Chapter 58: Uchiha Sasuke

Konoha Hospital.

"Uwaah~!"

A shrill cry rang out from one of the hospital rooms.

A doctor quickly rushed into the room.

Sasuke, who had been unconscious for several days, had finally awakened.

He sat on the hospital bed, breathing heavily as his body trembled uncontrollably.

The doctor walked over to Sasuke and gently asked:

"Sasuke, are you all right? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

Sasuke looked around blankly.

"Where am I?"

"This is Konoha Hospital. You’ve been unconscious for three days."

"Unconscious?"

"Uchiha Itachi!"

Hiruzen Sarutobi exchanged a glance with Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado behind him.

They nodded.

Koharu and Homura then left the hospital room, reassured.

"Don’t worry, Sasuke. We’ll do everything we can to capture Uchiha Itachi. You should get some rest."

Hiruzen Sarutobi gently rubbed Sasuke’s head and prepared to leave as well.

"Lord Hokage, is it true that there’s no one left from the Uchiha clan?"

Sasuke looked at the Third Hokage with eyes filled with hope.

Hiruzen Sarutobi shook his head.

Then, as though he had suddenly remembered something, he said:

"Besides you, there’s one more."

Sasuke’s eyes lit up with surprise.

"Lord Hokage, who?"

"Uchiha Izumi.

"She survived because she wasn’t living in the Uchiha district."

Hearing this, Sasuke froze.

Seeing his reaction, Hiruzen Sarutobi cautiously asked:

"Sasuke, what is it? You don’t know her?"

Sasuke shook his head and lowered his voice.

"She isn’t an Uchiha clan member."

After saying that, he slowly lowered his head.

Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded.

"Regardless, she’s still your only remaining clanswoman.

"If you need anything, you can go to her. I’m sure she’ll be willing to help you.

"All right, Sasuke. Get some rest for a few days.

"I’ve already arranged for you to be excused from the Ninja Academy. Go back whenever you feel ready."

With that, Hiruzen Sarutobi left the hospital room.

Sasuke remained with his head lowered, his eyes filled with confusion and suspicion.

"Was it him?"

"Why would he do this?"

She still seemed unable to believe it.

The clan’s heir massacring the entire clan was simply too difficult to comprehend.

But she wasn’t really asking Hiruzen.

It was more like she was asking herself.

"We don’t know the full truth either, but it’s highly likely that he did it in order to..."

She immediately realized something.

"To awaken my Sharingan?"

Hiruzen Sarutobi nodded with satisfaction.

As for whether Uchiha Izumi had awakened the Three-Tomoe Sharingan, Hiruzen Sarutobi didn’t ask.

Was he looking for Naruto?

Their relationship was practically nonexistent.

Was he looking for her?

That seemed much more likely.

Could it be because the Uchiha clan was gone and he had come here seeking comfort?

Putting those thoughts aside, Uchiha Izumi stood up and walked to the door.

She opened it directly.

Sasuke, who had been hesitating outside, seemed startled when the door suddenly opened.

He immediately turned around as if he wanted to run.

But he stopped himself.

He lowered his head.

Uchiha Izumi asked in confusion:

"Sasuke? Did you come to see Naruto?"

Sasuke gently shook his lowered head.

"Come inside first."

Without asking any more questions, Uchiha Izumi invited Sasuke inside.
