrough a little and try. With the elixir boosts, the preparations, and the timing, she might succeed… and I will think of other methods as well, other pushes and strategies, to move her forward.”
From everything he had heard about Renara, she was the ideal subordinate, a perfect spearhead, a decisive force his son could command as he wished. Of course, in his heart, he truly wished for her to become stronger, far stronger, overwhelmingly stronger, by a great margin.
“…” Robin smiled quietly to himself.
It was strange to think of Renara, the one who had placed the crown upon his head with her authority, as an ideal subordinate. The contrast itself felt unreal.
“Suppose she actually succeeds and breaks through with the primary Thermal Law,” Leonid swallowed, his throat dry, “what do you think the reaction of the Behemoth Sermagon would be?”
“He can come and bite my ass if he wants,” Robin said lightly, waving dismissively, then turning and continuing forward on his path. “As if I would waste the chance to gain a powerful subordinate for the sake of some random Behemoth in some ruined place where birds don’t shit.”
“…” Leonid stared at Robin’s back for a long moment, silent and motionless, then released a quiet sigh and vanished into the shadows.
A random Behemoth?
His Majesty’s words were becoming more frightening with every passing day.
At that moment, Richard was sitting at the highest point of the space beast’s massive body, placing his left arm behind him to lean on it, and resting his right hand on his knee. His eyes were closed, and a faint, peaceful smile rested on his face. He was enjoying the light breeze that carried the scent of rot and blood, mixed with the fresh, salty smell of the sea, forming a strange but calming harmony.
“You look in better shape compared to when I saw you at the academy,” Robin spoke with a gentle smile as he climbed onto the massive corpse’s back with steady steps. “Do you like the place? Does it suit you?”
“…” Richard opened his eyes briefly by instinct, watching his father take calm, measured steps toward him. Then he closed them again slowly.
“Just training and trying to invent things for four decades nearly killed me, I don’t know how do you pull that.” he said quietly. “This place, this silence, this scent… this is where my rest lies.”
“And here, you can stay.” Robin gently patted his son’s spiky white hair, then sat down beside him. “Or do you want to go and try to recover Serene like your other half? Do you feel like chasing that path one more time?”
“…” Richard remained silent for a few seconds, his expression calm but conflicted. “She’s a good girl. Truly.”
“Oh, so you also have feelings for her,” Robin said with a soft laugh, “but you’re not ready to submit to headaches, chaos, and emotional storms for her like your other half would?” He chuckled lightly. “That’s fine with me too.”
Then his gaze drifted away into the distance. “This matter is settled anyway. She is yours. I will make sure of that personally.”
He continued calmly, “Stay here if you want. Keep absorbing the life energy of space beasts, keep strengthening yourself, and keep developing your abilities. That is what matters now more than anything else.”
“…” Richard turned toward him, staring at his father’s face for a long moment. “Can we continue our conversation now,” he asked quietly, “or are you going to get distracted by something else again?”
“Haha, sorry, buddy.” Robin patted Richard’s back a few times. “I was just going to link two sectors quickly and come back to our talk, but things happened, as they always do.”
Then he narrowed his eyes slightly in thought. “Now that I think about it, while using the plates, I realized that the corridor’s power and range are shorter than what’s required to connect two sectors. I barely crossed a distance within the same sector, and I could clearly feel that this was its absolute limit. I’ll have to wait until I manage to make fourth-stage plates, unfortunately.” “Hah~” Richard laughed softly and shook his head. “Nothing came up, but your mind already drifted away. I really should have expected that.”
“…..” Robin nodded a few times in agreement. “You’re right. Let’s talk about you,
then.”
He turned back to him with warm smile. “You told me you were thinking about something else while trying to use the Anti-Life ability. What exactly was
that thing?”
“…” Richard looked down, hesitating. “It’s something a bit embarrassing, like I
told you, and I…”
“Just tell me,” Robin insisted gently but firmly.
“…When you summoned everyone after your seclusion that followed the coronation, and you gave each person something that increased their power,
my siblings and I gathered afterward. Everyone talked about what they
received from you.”
Richard let out a slow breath. He was almost the only one who had received
nothing that day. Then he smiled faintly.
“…Sister Zara was scared that day. You gave her the Laws of Death, Destruction,
and Shaping so that one day she could form Creation. The weight of that responsibility nearly crushed her. She almost cried, and we spent the whole day trying to comfort her and calm her down.”
“…” Robin nodded quietly, waiting for him to continue.
“So, while I was trying to recreate the scene produced by the Black Plague, I
started thinking” Richard continued.
“If those four laws are what form Creation, and I possess Life, then what would happen if I separated Life from the rest of the components?”
Then he opened his hands slightly. “And boom. Just by thinking about it, I
managed to do it on the first attempt.”
“But the Anti-Life ability I saw from you had nothing to do with the Law of Life,” Robin said, frowning slightly. “And it doesn’t follow the principles of martial arts at all. It doesn’t move like one. So what do you say to that?” Richard smiled with a trace of irony and shook his head. “That’s exactly what happened. I wouldn’t lie to you about something like that.”
“Hmm.” Robin nodded several times, deep in thought, then looked away with a
serious expression.
“Richard…” He paused for a moment, choosing his words carefully.
“What do you know about the master laws?”
