Chapter 137: Chapter 137: divine beasts
Amy’s mouth tightened. She let out a short scoff.
"Even if I can get clearance, getting it with you is a whole different kind of challenge."
Amelia tilted her head. "Is it going to be that hard for you?"
"No." Amy narrowed her eyes. "But you’d better keep your word. Or else."
With that warning, she stood and walked away without waiting for Amelia to respond.
Amelia watched her go, a quieter thought settling in her mind.
I’d also like to reunite my partners with their own divine beasts.
**
Lunch break arrived with its usual noise and clatter of trays.
Amelia sat at a table with all three brothers, a sight that was already drawing more attention than usual. Enzo, Reid, and Dean seemed determined to take turns feeding her, each of them leaning toward her with a bite of food whenever they thought she wasn’t eating enough.
Across the hall, recruits kept glancing in their direction. Some looked as though they couldn’t believe what they were seeing, while others seemed convinced the brothers were putting on an elaborate act.
Reid, seated on Amelia’s right, leaned closer with a lazy smile.
"Still can’t believe you and Enzo had fun without the rest of us."
Amelia nearly choked on the rice in her mouth. She hurriedly swallowed before turning to glare at him.
"Do you really want to start talking about that in public?"
"What’s wrong with talking about it with my partner?" Reid asked innocently, though the gleam in his eyes betrayed him. "Besides, I’m curious. How many times did you cum for him?"
Amelia stared at him in disbelief.
Before she could come up with a suitable response, Dean set his chopsticks down with a quiet click.
"How come I’m the only one who hasn’t been touched yet?" he asked, his expression unusually solemn. "You truly like me less than the others."
"That’s not true," Amelia replied quickly.
She immediately picked up a piece of meat and held it out to him. Dean’s expression softened, the slightest smile appearing as he leaned forward and accepted the bite.
Apparently satisfied, he picked up his chopsticks again.
Enzo, seated opposite them, watched the exchange with growing exasperation.
"You’re both being childish."
Reid turned toward him without missing a beat.
"We all are. Don’t exclude yourself."
Amelia let out a quiet sigh and set her chopsticks down before the conversation could get any worse.
"We have far more important things to discuss. For example, I think there’s a way we can recover some of you all past-life memories. Maybe even all of them."
Reid’s teasing expression faded slightly, his eyebrows lifting with interest.
"Funny you should say that. We actually had the same dream last night."
Amelia blinked.
"How?"
Reid and Dean both looked away at precisely the same time, suddenly finding their trays far more interesting than the conversation.
Amelia slowly turned toward Enzo.
He glanced at his brothers before answering in a dry voice.
"These two couldn’t keep their hands to themselves last night. That could be the connection..."
It took Amelia a moment to understand what he meant. When she did, she covered her face with both hands, heat rushing into her cheeks.
"You are so shameless!"
Reid merely shrugged, looking entirely unapologetic.
"Can’t help it. And it’s not exactly my first time, either. It’s always so good."
Amelia parted her fingers just enough to glare at him.
Dean leaned closer. "The thought of it felt too good while i did it. I lost it just from thinking about the way you would be dripping all over my—"
Amelia slapped a hand over his mouth before he could finish.
"I don’t want to hear the details!"
Dean’s eyes curved with quiet amusement above her palm. He made no attempt to pull away, apparently content to let her keep his mouth covered.
Amelia held his gaze for a moment before her embarrassment got the better of her. She hesitated, then muttered almost reluctantly,
"...I’ll hear them later."
Dean’s eyes brightened with satisfaction.
Amelia quickly removed her hand and rubbed her forehead, trying to gather her thoughts before the conversation took another disastrous turn.
"There has to be another connection. Something that allowed both of you, and not just Enzo, to share the dream with me. These new abilities are really confusing me."
Enzo’s teasing expression disappeared as he focused on her.
"We’ll figure them all out soon, you don’t need to stress it."
Despite her lingering embarrassment, a small smile tugged at Amelia’s lips.
"I know. And apart from figuring out my abilities, I also have to help the three of you."
Her expression grew more serious as she considered what lay ahead.
"That Zelda you mentioned isn’t someone you can defeat right now, not even if you fight together. I need to understand how I used weather manipulation to activate dormant gifted powers in other people. If the three of you have something similar locked away inside you, your chances against the Underworld Territory will be a lot higher."
The brothers exchanged glances.
Before any of them could respond, a recruit approached their table. His posture was stiff, and his expression suggested he had no desire to be caught in the middle of whatever was happening.
"Your presence is requested."
All three brothers’ expressions cooled at once.
"Can’t you see we’re busy?"
The recruit shifted uncomfortably but held his ground.
Amelia set her chopsticks down and rose to her feet. "Let’s go. I can already guess what this is about."
None of them questioned her decision. They simply followed as she led the way out of the dining hall.
**
The walk was short and silent. By the time they reached the familiar Supreme Court chamber, Amelia’s suspicions had only grown stronger.
The same elder who had questioned her before was waiting inside, accompanied by just one other official. Caleb stood near the door they had entered through, his arms folded across his chest.
The elder’s gaze settled on Amelia.
"There has been some... sensitive information brought to our attention." He turned toward Caleb. "Repeat what you reported."
Caleb straightened slightly.
"Amelia is not an ordinary woman. She carries multiple secrets. One of them is the ability to activate dormant gifted powers in others. She also possesses a divine beast, though it is unusually small compared to the typical size."
His eyes shifted briefly toward Amelia before returning to the elder.
"Given what she has already demonstrated, it is reasonable to assume she possesses additional secrets. Secrets that could either ruin Moonfist Territory or help it survive the coming war, depending entirely on her mood."
The chamber fell quiet.
The elder studied Amelia for several seconds, his expression giving little away. Then he addressed her directly.
"Is this true?"
Amelia drew breath to answer, but Enzo spoke before she could utter a word.
"She doesn’t need to answer that question."
