Chapter 810: Chapter 364: Graycliff Cigar_3

"Keep the smoke in your mouth, don’t let it get into your lungs. That’s how you handle cigarettes, it’s an insult to cigars. It’ll cost you your life, understand?"

"Understood." Lin Yu’an nodded solemnly.

Mike demonstrated, taking a slow small puff, allowing the rich smoke to slowly spread in his mouth.

He closed his eyes, as if he were tasting a glass of top-notch champagne, rather than a strong drink.

"Just like this, let it linger on your tongue for a few seconds," his voice was somewhat muffled by the smoke.

"Do you feel it, is there a... a scent like roasted coffee beans or toasted bread?"

He paused, then continued guiding, "Then, carefully taste, do you sense a faint, honey-like sweetness on the sides of your tongue?"

Mike, in an extremely content manner, directly exhaled the smoke from his mouth, forming a swirling, distinctively aromatic blue smoke.

"Use your nose to smell the aroma it emits. The pleasure of cigars is half in the mouth and half in the nose. Try it."

Lin Yu’an, imitating him, also took a gentle puff; a far richer and more complex smoke than that of a cigarette filled his mouth.

He could distinctly feel, first the aroma of toasted bread and nuts, then a very noticeable clear sweetness beginning to melt on both sides and the bottom of his tongue.

As the smoke lingered in his mouth for a moment, a faint reminiscence, like fresh grass sun-drenched, reappeared. The entire flavor was layered, yet perfectly fused together.

"How does it feel?" Mike asked with a smile.

"Very... special." Lin Yu’an said sincerely, "I tasted the bean flavor and honey you mentioned, along with a bit of grassy taste. Very smooth, almost no spiciness."

"Ha! That’s it!" Mike was as proud as if he’d seen his student pass a test with flying colors.

"This is the charm of the Cohiba Century Series! Elegant, smooth, like a well-mannered gentleman."

"If you smoke a Partagas, that’s a whole different feeling, that one’s like a muscular boxer!"

"Once you’re used to this feeling," he took another puff, "you can try the advanced methods." He slowly exhaled a small part of the smoke through his nose.

"This is called ’retrohaling,’ and it allows you to experience richer layers of aroma, like some hidden floral or creamy scent. But it takes practice, don’t blame me if you choke."

Lin Yu’an only watched once and tried it. Precisely controlling the muscles of his mouth and nose, he successfully let a wisp of smoke gently exit through his nose.

A warm, sweet aroma instantly lingered deep in his nasal passages, the honey sweetness amplified several times.

He even really caught a hint of, an almost ephemeral, vanillic creamy aroma, without a trace of cough.

Mike watched from the side, dumbfounded.

"Monster... you learn this in one go too?" He shook his head helplessly, though a smile of appreciation hung on his face.

"Sailing, whiskey, cigars..." Mike exhaled a beautiful smoke ring, speaking in a philosophical tone.

"These are the captain’s romance, all requiring patience to feel. When you reach my age, you’ll understand life’s pleasures often lie in these slow moments."

Lin Yu’an didn’t speak, taking a puff of the cigar, letting the spicy and rich smoke linger in his mouth for a moment before slowly exhaling it.

The two leaned against the ship’s rail, sipping ice-cold beer, smoking cigars, watching people come and go on the dock, enjoying the rare relaxing moments after sailing.

Lin Yu’an’s gaze crossed the sparkling water once again, landing on the distant black ship.

It resembled a silent black beast, quietly nesting in the world of white and beige luxury yachts, appearing out of place and immensely imposing.

The hull featured the latest reverse bow design, its lines sharp as a drawn war axe.

On the towering carbon-fiber mast, the red-bottomed golden lion flag of the Norwegian Crown Prince fluttered gently in the evening sea breeze, silently proclaiming the extraordinary status of its owner.

"But, seriously Mike," Lin Yu’an gazed at the flag, seemingly inadvertently asked, "aren’t you worried?"

"Worried?" Mike exhaled a puff of smoke, glanced at the black ship, shook his head, "Worried about Riven being taken away by them? Ha! You underestimate my daughter too much."

His tone was filled with the deepest understanding and firmest trust towards his daughter.

"But..." Mike’s voice lowered, his gaze growing distant, "I feel a bit sorry for Riven, she should’ve had a complete childhood."

"Mette is a good woman, Lin," he rarely evaluated his ex-wife, speaking calmly, "She just naturally belongs to another world."

"She tried, and I tried too, but some things, like the Gulf Stream, you can’t change its direction."

"An amicable separation was the best choice for both of us."

Just then, a black car slowly stopped by the dock.

The car door opened, and Riven along with her mother, Princess Mette, stepped off with bags and bags of shopping.

Although Riven’s face still showed a trace of fatigue, the previous icy resistance was no longer there.

She changed into a beautiful local handcraft tie-dye long dress, with a fresh frangipani pinned in her hair, resembling a true island girl.

While Princess Mette, like an ordinary mother, affectionately took her daughter’s arm, a contented smile on her face.
