Chapter 97 Giant Mech Incoming
Two ranks of shiny metallic constructs were fighting in a violent melee with valleys of blue plasma and red glowing metallic slugs impacting between them and exploding, turning them into puddles of molten metal or tearing them into dozens of metallic parts.
Suddenly, a loud flapping came from up, with a large shadow passing above the battlefield. Then the large dragon covered in the dark smoke descended from the sky, heading towards the ground like a flaming meteor, loud winds swishing around him.
The dragon opened his mouth, and orange light flickered inside with a thick stream of bright orange-gold magma exploding out, sweeping through the ranks of metal blue-eyes constructs that were holding staffs with glowing blue crystals.
The magma splashed everywhere, passing through their ranks and melting them instantly, their bodies melting and joining the path of glowing orange liquid.

The remaining magitech soldiers turned their heads in sync, moving as one, towards the dragon, their eyes flashing in the light.
They lifted their weapons, aiming at the dragon, and then dozens of blue lights flashed across the sky as they flew towards the dragon, spreading in a large circle, making it impossible to avoid all of them.
Vesuvius just braced against their impact, and then more than eight blue projectiles hit him, exploding in fiery blue explosions, heat radiating out of them, causing the surrounding air to shiver.
The dragon kept flying, not caring about the plasma impacting against him.
Soon the blue plasma vanished, revealing the dragon covered in glowing orange spots with hot molten stone dripping from him and raining onto the green grass under him, burning the grass and creating a small puddle of lava.
As he prepared to unleash the second valley, the red magitech soldiers released a hail of red glowing metallic slugs, loud bangs spreading through the green plains as they flew and pierced through their blue-eyed enemies.
The slugs tore through their thin plates, tearing their limbs away and blowing large holes through their bodies, cutting through their ranks.
‘Hmm, they are not attacking me? Does that mean that they now consider me as their ally, or do they just consider the blue constructs as higher priority targets?’
Vesuvius stabilised himself in the air, watching the battle continue in the distance with dozens of blue and red lights flashing everywhere.
Wanting to sweep once again over the battlefield to earn more easy XP, Vesuvius prepared to attack, but suddenly he stopped feeling the air around him vibrate with loud humming sounds coming from a distance.
Ten flying triangular drones with rotating circular rotors attached to them blasted through the air, the blues crystals on their rear side leaving behind traces of blue as they headed towards the dragon.
The long metal rods under them flashed in blue lights as more blue plasma projectiles flew towards the dragon, screeching as they passed through the air leaving behind them blue trails.
Blue explosions illuminated the pitch black sky, exploding all over the dragon and melting the volcanic armour around him with molten stone pouring out from the sky, burning everything under the dragon in the infernal rain.
Vesuvius immediately poured his mana into his horns, large tendrils of blue and gold lightning growing around them, moving like octopus tentacles.
Then a massive blue arc of lightning with a golden centre struck across the sky, branching as it blasted towards the drones, jumping between them and creating spiderwebs of lightning in the sky, followed by loud thunder that made even the weird red railguns quiet in comparison.
The seared black drones fell from the sky, leaving behind them black smoke as they fell. They fell on the green grass and exploded in small blue explosions that sent dozens of metallic fragments in all directions.

‘Hehe, this is too easy.’
A loud blaring siren sounded through the grasslands, and then everything shook. The ground started to shake, with a loud sound of an engine coming from a distance.
Vesuvius immediately noticed the source of it, his eyes growing in panic, ‘Did I just jinxed it?’
A large enormous metallic construct reaching over seven floors in height moved towards him, a storm of blue plasma surging behind it as its large blue crystal wings propelled it forward by releasing a stream of weird blue waves.

‘Are they coordinating with each other? It feels like it… I was causing damage to them, so they responded by sending this large one.’
The humongous mech blasted across the sky, leaving behind it a strip of burned, black ground, its eyes glowing in extremely bright blue light illuminating everything before it in blue, like reflectors. The large blue sphere in its chest was pulsing in bright light, like a beacon warning everything of the incoming doom.
‘Lightning should be ineffective at this range…’
Vesuvius opened his mouth, and magical symbols arranged into a circle. Magma glowed in his throat, streaming out and gathering in the magical circle and quickly forming a sphere.
Soon the magical circle collapsed, and magical symbols were quickly arranged into a square with the sphere of glowing magma starting to stretch and concentrate, quickly forming a spike magma.
Vesuvius released his spell, and the brightly glowing orange-gold spike flew forward, turning into an orange-gold blur.
The spike shrieked across the sky, moving at such speed that it looked like one short orange flash towards the glowing core of the giant.
The giant mech suddenly moved to the side, and his legs temporary touched the ground, large cracks spreading everywhere, the ground shaking as a large cloud of dust rose up.
The spike struck against the giant mech, closely missing its core, melting a small hole into the shiny metallic amour. The metal around the place of impact turned red from the heat.
The giant metallic construct didn’t even flinch, moving towards the dragon, like an unstoppable avalanche.
