Chapter 611
The sound of Lu Xinyi’s voice made Shen Yi pause and look around him. He breathed heavily, seeing Zou Yin’s bloody form slumped beneath him. Zou Yin was out, and there was no need for him to continue. However, a part of Shen Yi wanted to—so badly—but…
“Shen Yi, stop! Enough already, we already apprehended everyone!” Li Yuren’s voice reached his ears.
“Shen Yi!” His wife’s voice resounded and called out to him again. He looked over to the area where Lu Xinyi was and released a breath he didn’t know he was holding. She was also slumped and seated on the floor watching him with wide eyes. He noticed the slight tremble that coursed through her, and it snapped him back to reality.
“Xinxin…” He got up to his feet, the need to further smash Zou Yin’s face forgotten. His wife needed him.
“Xinxin…” he breathed, grabbing her shoulders and taking a good look at her. “Did he hurt you? Where did he touch you?” he asked. The rage in his chest tried to resurface again as he saw her troubled expression.
However, Lu Xinyi didn’t say anything but threw her body at his, burying her face on his chest as she cried her heart out. Shen Yi reached out a hand and held her head, thanking the heavens she wasn’t physically hurt. He held her close, afraid that any minute he would lose her again.
Looking at his right, he saw Li Qiao and Sun Feiyan finally getting up; but something happened that no one had expected. Another gunshot was heard inside, and suddenly, Ye Xingjie’s voice reverberated against the walls of the warehouse. -.
“Feiyan!”
Sun Feiyan was startled upon hearing a familiar voice calling out to her. However, her eyesight suddenly dimmed; and she fell back on the floor. It was only then she realized that someone shot her from the back.
One of Zou Yin’s men was trying to shoot Li Qiao but ended up shooting Sun Feiyan when the latter suddenly rose from her position. Ye Xingjie was enraged and shot the man thrice, killing him before running towards Sun Feiyan.
Li Qiao’s eyes widened before she hurriedly knelt down beside Sun Feiyan and held her hand.
“Feiyan! Look at me! Don’t close your eyes, goddammit!” She didn’t want to end this night like this. Damn, it was already satisfying to watch Shen Yi beat Zou Yin; and she was hoping to end this night with a little celebration.
Ye Xingjie then arrived and held Sun Feiyan in his arms. He was screaming for help, and the medics on Li Yuren’s team checked on her at once. The bullet didn’t go through her body, but it had gotten in quite deep. They were having a hard time stopping her blood loss.
Ye Xingjie continued to hold her hand, murmuring words to keep her conscious. The cold facade was gone as he laid his heart bare to Sun Feiyan to accept.
“You’re going to leave me alone, aren’t you?” Sun Feiyan asked him with ragged breath. Her eyes filled with unshed tears as she looked up at the man she’d been missing for weeks.
Ye Xingjie stared at her momentarily and shook his head. He shouldn’t have left her alone in the first place. Now, she had suffered because of his pride. What was the point of taking revenge on the Suns if he was going to lose the only woman he had learned to love?
“Not if you prefer I stay. Not if you promise me you’ll live.” He reached out his hand and caressed her cheek before pulling his fingers back, revealing the tears that Sun Feiyan hadn’t known she was crying.
“Then, how can you even say those words to me?”
“I was cruel to you. Harsh. I even betrayed your trust.” Ye Xingjie said with bitterness as he remembered the last words he uttered to his beloved. How foolish was he to think that he didn’t need her, that he didn’t love her?
When Chen Anqi went to his place last night, informing him that Sun Feiyan was taken away. He suddenly felt his heart skip a beat. He always thought that fear was a foreign emotion to him until the moment he realized that he might be losing Sun Feiyan for good.
“I know you didn’t mean to…” Sun Feiyan said which only made him guiltier than he already was. How could she be so forgiving?
“And yet the outcome was the same. I hurt you, Feiyan.”
“I don’t blame you, Xingjie. Just, please, don’t leave me alone. I can’t take it anymore.” She took a deep breath before her eyes lidded, her consciousness started to fade.
“Feiyan? Feiyan!”
At last, Sun Feiyan thought that she could finally rest. She didn’t have enough energy to stay conscious although she knew that Ye Xingjie was waiting for her.

Minutes later, Zou Yin regained his consciousness; but the moment he regained it his whole body was in pain. Shen Yi had really beaten him into pulp that his face was almost unrecognizable. He then felt someone stepped on his torso with so much force, he heard his own bones cracking from within.
“Oh, so the pig finally woke up.” Li Yuren’s cold and monotonous voice sent shivers down Zou Yin’s spine.
“Y-you…” Even talking and breathing hurt him so much that he repeatedly cursed Shen Yi and Li Yuren in his mind.
Noticing the hatred flashed on his eyes, Li Yuren smirked.
“Feeling lucky, aren’t you? If it wasn’t for Lu Xinyi’s intervention, you wouldn’t have a chance to wake up. The government also wants you alive not dead, but…” Li Yuren’s eyes narrowed and stared down at Zou Yin like he was talking to the lowest scum on earth.
“A little accident won’t hurt, no?”
After saying those words, Li Yuren’s shot Zou Yin’s groin, earning a piercing scream from him.
Scum like him shouldn’t be allowed to procreate. His genes must be drowned in bleach to secure a brighter future for the next generation. So many stupid things appeared out of nowhere; punishing Zou Yin like this, Li Yuren hoped the stupidity would stop with him.
The pain was immeasurable that Zou Yin passed out from it.
Long Feng smacked his own face as he realized what his commander had done. Was this Li Yuren’s way of taking revenge on Zou Yin after the latter molest Lu Xinyi? Even if Li Yuren didn’t say it, Long Feng knew that his superior cared for Lu Xinyi deeply even if she was already married to Shen Yi.
“Ouch. Did you just turn him into a eunuch without his permission?” Li Qiao appeared beside him and looked down at Zou Yin’s form. Earlier, she wanted to kill him; but now, Li Qiao only felt pity for him for he would only live a life like hell starting today.
“Hn. That should give him a lesson not to assault women. With his little buddy practically useless now, he could not go around spreading his stupid genes.” Li Yuren shrugged and placed his pistol back in its case.
Li Qiao’s lips curled into a grin. She perfectly knew well why her brother did that, but she didn’t dare to voice out her opinion. As they watched Lu Xinyi being taken away by her husband, Li Qiao wondered if her brother regretted not chasing after Lu Xinyi before.
