Chapter 3399

Thinking this, the Thunder Spirit began condensing the ninth thunder tribulation. This time, it condensed three times as much thunder origin. That should be enough to blast Ye Liuyun until he was charred on the outside and tender within.

“Seriously? That’s going way too far!”

Seeing how powerful the thunder tribulation was, Ye Liuyun knew that his physical body definitely wouldn’t be able to withstand it.

However, if he used some other power to resist it, the thunder origin would be wasted. If he used his own Thunder Spirit to endure it head-on, he was worried that it might be injured.

Thus, after waiting until the Thunder Spirit in the sky had nearly finished condensing, he simply shot straight upward, charged into the clouds, and attacked the thunder tribulation first, directly seizing its thunder origin.

“Not this again!”

When the Thunder Spirit saw Ye Liuyun about to charge up and seize the thunder origin again, it grew furious. It immediately infused several strands of its own origin into it, intending to make Ye Liuyun suffer a heavy loss.

“It got stronger again?”

Ye Liuyun immediately sensed that the power of the thunder tribulation had become even more terrifying. The thunder origin’s instantaneous power had probably increased severalfold, and he guessed that the Thunder Spirit was using its own origin to enhance it.

So he did not reach out to grab it directly. Instead, he released his own Thunder Spirit to envelop him, while also summoning his God of War Armor. Only then did he charge into the thunder origin.

This time, he did not even try to seize it. He simply let his Thunder Spirit absorb it while allowing the God of War Armor to be tempered and tempering his own physical body as well.

“Heh heh, I’ll blast you until you’re charred on the outside and tender within!” The Thunder Spirit was basking in its triumph when it suddenly discovered that Ye Liuyun was wearing another armor of the fifth rank of the Void Realm.

“Shameless!”

It was cursing him inwardly when it suddenly realized that the Thunder Spirit origin it had released had been seized by Ye Liuyun’s Thunder Spirit and was being refined.

It wanted to snatch it back, but it was already too late. Part of its origin power was being enveloped and devoured by the Thunder Spirit, while the rest was blocked by the God of War Armor.

Having come this far, it decided to go all the way and continued releasing even more of its origin.

“I’m going all out against you! I’ll kill you if it’s the last thing I do!” the Thunder Spirit roared as thunderclaps continued to boom through the sky. The terrifying pressure filled every martial cultivator on the entire planet with fear.

No one knew what was happening. Only Luan Pin and several elders of the alliance knew that Ye Liuyun was probably fighting the heavenly tribulation.

“Attacking the heavenly tribulation? Is that something a human should do?”

“Well, aside from him, I doubt anyone else would dare!”

The elders all raised their heads and gazed at the sky, murmuring as they waited for the outcome.

Luan Ping, on the other hand, admired Ye Liuyun immensely, convinced that his master was the most formidable person in existence.

“If Master can even destroy the heavenly tribulation, wouldn’t that make him invincible in this world? But after destroying the heavenly tribulation, will Master still be able to break through to the next realm?” Luan Ping wondered inwardly.

The God of War Armor was helping Ye Liuyun block the attacks. He was also using his bloodline, divine essence, physical body, Buddhist-Demonic power, sword intention, the power of heaven and earth, and Spatial Force. Whenever the Thunder Spirit grew stronger, he employed another type of power to fight it.

Ye Liuyun’s Thunder Spirit had initially been at a disadvantage, but as it fought the other Thunder Spirit, it continued absorbing energy and strengthening itself. Before long, it had caught up with the Thunder Spirit of this world—and the more it absorbed, the faster it grew.

The Thunder Spirit of this world, meanwhile, continued fighting Ye Liuyun desperately, constantly infusing its origin power. When it realized that it was unable to do anything to Ye Liuyun, it was utterly dumbfounded.

Just then, Ye Liuyun’s God of War Armor suddenly upgraded again, rising to the sixth rank of the Void Realm. Its resistance to lightning became even stronger.

Seeing this, the Thunder Spirit faintly sensed that something was wrong and tried to flee immediately. But Ye Liuyun released both of his fire spirit, trapping it between them.

“You want to run after beating me up? Did I agree to that?”

With a grin, Ye Liuyun once again directed his Thunder Spirit to charge over and yank the origin power directly from the other Thunder Spirit.

“Rumble, rumble...”

The Thunder Spirit’s furious roars continued to echo through the sky. Soon, however, the thunder had turned into muffled booms. In reality, the Thunder Spirit of this world was growing weaker and weaker, having been plundered by Ye Liuyun until it no longer had the strength to resist.

The martial cultivators on the ground watched as golden-red and blue-white flames flickered within the clouds, followed by flashes of five-colored lightning appearing and disappearing.

The entire planet had already fallen into darkness. The terrifying yin-yang flames and lightning had melted the area where Ye Liuyun had been into flying ash, burning out a huge crater.

And that was with Ye Liuyun deliberately preventing the battle from affecting the planet below. Otherwise, his fight with the Thunder Spirit would have blasted the entire planet out of existence.

Ye Liuyun’s Thunder Spirit grappled with the Thunder Spirit of this world, tearing out its origin power bit by bit and absorbing it into its own body.

By now, the Thunder Spirit was even weaker than the two fire spirit. It could not break through their blockade at all.

Its original fury had now turned into wails, though no one else could distinguish the difference in the sound of the thunder.

In the end, it could endure no longer. It directly surrendered to Ye Liuyun and reined in all of its lightning power.

“Enough! I am the Thunder Spirit of this world. If you continue absorbing my power, you will incur this world’s retaliation!” the Thunder Spirit warned Ye Liuyun.

“How is this world going to retaliate against me? By blasting me with thunder tribulation?” Ye Liuyun countered.

His Thunder Spirit showed no intention of stopping. Ye Liuyun also moved closer, yanking out the Thunder Spirit’s origin and sending it into his spatial world for Lei Ming to absorb while chatting with it.

“Uh...” The Thunder Spirit was rendered speechless.

Ye Liuyun was no longer afraid of it, so its threats were useless.

Thus, it changed tactics and tried to persuade Ye Liuyun by appealing to the greater good.

“If my power becomes too weak, those who travel from this world to the Void World will not receive sufficient tempering, and their physical bodies will become weaker! You can’t be so selfish and think only of yourself.”

“If they become weaker, they can just temper themselves more over there! Isn’t martial cultivation all about seizing resources? That’s the rule established by this world. I only need to take care of my own resources. How could I possibly look after everyone else?

“Besides, I’m not going to take everything. I’ll definitely leave plenty for you! You don’t need to worry!”

Ye Liuyun knew that the Thunder Spirit could do nothing to him, so he did not budge in the slightest, either verbally or physically.

In a short while, the Thunder Spirit’s origin had shrunk by another circle.

The Thunder Spirit was helpless as it sensed itself growing weaker and weaker while Ye Liuyun’s Thunder Spirit grew stronger and stronger. It could only surrender to Ye Liuyun and admit its mistake.

“What do you mean, you were wrong? Aren’t you the heavenly tribulation representing this world? How could carrying out your mission be wrong?”

Ye Liuyun asked with a wicked grin, while his hands moved even faster.

“I was wrong! We already knew each other, so I shouldn’t have blasted you so harshly! Now we’re acquaintances—friends, even. It’s said that one only becomes acquainted after fighting! Friends don’t need to hurt each other, right?”

The Thunder Spirit was already pleading with Ye Liuyun in a sobbing voice.
