Chapter 365: In Elizabeth’s Room
Elizabeth pushed the oak door open and led him inside. She gave him a brief tour of her spacious, elegantly decorated room before stepping out onto the wide stone balcony.
They leaned against the carved railing, enjoying the cool night breeze and the sprawling view of the academy grounds.
Elizabeth glanced sideways at him, her red eyes searching his face. "Is it true that you confessed to Lune?"
Solomon turned to look at her and shook his head. "No."
"My viewers and your chat told me that you did," Elizabeth commented, tapping her fingers against the stone railing.
Solomon looked up at the sky, pondering the events on the mountain. "I did not confess to her per se, and I did not mean it like a romantic declaration. But that does not mean I do not want to be around her."
Elizabeth turned her body toward him. "She has not clarified that she loves you either, right?"
Solomon nodded slowly, tracing the grooves in the stone. "We have not confessed or said anything directly."
"Does that mean there is nothing official between you two?" Elizabeth asked curiously.
Solomon shrugged his shoulders. "She kissed me, just like how you kissed me that night. Nothing else happened."
[Ron_Selby: bro is playing a dangerous game.]
[Ferald: comparing the kisses right to her face!]
[Brerell: Elizabeth is plotting something.]
[Naturic: the drama is so good.]
Elizabeth grinned, her eyes sparkling with a triumphant sense of victory. "Does that mean I am closer to you than Lune is? You have never eaten a meal alone with Lune, and you have never entered her private room."
Solomon chuckled lightly, shaking his head. "You should not think too much about it."
They both looked up at the night sky. Thousands of stars glittered brightly against the dark expanse, but there was no moon visible tonight.
Elizabeth took a deep breath, her hands gripping the stone railing tightly. "I like you, Solomon."
[1Fizzy: SHE CONFESSED!]
[sgtcwby: ELIZABETH MAKING MOVES!]
[Mezz_3863: Solo Man is cornered!]
[Joshua_Swofford: we are witnessing history.]
[DaoistAlexkg: what is he going to say?!]
After uttering the confession, Elizabeth refused to look at his face. She kept her gaze glued to the starry sky, her heart pounding against her ribs.
She was terrified of his response.
Solomon didn’t say anything for a long moment. He leaned against the railing, his silver eyes reflecting the starlight.
"I will tell you the same thing I told Lune," Solomon finally spoke, his voice gentle. "There is no need to worry too much about things like this right now. We can take it slow and just enjoy our lives. We still do not know each other very well."
Although Elizabeth already knew he had given Lune a similar answer back in the hot spring, hearing those specific words aimed directly at her made her heart sink.
A profound sadness washed over her. She wondered if this was exactly how Lune had felt. If so, Lune was a remarkably strong girl for managing to walk away with her head held high. Elizabeth was currently having a very hard time controlling her emotions and stopping the tears from pooling in her red eyes.
[Nick: bro rejected both of them with the same line.]
[trenthay: she looks so heartbroken.]
[GoonLord: SOLO MAN YOU MONSTER!]
[Vaelen: he is just being honest guys.]
Solomon noticed her trembling shoulders. "I had a girlfriend."
Elizabeth clenched her fists against the stone railing. She did not want to hear a love story about his ex right after getting rejected.
"Her name was Serah," Solomon continued quietly. "She died in a dungeon."
Elizabeth gasped, her breath catching in her throat. She turned her head around to look at him, her red eyes brimming with unshed tears. This time, however, Solomon was the one actively avoiding eye contact, staring blankly out into the dark campus.
"I did not know," Elizabeth whispered, her voice cracking. "I am so sorry, Solomon. That must have hurt you so much."
Solomon chuckled wryly, a sad smile touching his lips. "I have moved on. I went back to my home city to handle some things recently. I found closure there. It does not hurt me anymore. But that does not mean I am ready for another relationship. However, I have decided to not put up a wall."
[M00N: the Serah lore drop.]
[Dakota_Smith: bro actually opened up to her.]
[Andy_Thornton: this is so sad.]
[Stephen_wood: Elizabeth feels so bad now.]
They stayed on the balcony for a while longer, talking quietly under the stars. Solomon shared a few more memories about his relationship with Serah, explaining how she used to train him and scold him for his reckless behavior.
Elizabeth listened attentively, offering quiet nods of understanding.
"What kind of girl do you actually like?" Elizabeth asked curiously, wiping a stray tear from her cheek.
Solomon didn’t miss a beat. "Strong. Kind and caring."
[Shadow: taking notes!]
[James_hayes: Elizabeth is going to start a training arc.]
[Sedrikk: bro knows exactly what he wants.]
[Foodball: the standard has been set.]
Elizabeth tilted her head, a playful spark returning to her eyes. "Do you not want to date a princess? That would be a flex for a commoner."
"Being a princess means nothing to me," Solomon responded smoothly, resting his chin on his hand. "Status means nothing at all."
Elizabeth stepped a little closer, fishing for a compliment. "You will not find another girl like me. I am very pretty."
Solomon turned his head and looked directly into her red eyes. He studied her features for a few seconds before nodding in agreement. "You are indeed beautiful."
[LazyCat: HE SAID IT!]
[User 12: the eye contact!]
[NewbHunter: Solo Man hitting her with the charm.]
[TallicaStew: Elizabeth is winning right now.]
Elizabeth flushed a brilliant shade of crimson, a wide smile breaking across her face.
"But," Solomon added seamlessly, "you are neither kind nor caring."
[Ret_Tri: AHAHAHA DENIED!]
[WarpTen: BRO RUINED IT!]
[Zoomtech: emotional damage!]
[Tyler_Klare: Solo Man strikes again.]
Ron_Selby: LMAO! I figured they were gonna kiss next. I was ready to record this time.
Elizabeth pouted, her cheeks puffing out in indignation. She stepped forward, wrapped her arms around his neck, and playfully choked him, shaking him back and forth as they both burst into genuine laughter.
She finally let go and leaned against his shoulder, looking up at him with a devious grin. "Who is prettier, Solomon? Me or Lune?"
Solomon looked away from her and stared directly into the glowing lens of the owl, knowing exactly what his impending fate was going to be.
[Mezz_3863: IT IS A TRAP!]
[1Fizzy: RIP SOLO MAN!]
[sgtcwby: answer the question coward!]
[M00N: bro is dead either way.]
[James_hayes: we are waiting for the answer!]
