Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 335 The Sunny Disgrace, Part 2/2

The clouds of smoke and lightning spun. Powerful winds rose up, rotating in tornadoes of fire and lightning.

The small glowing angels, looking like winged knights with nothing but light between the gaps of their silver and white armor, desperately flapped their wings as the winds trashed with them as if they were just some ragdolls.

The black and golden dragon hovered in the sky, his armor reflecting the light show around him. His horns shone as magic runes spun around them, forming massive spell circles in the clouds above him.

His cursed heart in his scaly chest leaked a cold aura, with every angel torn apart by the lightning or burned to cinders by the fire.

He felt the cinders of vengeance within his cursed, black heart rekindle and burn brighter than ever before.

“Kill them all!” The distorted voice of the long-dead dragon woke up from its slumber, its cursed words resonating within the dragon’s soul.

‘Can I progress both of my quests at once? Haha, this venture is becoming more and more worthwhile with each moment.’

A large formation of angels descended on him, their halos brightly shining, forming a huge bubble of light that protected them from the berserk elemental storm surging in the sky.

Vesuvius ignored them as more and more spell circuits formed within his mouth, all pulsing and glowing while purple and neon-red light gathered in his deep throat.

His target was right beneath him, the flames of revenge burning within his two hearts.

The wyrm regenerated under his eyes, with the twelve-winged angel pushing back against the dragon’s burning, fiery aura with its light barrier.

The next second, all of the floating circles of magic triggered and unleashed a maelstrom of thin neon-red rays of lightning.

The concentrated rays cut through the light barriers and shields of the lesser angels, burning holes into their bodies and cutting them apart, their armors unable to even delay their deaths.

“More! Kill them all! Don’t let them escape! Kill them as they killed me!” The freezing cold kept spreading through his veins from the cursed heart beating in his chest, steam rising from his body as heat and ice mixed together, constantly sublimating and desublimating the moisture around him.

Vesuvius watched as the wyrm regenerated and healed while protected by the barrier of the dominion authority, its eyes of light shining like two harbor beacons.

‘Haha, just keep it up!’ The dragon almost burst into laughter as the light in his mouth brightened. In the next second, a wide neon-red and golden beam of fused and concentrated elemental energy exploded out, shooting straight at the duo.

The angel raised both of its armored hands, and the barrier of light around it became even brighter, its light penetrating through the dark clouds and outshining even the sun while mixing with the vile neon-red light.

“Yes, kill them both!” The dragon’s golden eyes changed their color, turning into bright orbs of neon-red cursed energy.

POV The Treacherous Wyrm:

The wyrm felt the pain subside as it opened its sun-like eyes. It has already thought that it died after the impossibly fast counterattack of the dragon.

But it was saved by the selfless angel, which reinforced its decision even more.

‘Angels are selfless beings, but the entire dragon-kind is full of selfish, profiteering bastards!’ Encurvius saw the memories of his past life pass before his eyes in slow-motion as they felt its upcoming death.

He was worked to death by the same kind of greedy bastards. He used to be just a poor human who spent little of his free time escaping into fictional worlds.

He died, but he got a second chance to live again, and he even gained his cheat in the form of the superior body of a wyrm.

He didn’t know how, but somehow after he died, he woke up in its body, with a large magic circle burned in the stone he was lying on.

‘A perfect body with a supreme talent for magic and perfect eternal health.’ It all felt like a dream to him, the dream only soured by the memories of the former owner of his body.

The memories of how the wyrm wasted all of its potential to enrich itself and laze around while evil roamed the world instead of using its talent and power to improve the world.

‘They wasted all their gifts, while unlucky, poor humans have to endure hardships and fight just to live another day.’

He fought hard, defeating and punishing his evil kind, to improve the world, yet legends still painted him as a wyrm so greedy that he stole even from his own.

He wanted to be a hero, but he was trapped in the body of a monster, with only the angels giving him a chance.

He protected the humans, slowly building an enclave where they could live peacefully while fostering his relationship with heaven.

‘Yet it all goes down the drain now.’ He saw the evil dragon lord open its mouth, and the black, red, and golden beam erupted from its depths filled with sharp teeth.

Before him was a monster far beyond anything he had ever seen. His body was screaming at him to submit, warning him of danger.

But a rage woke him up as he saw the angel’s body of light flicker as the barrier protecting them slowly cracked. The evil energy rampaged around it, seeping into their bodies and souls and weakening them.

“No, I can’t die like this!” The wyrm’s sun circle between its two horns shone like the real sun, its warm and comfortable light expanding. It seeped into the barrier of light, sealing and repairing the cracks within it while burning away the curses from their bodies.

It pushed with its entire will, and the angel joined. The two lights, the warm sunlight, and the pure silvery holy light, mixed together.

The barrier of light pushed by their domains slowly expanded, repelling back the endless, cursed sea of fire.

‘Am I really going to win with the power of friendship?’

“It is futile, traitor! Do you really believe that you, a mere wyrm and an authority angel, can resist me?! The peak of dragons!”

“STOP RESISTING!” All of the cells in the wyrm’s body jolted, its own blood rebelling against its own mind. For a split second, its light dimmed down.

Regret filled the wyrm, ‘If I reincarnated in this dragon’s body instead of the current one, I could change the world for the better. I could force the dragon kind to change their ways and help the weak.’𝑂𝑽𝐿xt.𝗇t

Finally, the barrier shattered, and the red and purple flames flooded everything, like water when a dam collapsed.

All of the angels froze, their bodies flickering as the commanding angel disintegrated in the neon-red and golden fire without any trace left behind.

‘Hopefully, I will get some good drops from the quest. Still, they were both beyond stupid. If the wyrm didn’t make a mistake and the angel didn’t decide to save it, this fight would be much harder….’

The dragon flapped his wings, and his body shot straight toward the still-open heavenly gate, with lightning and tornadoes of fire heading following his trace, mangling the angelic formations in their path.

“Evil must be punished!” Even stronger holy energy spread out of the gate, and all the angels lit up, their weapons of light and wings growing more luminous.

‘Damn, fighting angels is like fighting cultivators… a stronger one will always appear.’ Vesuvius had no intention of provoking the angels even more, so he decided to end it and close the gate.

The dragon flickered out of reality, and his body appeared beside the gate. He opened his mouth, and a stream of fire descended upon the gate.

The neon-red, cursed fire enveloped the construct of light, burning it like dry grass.

“I will return, dragon, and avenge my soldiers that you have killed!” The voice came out for the one last time before the gate of light collapsed into itself in a ball of fire and smoke.

The remaining angels faded, and the glow of their luminous wings dimmed down.

Without any fear, they threw themselves against the dragon. Their bodies ignited in snow-white flames as they turned themselves into projectiles of holy fire.

They moved so fast as they burned their bodies that they looked like white streaks of light.

The wind howled loudly around them as they shot at the dragon like a barrage of living, biological bullets.

‘Suicidal zealots.’ Vesuvius felt pity at how zealous the angels were. They had no freedom and were almost like brainwashed tools, relentlessly upholding their strict set of laws.
