Legacy of the Void Fleet
Chapter 521: Ch
With that, they both sighed in relief simultaneously. The road ahead was not as cloudy as it had been only a few seconds ago. Though the path was still unclear and the way forward remained somewhat blurry, at least they could now see the direction ahead.
And for most of the ministers, that was more than enough.
Meanwhile, along a walkway deeper within the Imperial Palace, the Star Emperor could be seen walking, heading even farther into the palace grounds.
Just then, a shadow flashed by.
"Your Majesty, this is what—" The shadow quickly recounted everything it had seen happening within the throne chamber.
"Hmm. You have done well." The Star Emperor merely hummed, without any exaggerated words. His expression remained almost the same—cold and composed.
The shadow bowed before saying, "yes your majesty."
Then it left just as it had come.
Suddenly, the Star Emperor muttered, "Looks like both Jass and Sam still have some brain and will left in their bones. They might have changed, but nothing that couldn’t be reversed. A bit of pressure would do all the work."
He paused. "But that is fine as well. With that push, at least they have signed a peace agreement, relieving me of a huge burden and allowing me to focus on the few things that must be done."
As he spoke, he looked toward the tall mountain surrounded by dense fog ahead, situated right in the backyard of the Star Empire’s Imperial Palace.
There was a gate before it.
Written upon the gate were the words: [ANCESTRAL GROUNDS]
The Star Emperor stared at those characters for a moment.
His expression changed rapidly—from helplessness, to realization, then unwillingness, and finally to firmness. Did the Star Emperor walk inward?
"I hope the world’s will isn’t asking for too much," he spoke, looking toward the sky he had just cleared.
Yet, dark clouds were already beginning to form again, gathering in the sky as though a storm was about to arrive.
With that, the Star Emperor walked inward.
Meanwhile, very far away from the Star Empire, somewhere in hyperspace, the now already over-hundred-meter-long Obliterator was cruising through space.
Within the almost similar command bridge of the Obliterator were both Kallus and Red Empress, standing near the newest addition—the viewport.
Actually, there were a few viewports, unlike the previous time when everything was projected through the Transcendent-Class optical holographic projection system created by millions of modules installed across the Obliterator.
Though even though these viewports had been "added" to the Obliterator, the ship itself hadn’t lost any of its defensive capabilities, nor was the command bridge placed under any excessive danger in any scenario.
Kallus, along with Red Empress, was looking at the small holographic screens floating in front of them.
All of them were showing the various fiery wars and conflicts happening across the Galactic Net, with amused smiles on their faces.
"Looks like this time these Tier 3 powers have actually kicked the hornet’s nest, huh?" Empress said, amused.
"It does look like that, but it can only be blamed upon them. After all, it was them who created the situation that was able to gather this level of attention."
"And someone was actually bold enough to step in and leak their dark histories in such an orderly manner," Kallus said in absolute surprise.
"Bold would be an understatement. Whoever did that was more than just bold. They practically carried out the entire thing with top-level efficiency and left no trace of themselves behind."
"Even I, try as I might, can’t find the smallest hint of their presence across the Galactic Net. Whoever it was, they are definitely prepared and capable people."
"Oh?" Kallus looked at Empress with some surprise.
Even she wasn’t able to find any traces of them. That gave him the impression that whoever was behind this—no, whatever group was behind this—
"Wait, wait." Suddenly, Kallus caught onto something. "You just said ’group of people.’ Does that mean there was more than one person behind this? A group of people specifically?"
"Hmm." Empress hummed as she nodded her head.
"Right. While I might not be able to trace them back to their origin, I was still able to catch a few things about them. They are definitely a group of people and not a single person."
"While the entire operation was completely organized, the way it happened was mostly different when comparing the actions individually and even collectively."
"That could only mean that there were different people involved. And because of that, there were differences in their methods and actions that I was able to catch."
"The possibility of this being carried out by a highly intelligent AI or a similar level of lifeform is low as well, at least based on my understanding but that is mostly beacuse of my inexperience in this feild, so it could be a possibility as well."
Kallus narrowed his eyes slightly. "So you’re saying this wasn’t the work of one mastermind?"
"Exactly," Empress replied. "Whoever they are, there are multiple individuals involved. They worked together, but their methods were different enough for me to detect traces of individuality in their actions."
"Look at this." Kallus’s expression quickly relaxed as he spoke. "This is becoming more interesting as things go on, right? And here I was thinking that there was nothing much the Milky Way had to offer that could take me by surprise. But this?"
He chuckled lightly. "Well, you never know what’s out there until you encounter it, no?"
He was completely amused, but there was also a hint of solemnity on his face. Knowing that there was a group of people—or perhaps some superior-level intelligent beings—capable of executing an operation of this scale while still remaining completely outside his radar was extraordinary.
And it was something he should be wary of. After all, one always fears what is unknown.
"Red Empress, be on the lookout for this. If any traces of them are found, do your best to track them or contact them if possible. Let’s see whether they are enemies, neutral parties, or maybe even allies." He gave the order.
"You don’t have to say it." Red Empress merely waved her hand in the air leisurely. "I was going to do that anyway. I’m more interested in their way of doing things than anything else, so I’ll definitely look for them even if I’m not ordered to."
Kallus, hearing this, was immediately speechless.
His mouth twitched slightly as he pursed his lips. "Great..."
Meanwhile, in the Milky Way, somewhere within a completely unknown star system filled with asteroids, destroyed warships, and countless other remnants, there wasn’t a single sign of life present.
Deep within the asteroid fields, if one somehow reached that location, they would definitely find an invisible wall blocking them from reaching the core of the asteroid belt.
It was a sphere-like invisible shield capable of creating a perfect illusion. Anyone looking at the area from far away would see nothing but asteroids and empty space.
But within the invisible shield, if one managed to get past it, they would be horrified by what lay inside.
There were countless massive weapon systems, with supermassive barrels floating leisurely in space.
And around the center were three massive, planet-sized structures made entirely from some unknown grade of alloy, with dark, black, blue, and white sections covering their enormous surfaces.
Within these structures, numerous supercomputer-like modules could be seen blinking with red, blue, and white lights. Every few milliseconds, they flashed constantly, as if processing an unimaginable amount of information.
Within the blue structure, three young women could be seen sitting around a triangular table, each occupying one corner.
"The first mission was successful," the lady in blue said without any emotion on her face.
"We successfully used the data we gathered and took complete advantage of this opportunity created by the current leader of the human race, though unknowingly. Everything has been taken advantage of by us."
"You have done well, Wisdom."
The red-haired girl, who possessed the appearance of a new leader of the human race, spoke. "It is time for us to move and pave the way as well, to the best of our abilities."
"Exactly, War." The blue-haired lady nodded her head seriously.
The white-haired lady wearing a white coat, giving her a doctor-like appearance, also nodded.
"Now that the galaxy has been thrown into chaos by us, and almost every common person out there is breathing down the necks of the Tier 3 powers, we should activate our end plan."
Wisdom immediately spoke, looking toward the red-haired girl before turning her gaze toward the white-haired woman.
"Judgment, you tell us. Should we deploy those evolution serums in batches toward the people belonging to the human race around every corner of the galaxy, or should we target one particular area?"
"Hmm... we should take advantage of this and start the revitalization of humanity. That way, when that person reaches them, he won’t have to take on a huge burden just to support them."
