Chapter 110: The First Examination Room

The next day.

Outside the examination hall.

Kakashi swept his gaze over Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata before speaking.

"The examination hall is just ahead. I’ll take you this far. From here on, you’re on your own.

"Good luck, you little rookies."

With that, Kakashi deliberately flashed a carefree smile before disappearing with a Body Flicker.

The three members of Team 7 looked toward the examination hall.

Outside the entrance, numerous Genin wearing forehead protectors from various ninja villages were making their way inside. Some, however, stood near the entrance, their eyes flickering as they watched the other Genin enter.

Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata exchanged glances before walking toward the hall.

After entering, they followed the signs along the way and entered the examination room through the back door.

A quick glance around revealed that more than a hundred people were already seated inside.

"Sasuke~!"

A coquettish female voice rang out.

Sakura.

Although it had been a long time since they had seen each other, Naruto and the others knew who it was just from her voice.

Sasuke’s mouth twitched instinctively.

He turned around and saw Sakura walking over, with Kiba and Shino behind her.

Sakura looked at Sasuke with delight.

"Sasuke, are you guys here to take the Chunin Exams too?"

Sasuke glanced sideways at her and replied flatly,

"If you can enter this place, isn’t that already obvious?"

He cursed Sakura as a baka in his heart.

Sakura didn’t care at all about Sasuke’s cold response.

"Sasuke looks so cool when he’s cold."

Her eyes shone with inexplicable excitement.

Choji acted as though he hadn’t seen anything, continuing to munch on his potato chips.

Sakura couldn’t help glancing at Sasuke.

Hinata’s face flushed slightly.

"Lady Hinata."

Hinata softly called out,

"Brother Neji."

Lee suddenly looked puzzled.

"Neji, why do you call her ’Lady,’ while she calls you ’Brother’? What exactly is your relationship?"

"..."

The room instantly fell silent.

Lee blinked, his face full of question marks.

Tenten tugged on Lee from behind.

She then looked at Hinata with a smile.

"Neji, so this is your little sister? She’s so cute."

Neji nodded.

He had long since accepted the rules of the Hyuga clan, so he didn’t have any particular thoughts about it.

Still, hearing Hinata call him "Brother" in front of everyone warmed his heart slightly.

Hearing Tenten’s compliment, Hinata’s cheeks turned red. She gently nodded at Tenten.

Seeing Hinata’s shy expression, Tenten looked as if she’d discovered some rare treasure. Her eyes suddenly sparkled.

"I never expected cold-faced Neji to have such a precious little sister."

At that moment, the examination room door opened again.

Suigetsu, Jugo, and Karin from the Sound Village walked in.

Jugo remained completely calm.

The three of them said nothing and simply walked past, finding several empty seats and sitting down.

Sasuke’s expression remained unchanged as he glanced at them, but his heart stirred slightly.

He knew that the Sound Village would be participating.

But he hadn’t expected these three to be the ones coming.

And wasn’t Karin apprenticed to Tsunade?

She had actually put on a Sound Village forehead protector and swaggered into Konoha to participate in the exams. Wasn’t she afraid of being discovered?

Thinking of this, Sasuke couldn’t help glancing at Naruto.

Naruto understood his gaze. He blinked and signaled that everything was fine.

After Konoha learned that Tsunade had developed hemophobia, the higher-ups probably wished she wouldn’t come back at all. They hadn’t contacted Tsunade since then.

Orochimaru had also asked Karin about it. She hadn’t come into contact with any Konoha ninja.

Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro from the Sand Village walked in.

"Quiet down! You bunch of useless brats!"

More than half of the Genin suddenly stood up, glaring angrily toward the front of the examination room.

More than a dozen Konoha shinobi wearing uniforms appeared.

At the center stood a Konoha shinobi dressed in a black coat, with two sinister scars running across his face.

He swept his gaze over everyone.

"Rookies, sorry to keep you waiting. I’m Ibiki Morino, the proctor for the first examination of the Chunin Selection Exams."
