Chapter 61: Uchiha Izumi, Are You Afraid of Death?

The Mangekyō truly lived up to its reputation as the eye that reflected one’s heart.

At the time, Uchiha Izumi probably couldn’t bear to see her mother die, but the Mangekyō had no ability to resurrect the dead.

So she had taken a step back and awakened an ability that could save someone else’s life instead.

Looking at Uchiha Izumi’s smiling face, Naruto shook his head and laughed.

Her way of thinking was certainly peculiar.

She was embarrassed when talking about an ability that could save her own life.

But when talking about being able to save someone else, she looked incredibly proud.

Thinking about the limitations of Izanagi, Naruto asked:

"How long does the ocular technique remain effective?"

Uchiha Izumi answered:

"There is no fixed duration.

"Every time I restore myself, it consumes ocular power.

"I can restore myself to any state within the previous twenty-four hours.

"As for the transfer seal, only I can set its activation condition. Once activated, after the designated state is restored, the ocular technique disappears."

Naruto nodded.

This was somewhat different from the Izanagi that required a Sharingan as its price.

With the version that used a Sharingan as the price, during the technique’s effective period, any damage suffered by the caster—including death—could be physically restored to the state recorded by the Sharingan.

In other words, after activating Izanagi with one eye, there would be an extremely short period of invincibility.

During this effective period, the caster could restore themselves to the recorded state countless times.

Once the duration ended, the "invincible" state disappeared, and the Sharingan used to activate Izanagi would go blind.

Uchiha Izumi’s version used ocular power as the price and didn’t require a recorded state beforehand.

However, every use consumed another portion of ocular power, and she could choose any state from within the previous twenty-four hours to restore herself to.

Overall, the fact that she didn’t have to sacrifice her eyes made it countless times stronger than the version that required sacrificing a Sharingan.

As for the transfer-sealed Izanagi...

To put it simply, it was a one-time resurrection cross.

The more Naruto thought about it, the more his brows furrowed.

A non-Eternal Mangekyō would eventually run out of ocular power.

Moreover, he had no idea how much ocular power Izumi’s ability required for each restoration.

If she could only activate it two or three times, then the ability would be somewhat underwhelming.

The transfer-sealed Izanagi probably consumed even more.

It was also uncertain whether the amount of ocular power consumed depended on the strength of the person it was transferred to.

If the technique were sealed onto someone extremely powerful, would it drain all of Izumi’s ocular power in an instant?

He didn’t dare let Uchiha Izumi test it.

With this thought, Naruto silently considered his options.

Uchiha Izumi didn’t have the system, so he could only consider the conventional methods available in the shinobi world.

The only thing he could think of was Hashirama’s cells.

Although fusing with Hashirama’s cells was dangerous, Uchiha Izumi possessed this mutated Izanagi ocular ability.

If the rejection became too severe during the fusion process, she could simply activate her ocular technique and restore herself to a state from within the previous twenty-four hours!

Suddenly, an idea flashed through Naruto’s mind.

If being killed activated Izanagi, but the restoration was delayed...

Would she technically count as dead during that period?

He remembered that Uchiha Madara had once used delayed restoration to remain apparently dead for a very long time.

With that thought, Naruto roughly had a plan.

He silently asked:

"System, can Uchiha Fugaku’s Mangekyō be used separately without fusing it into my eyes?"

Previously, after analyzing Uchiha Fugaku’s Mangekyō, Naruto hadn’t fused it because the circumstances weren’t suitable.

As time passed, he had simply forgotten about it.

"Yes. However, it cannot be used perfectly."

The system’s mechanical voice sounded.

Naruto’s heart immediately filled with delight.

As for the system’s second statement, Naruto roughly understood.

It was probably similar to Kakashi possessing a Sharingan that wasn’t naturally his.

He wouldn’t be able to deactivate it, and it would place a burden on his body, among other drawbacks.

Naruto didn’t think much about it.

"Father, Kurama, we’re going out for a while."

After informing them, Naruto took Uchiha Izumi out of the sealing space.

He avoided the ANBU surveillance, created Shadow Clones for both of them, and then took Uchiha Izumi to the Land of Waves using the Flying Thunder God Technique.

The house in the Land of Waves was a two-story building, with Izumi’s mother living on the first floor.

Worried that she would be lonely, and also concerned that she would be saddened by the destruction of the Uchiha clan, Naruto had been bringing Uchiha Izumi here these past few days.

Uchiha Izumi would then leave a Shadow Clone behind to accompany her mother.

Although it couldn’t be maintained for too long, several hours was still no problem.

After appearing on the second floor of the house in the Land of Waves, Naruto ignored Uchiha Izumi’s confused gaze and silently said:

"System, switch Uchiha Fugaku’s Mangekyō out separately for me."

Ding! Switching successful!

As the system notification sounded, Naruto’s eyes instantly transformed into a pair of scarlet Mangekyō Sharingan.

Uchiha Izumi froze slightly.

She didn’t understand why Naruto had activated the Mangekyō, nor why its pattern was different from the one she’d seen before.

But she didn’t ask.

She simply watched Naruto quietly.

Suddenly, Naruto raised two fingers and directly poked them into his eyes!

A scarlet Mangekyō Sharingan, still attached to blood vessels, was violently pulled out.

"Naruto, what are you doing?"

Uchiha Izumi’s eyes widened in shock.

Her flower-shaped Mangekyō Sharingan involuntarily opened wide!

Inside the sealing space, Minato Namikaze and Kurama couldn’t help but abruptly stand up.

Naruto simply waved his hand, indicating that everything was fine.

He then raised two fingers again and forcibly pulled out the other Mangekyō!

Then he silently said:

"System, switch back to my original eyes."

Ding! Switching successful!

As the system notification sounded, a pair of emerald-green eyes suddenly appeared within Naruto’s empty eye sockets!

He moved his eyes around.

Apart from some slight discomfort, there didn’t seem to be any problems.

He then closed and opened his eyes.

A scarlet Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan appeared.

He closed and opened them again.

The Byakugan he had extracted from Hyūga Hizashi appeared.

Once more, he closed and opened his eyes.

They returned to their normal emerald-green state.

Uchiha Izumi was completely dumbfounded.

Her mind had completely short-circuited.

It was too shocking!

Uchiha Izumi already knew about Naruto’s special ability.

But no matter how many abilities he fused, he should still only have one pair of eyes!

Being able to switch between different eyes was already strange enough.

But what was the deal with him physically pulling them out?

How could one person possibly have two pairs of eyes?

Through the seal, Minato Namikaze stared in confusion at the Mangekyō in Naruto’s eyes and the Mangekyō in his hand.

His thoughts stirred.

They had just been discussing Uchiha Izumi’s Mangekyō ability.

And now Naruto had physically pulled out a pair.

Combined with Naruto’s "bloodline ability" and Uchiha Izumi’s Mangekyō ability...

Minato Namikaze sucked in a deep breath!

What kind of "bloodline ability" had his son Naruto awakened?

Wasn’t this completely absurd?!

Outside.

Apart from some slight discomfort caused by forcibly pulling out his eyes, Naruto felt that there were no other problems.

He nodded in satisfaction.

Then he turned around and looked intently at Uchiha Izumi.

"Izumi, are you afraid of death?"
