Chapter 1835 - 1825: Since You’re Here, Have a Meal Before You Go

Chapter 1835: Chapter 1825: Since You’re Here, Have a Meal Before You Go

The man who got out of the car was wearing a tailored cvcud jearey suit, which perfectly accentuated his elite aristocratic aura. His straight, slender legs clad in suit pants could rival those of a male model!

"...Baron Lawrence?" Enna Clark was stunned for a moment and instinctively looked him up and down. The distinguished man was impeccably perfect, not a single hair out of place, nothing like someone who had been in an accident.

Her face was still pale, and she asked a bit weakly, "You...weren’t you in a car accident?"

As soon as she finished speaking, the proud man furrowed his brows, glanced at her with his eagle-like eyes, and arrogantly asked, "Who told you I was in a car accident?" He hadn’t said so!

Scott Harris, the one being pushed to take the blame, stepped forward gloomily and interjected at the right moment, saying to Enna Clark, "Ms. Clark, I’m sorry. I was too anxious. Lord Lawrence did have a small incident, but it was just a minor rear-end collision between two cars. I intended to tell Ms. Clark that Lord Lawrence wasn’t hurt, but Ms. Clark had already hung up...Ms. Clark, I’m deeply sorry."

Enna Clark silently glanced at the two of them.

She wasn’t an idiot. How could she not see through such a lie that even nine-year-old Bobby wouldn’t believe?

Didn’t she know who Scott Harris was?

Baron Lawrence’s right-hand person, a top housekeeper with professional skills. Scott Harris could not possibly make such a low-level mistake!

And it’s impossible for such a small matter to panic him enough to call her.

So, there could only be one truth—the previous call was made at Baron Lawrence’s request!

Enna Clark’s heart, which was hanging in midair, thudded back down, while a surge of anger that she couldn’t suppress welled up inside her. She felt like she had been toyed with, her face didn’t look good, and after a moment’s silence, she said calmly, "It doesn’t matter. Since nothing’s wrong, I’ll be going now."

With that, she actually turned to leave.

Baron Lawrence had imagined countless scenarios for their reunion. Never did he expect Enna Clark to not even say goodbye and to want to leave just like that.

His handsome face darkened, turning livid. His long legs took a step forward, and he dominantly grabbed the wrist of the person who was about to leave.

"You’ve come all this way, have a meal before you go!"

Right now, Enna Clark wanted to slap him rather than eat with him! Her wrist was held tightly, and she feared she couldn’t control the anger of feeling tricked and toyed with inside her chest. She struggled to maintain her composure and turned back to say, "I’m not hungry."

Because she had an appointment with Lyle Westbrook later, she didn’t want to eat now! Baron Lawrence’s grip on her hand tightened, and there seemed to be a spark flickering deep in his dark eyes, strong and domineering, allowing no refusal.

"I’m hungry!"

The words of rebuttal were already on the tip of Enna Clark’s tongue, almost blurting out, what does your hunger have to do with me!

Before she could say it, the proud man preemptively said, "Enna Clark, my stomach hurts. I’m hungry."

My stomach hurts, I’m hungry.

Those short six words quelled the raging flames of anger burning inside her.

Enna Clark froze entirely, hating her soft-heartedness immensely. Yet she couldn’t utter the words of refusal. But she also didn’t want to agree to him so easily.

Scott Harris wisely interjected at this moment, saying, "There’s a restaurant not far from here, which happens to serve Ms. Clark’s favorite seafood porridge. Their shrimp seafood porridge is a delicacy of Country W."

"Let’s go to this one then." Before she even agreed, the domineering man had already waved his hand and made the decision.
