Legend of the chosen ones: Beyond Destiny
Chapter 1735 - 893: Choice (Part 2)
"Ao Gao."
Ji Jue interrupted him, his gaze lowered: "Do you know, what is the most advantageous situation for me right now?"
Ao Gao was speechless, stiffened, silent.
Dared not speak the answer.
At this point, for Ji Jue, the best outcome is precisely William's death!
No, one could even say, things have reached a point where William must die.
William is nothing but a brainless brute, the real operations of Shiye Wilderness are almost entirely in Ao Gao's hands, and amongst the successors he favored most, the one with the highest public approval is precisely Meng Sang.
Now, both Ao Gao and Meng Sang are in Ji Jue's hands!
The justification for revenge and even the essence of Shiye Wilderness have almost voluntarily been handed to Ji Jue. As for Ao Gao... his opinion no longer matters.
After William's death, Ao Gao could only rely on Ji Jue to maintain his position and power; otherwise, after revealing everything he knows, Ji Jue could easily elevate a more obedient dog to power.
Boom!
On the TV, another explosion erupted, vaguely roaring sounds echoed, so familiar that it caused Ao Gao's pupils to suddenly contract, forgetting to breathe.
"Meng Sang, go out." He suddenly said.
"Uncle..."
Meng Sang was stunned, turned back, only to see a grim face, almost losing control, hoarsely roaring: "I said, get out!"
Meng Sang's mind may not be as useful as Ao Gao's, and he's not as capable in a fight as his own father.
But at least he listens.
Even now, he firmly believes that uncle wouldn't harm him.
Uncle would never betray father and Shiye.
He staggered up from the ground, fleeing as if escaping.
The door closed.
In the silence, only Ji Jue remained seated, his gaze lowered, staring at Ao Gao's appearance.
"...You actually got one thing wrong."
Ao Gao laughed bitterly, with a hoarse sigh: "William is an idiot with a screw loose, acts rashly with no regard for consequences, but as a tool, he's perfect.
As long as you claim to be helping him avenge his grudges, you can easily control him.
He never had ambitions, as long as he ate well, drank well, and had fights to pick, he didn't care about anything else. Add a bunch of juniors to flatter him, make him believe he's invincible, and he's perfectly satisfied; a bit of money is enough to maintain him.
Better than me..."
He laughed desolately, bowing his head: "Better than someone like me who just messes things up."
"Is that so?" Ji Jue seemed to doubt.
"It is so!"
Ao Gao knelt and bowed, his words held no falsehood.
As he said, William's foolishness was almost infamous across the Four Seas, his lack of brains wasn't a recent discovery, using him was no trouble at all.
But the premise is, William had to be controllable.
If that's the case, Ao Gao's presence is unnecessary.
After all, why would a good tool need two masters?
Now, the person who must die has become him.
Ao Gao straightened himself, reached into his coat, pulled out a gun and pressed it under his chin, his fingers trembling uncontrollably, his breath gradually growing heavy.
He heard the final sound.
"Are you willing to?"
He was silent for a moment, then suddenly shook his head, indifferent: "That idiot William, I played him like a dog. Honestly, after a long time, sometimes I really found him annoying and tiresome."
But without him, I might have died in those dark, hidden organ farms long ago?
Perhaps.
A person like me, who can't see the light of day, is suited for such a tragic end.
So, that's it.
"Had enough fun for so many years, more than worth it."
He pulled the trigger.
Bang!
Blood spurted as Ao Gao fell back.
Even in the end, those eyes continued to stare directly at Ji Jue, until that figure slowly rose and turned away.
In the dead silence, the blood meandered, reflecting the final smile.
As if liberated.
.
.
"Not good, big brother."
William, at the banquet, heard the shouts of his subordinates, his face turned pale, and he rushed up, holding a sheet of paper: "Mr. Ao Gao, Mr. Ao Gao he..."
The wine glass in William's hand shattered instantly, his expression changed drastically, and he suddenly stood up: "What did you say happened to Ao Gao?"
"Mr. Ao Gao was in trouble. On the way back with the Seven Cities..."
Before he could finish, screams echoed behind him; it was his youngest third son, yelling in terror: "Father, watch out!"
Boom!
The words were barely out when a subordinate already flew backward, but as William, bewildered, looked down, he saw the emerald green blade protruding from his chest.
Only now did he feel the chill on his back.
The son who had just pounced on him, holding a knife, twisted it fiercely, and in the blink of an eye, in William's incredulous moment, he darted back and forth, fleeing in terror.
William flew into a rage, his vision suddenly darkened, almost unable to stand.
The soul poison surged, spreading wildly.
In the chaotic banquet hall, gunshots rang out, screams were continuous, and those rebellious ones hiding weapons brazenly fired at their former brothers, blood splattering in all directions.
In a daze, without a second thought, William darted forward, rolling clumsily, narrowly avoiding a hand emerging from the shadows behind him trying to gouge his heart.
In his hands, an iron hammer materialized from nowhere, stirring up a storm, and with a roar, he swung it towards the source of the attack.
The assailant had no intention of engaging directly, skillfully retreating.
That familiar face caused William's pupils to suddenly contract.
