Chapter 155: Tommy V Interviews Tyler (1)

The dean paced through his office with the paperwork for the board of directors in his hand. Part of him wanted to throw it out and tell them maybe later, but he had already named his successor late last night. The honorable Master Sanju would be taking the dean’s position starting next year. They weren’t certain who would take over his dueling position, but the list of candidates was already over 100.

He continued teaching the class in the meantime until a replacement was found, and then he would begin his formal training under the dean. It was a big pay jump, even for one of the highest-paid professors at the school. It was an easy decision instantly approved by the board of directors, especially after Professor Atwood turned it down.

The news finally reached Tyler’s ears, and before the interview, he stopped by and congratulated and thanked his sensei. If it wasn’t for his staff, Tyler didn’t know where he’d be in this crazy landscape that always kept him on his toes. Everyone wished him luck, and he was off in a limo that showed up in front of the school.

After about a thirty-minute ride, he found himself in another mansion. He walked to the door and was surprised to see Tommy’s wife answer it.

"You must be Tyler. I’m Mia. Nice to meet you," she said while hugging him.

"Pleasure is mine. Where’s Tommy?" Tyler asked while returning the hug.

"He’s upstairs and waiting for you. You look really nice. Did you grow?" She laughed.

"I guess I just look bigger in person?" Tyler chuckled.

"That could be it. Here, follow me. Can I get you a water, sports drink or soda or anything?" she asked with a smile.

"Water would be great, actually. Thanks," Tyler said as the two walked into the very elegant kitchen.

He admired the house. It was spacious, cozy and something he’d like to own one day, especially if they won this war and he was able to settle down and have kids. Then the realization that he’d become a god hit him, and he wondered if any of that was even possible.

"Yes, I’m sure before you become a god you’ll end up having kids. That process will probably take a long time. One step at a time, champ," Ash reminded him.

"Yeah... true. I’m just glad I finally get some alone time with Amanda tonight. It feels like forever since I’ve been laid."

"It has been over a week and a half. That’s a long time for you!" Vivian giggled.

"But not for you and Maximus, I’m sure," Tyler teased.

"Zip it, wise guy," Viv joked back.

"I plead the fifth," Maximus chuckled.

"You two horndogs go have at it. I’ll be just fine with the cameras."

"Nope, we want to be there for your big transformation, and we should show a united front. The world needs to know Tyler Rask is not to be messed with," Maximus said sternly.

Mia walked them upstairs, and Tyler was impressed with the streaming setup. It reminded him of one of his old friends’ setups on Earth but way more advanced. There were several green screens, monitors and even some devices that reminded him of his system interface. Tommy could easily do whatever he wanted with just a few clicks. His wife took a seat behind the camera and started working on the background and controls.

"Nice to meet you, man. Thank you for all the amazing highlights from the tournament. It was really cool to see me and my wives up close and personal like that. You painted us in a really great light. I appreciate that," Tyler said while shaking his hand.

"Of course, bro! You were the stars of the show. So, is there anything beforehand I should know that might completely derail the segment?" Tommy asked excitedly.

"Oh, I’m sure there are several things that are going to make your head explode. Don’t you want the natural reaction?" Tyler said with an eager grin.

"True... true. Mia, just edit out anything I say as quickly as you can. This thing is live, so there’s only a 30-second delay," Tommy said while sitting in a chair, signaling for Tyler to get in the other.

"You act like my ability is useless sometimes, Tommy," she sighed.

"I’m not saying that! Geez, the only summoner tells me there are going to be several things that blow my mind, and I ask a favor, and you get upset with me. Why, babe? You know I love and appreciate you."

Mia smiled. "Yes, I know. Just making sure."

’Damn, I’m guessing all this streaming creates a huge strain on their relationship. That sucks,’ Tyler thought while sitting down.

"Alright, we’re about to go live. I’ll let you introduce yourself, and you should mention you’re donating the money to charity right away. That’s when I’ll announce I’m matching it, some sound effects will go off, and that’s when the real fun will begin. I have a ton of questions, so if there’s something you don’t feel comfortable answering, just tell me, and we can cut it quickly," Tommy explained with a wide grin.

Mia started his intro music, and Tyler felt relaxed.

"Isis, are you doing something to me?" Tyler asked.

"Just some relaxation magic, nothing major. He really is a sharp kid. None of you exaggerated in the slightest when he was passed out. I’m impressed," Isis said calmly.

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the stream! Today we have the big one. The one you’ve all been begging me for. We have the one, the only, Tyler Rask!" Tommy said excitedly.

"Hey, everyone! I’m Tyler, and yeah, happy to be here. To all the elves out there, you should know I’m married to one, and I’ll be donating one million credits to the relief fund for all the elves who have lost family. It’s the least I can do," Tyler said while touching his heart.

"What an amazing guy! What do you think, Mia? Should we match it?!"

"Yes!" she shouted from the back.

"That makes 2 million. All donations to this stream will go to elven relief. So, Tyler, what makes you, you?"

Tyler smirked. "Well, the first thing everyone should know is I’ve spent a lot of time in the Land of Summoned Monsters recently. I think it’d be better to show everyone."

"What do you mean?" Tommy asked excitedly.

Tyler transformed into his small phoenix form and sat in the chair.

"I’m not exactly human anymore. I’m an Eidolon and can turn into a phoenix!" Tyler articulated very clearly with his beak.
