Chapter 2865: The Conqueror’s Path

As soon as the Conqueror King returned to the capital, he accused Defiant Providence[1] of concealing the merits of his subordinates and appointing the younger brother of a sinner, subsequently throwing him in jail.

The Annihilation faction’s upper echelons knew that the Conqueror King was using his newfound power to suppress his rival, but the Conqueror King had recently vanquished Li Zicheng’s Reproduction faction and the Order faction’s Ming Dynasty.

“I’m fine. I am my father’s oldest son. The Conque... Cough cough, Dorgon can’t kill me.” Defiant Providence knew better than to reveal their true identities to the indigenous populace of this world.

“You can’t be sure about that,” a cold voice echoed.

The Conqueror KIng walked into the prison as well.

Defiant Providence’s expression darkened, and his heart quivered in fright. “What do you mean by that?” Why did he suddenly appear in this prison? Does he really intend to kill me?

The Conqueror King walked up to Tasina and wrapped his arm around her waist. Then, he looked at Defiant Providence and taunted, “Tasina was worried about you and wanted to meet you, but someone who has committed a grievous sin can’t be allowed to meet anyone. So, she came to beg me. I was too kind to turn down a request from my grieving sister-in-law.”

Tasina shivered. She felt uncomfortable, but she dared not push the Conqueror King away. Instead, she tried to explain to Defiant Providence, “Hooge, I sought help from my big sister, and it was my big sister who told brother-in-law to help me.”

Tasina was sisters with Dorgon’s consort, so that made her Dorgon’s sister-in-law.

Defiant Providence’s eyes blazed with fury. “Why did you beg him? He was the one who put me in my predicament!”

The Conqueror King laughed. “Indeed, you’re getting what you deserve now. You should have never stood up against me. But I can still consider sparing your life.”

Tasina quickly got on her knees and pleaded, “Brother-in-law, please have mercy on Hooge.”

The Conqueror King’s lips curled upward. “Whether I spare him or not depends on your performance.”

Tasina’s body shuddered. Someone of her position naturally understood what the Conqueror King wanted. She bit her lips, and a while later, she finally nodded. “Alright!”

Defiant Providence was shocked and infuriated. He roared, “I don’t need you to save me. Let him kill me!”

Tasina smiled miserably. “You’re my husband. I need to do whatever I can to save you. There’s still hope as long as you’re alive.”

The Conqueror KIng laughed heartily. “You’re a sentimental one, aren’t you? Let’s begin now.”

Tasina’s face paled. “Here?”

She was prepared to offer herself to save her husband, but she'd assumed that it would be done in private. She hadn't thought it would be done in front of her husband.

The Conqueror King sneered, “What’s the point of doing it if not here? I can get any woman I want in the world. I only covet you for the thrill of conquering you.”

He was named the Conqueror King not because he had conquered many worlds, but because he enjoyed conquering his enemies’ women. That brought him immense satisfaction, and that was also what drove him further on his path.

Defiant Providence charged at the prison bars and glared at the Conqueror King so intently that it felt like blood might seep from his eyes. “You scum! You dare!”

“A weakling’s threat holds no meaning to me. It only excites me further. What are you going to do about it? Bite me?” The Conqueror King suddenly chuckled to himself. “Ah, you can get your wife to do it on your behalf.”

Defiant Providence was infuriated. He couldn’t care less anymore. Defiant notes began manifesting around him. He was determined to pull the Conqueror King down with him.

But the prison was specially forged. A formation swiftly activated, and countless light whips appeared out of thin air and struck his body, causing the music notes to shatter.

The Conqueror King’s expression turned cold. He raised his hand, and a massive hand manifested inside the prison cell, grabbed Defiant Providence’s neck, and lifted him into the air.

Tasina hurriedly grabbed the Conqueror King’s hand. “Brother-in-law, please spare his life!”

“I’ve already said that it depends on your performance,” the Conqueror King replied with a vile grin.

Tasina’s face paled even further. Looking at her suffocating husband, her eyes glistened with tears as she replied, “Alright.”

She kneeled before the Conqueror King and began loosening his belt.

Defiant Providence wanted to stop her, but the countless restrictions imposed on him prevented him from even speaking.

“Ahhh~” The Conqueror King exhaled deeply in pleasure. “Not bad. If your mouth was half as delicate as your wife’s, you would have never landed in this plight.”

Defiant Providence looked defeated, as if someone had siphoned away his soul. He closed his eyes in pain.

But the Conqueror King wasn’t planning on sparing him just like that. He pulled Defiant Providence up against the prison bars as he said, “Take a good look. This was all the result of your incompetence. You should never have gone up against me!”

Conquering wasn't just about making his enemies’ wives beg for mercy, but also about enjoying their useless howls of regret. It was all about crushing their will! Only then would his conquering power become more complete.

“You’ll die a terrible death!” Defiant Providence roared with anger in his eyes.

“Yes, that’s more like it. The more fired up you are, the more excited I am.” The Conqueror King laughed gleefully.

Tasina, who had been pushed against the prison bars, covered her face in shame. “My husband, please don’t look at me.”

The Conqueror King harrumphed. “Put down your hands and take a good look at your incompetent husband. He’s the one who landed you in your current plight. What do you have to be embarrassed about?”

Tasina thought about the Conqueror King’s condition and had no choice but to put down her hands.

Looking at his wife’s guilt-ridden and pained expression, Defiant Providence felt stabbing pain in his heart. He grabbed her hand and cried out, “It’s all my fault, Tasina...”

But Tasina shook her head and replied, “No, we were just unlucky.”

Seeing the couple pouring their hearts out, the Conqueror King smiled even more gleefully.

Some time later, the Conqueror King finally left the prison with a satisfied smile. This conquest had brought his strength to a greater height.

Before leaving, he didn’t forget to give the collapsed Tasina a hug and tell Defiant Providence, “Your wife has satisfied me tremendously. I’ll spare you for the time being.”

Defiant Providence sat in the corner, looking as if he had lost his energy, willpower, and spirit.

“You’re trash indeed.” The Conqueror King harrumphed, not wanting to look at his old enemy anymore.

Defiant Providence sat in a daze. The restrictions in the prison cell even prevented him from taking his own life.

All of a sudden, a figure appeared outside. “Don’t you want to exact vengeance?”

Those words brought a gleam back into Defiant Providence’s dead eyes.
