Thank you for making it this far in my novel. I know this is probably one of the lamest ways to start the third volume, but I did want to give everyone a nice reminder of everyone’s stats, Tyler’s current familiars and things before I got going. Chapter 153: Beyond Human

Tyler finally stopped writhing in pain to the relief of everyone. His familiars teleported back inside of Tyler and congratulated him. He wasn’t entirely sure what they were so excited about, but he could see his white aura now had golden speckles floating throughout. They suggested they should go see Bahamut, so they all teleported to the great throne room.

The doors were open so Tyler and the ladies walked in.

He didn’t know how to describe it, but Tyler felt different. He could now see his aura floating around him like it was alive in his peripherals. He always knew he had one but this was a huge step up. He also didn’t feel like himself in a way. His mind felt more crisp, like every memory floated around his head in vivid detail whether he was thinking about it or he wasn’t.

This included his memories from Earth. He wanted them to slow down; it was sensory overload. He watched himself rushing for another touchdown, getting up and celebrating with his teammates in those black and red uniforms he wore all those years ago in Texas. He approached Bahamut and Asura.

"Ladies, if you don’t mind, we’d like to have a moment alone with Tyler," Asura said with a cheerful smile.

They didn’t disagree and walked to their bedroom.

"What do you think they could possibly be talking about that they wouldn’t want to include us?" Nyx asked while they sat on their giant sectional sofa.

"I’m not sure but he didn’t look like he was his typical happy-go-lucky self either. He had this look in his eyes like he wanted to destroy and eliminate everything that stood in his path," Amanda sighed. "It almost looked scary."

"I think that evolution took a lot more out of him than any of us realize. I really don’t want to go through that but if we’re meant to become goddesses, maybe he finally broke through?" Sophie asked.

"I don’t think he’s a god. He would have those vibrant golden eyes like Bahamut and Asura and his aura wouldn’t just flicker with golden specks. I don’t know what he is, but he isn’t human," Kass said with a faint smile. "He’s still there. I know he is."

"I know he is too. It was just a little weird, wasn’t it?" Amanda asked, finally cracking a smile. "He didn’t seem to be in the moment like he normally is. Tyler looked like he was lost in his thoughts and didn’t have any answers."

"That’s probably because he doesn’t have any answers. Our planet is under attack, he knows there’s an outbreak of dark magic down here and he puts everything on himself. Add in the body reconstruction and who the hell knows what is going on in that poor kid’s brain. He isn’t even 19 yet!" Nyxara exclaimed.

*****

"Well, how do you feel?" Bahamut asked bluntly.

"Miserable. I can’t stop my thoughts. They’re floating around like dreams and they just keep appearing. Even the ones from Earth. What happened to me out there?"

Bahamut shot some magic at Tyler’s head and he finally relaxed.

"Thank you," Tyler said with a polite bow.

’I can finally think again. That was unbelievable.’

"You’re experiencing the transition to Eidolon Tyler," Asura said while sending a blessing his way.

[Asura’s blessing of Stability. User will be able to store memories in an archive that can be watched or shared on a screen at any time. Do you accept this spell? Yes/No?]

’Yes.’

Tyler felt a shiver run down through his spine as his brain felt like it was being picked apart.

[50% complete]

His head started pounding and he fell to his knees, screaming in pain again.

"Make it stop!"

"Sorry champ. We can’t. You’re one of us now. You are the Primordial human Eidolon." Ash said cheerfully.

"What the fuck does that even mean?" Tyler howled in pain internally. "There aren’t any other summoners."

"There aren’t any other summoners yet." Ritsu clarified.

"So you’re saying if I have kids they’ll be able to summon me?" Tyler asked, trying to focus on his wedding memories to calm himself down.

"Yes." Bahamut said matter-of-factly. "You need to select what type of being you’d like to start changing into as you grow stronger."

"Easy. Phoenix."

[Do you wish to become the Primordial Human Phoenix? Yes/No]

’Yes.’

One more spell from Bahamut and Tyler was passed out on the floor.

"Did you really have to take it that far?" Ash complained.

"It was the only way. Think of him as another brother instead of a host now." Asura smiled.

"I’ve always thought of him that way... nothing changes in our relationship right? He’s only temporarily an Eidolon anyway. Won’t he eventually become a god?" Ash asked his parents.

"Yes. Just like his wives will become goddesses. The path remains the same. Before you go off dark magic hunting, I’d recommend returning to Vexarra and explaining this to the people. I believe Tommy V wants to do an exclusive interview with Tyler. He can explain he’s no longer human and he will no longer need to link with you to use his phoenix form." Bahamut explained.
