Chapter 2500: The Showdown

Chapter 2500: The Showdown

The Saintess’ usually gentle and elegant voice carried a hint of coyness, and that stirred something in Zu An’s heart. He kissed her cheeks as he said, “I didn’t see any signs of the Brilliant Pinflowers in the imperial tomb. Are they really here?”

He had been searching the imperial tomb, but there were no signs of Brilliant Pinflowers.

“I remember there being some here, but I don’t know the exact location.” The Saintess looked apologetic. “I was in a rush to look for you, so I forgot to look up more information.”

“I probably just haven’t found them yet,” Zu An murmured.

He didn’t dare to search openly under the Lord of Slaughter’s watch. Given how big the imperial tomb was, it would take more time for him to cover more ground. It was also possible that the Brilliant Pinflower wasn't inside the imperial tomb but rather outside; it was just that he currently couldn’t head outside to take a look.

Just then, a pair of soft lips suddenly pressed against his. The desire in the Saintess' eyes lit up Zu An’s lust. The two of them embraced each other and tossed everything else to the back of their mind. The only thing they were interested in now was exploring each other’s bodies.

Zu An constructed a voice isolation formation around them, lest the Lord of Slaughter or other monster commanders hear them while their feelings were at their climax.

His action caused the Saintess’ face to redden further. She bit his shoulder and scoffed, “It’s all your fault.”

Zu An chuckled. “Who knew that there was such a side to the pure and dignified Saintess?”

“You’re so bad~” the Saintess moaned. She wrapped her hands around his neck, and the two of them soon melted in each other’s warmth. All kinds of unspeakable pleasures followed...

The following day, Zu An’s eyes suddenly shot open, and he sat upright. “That’s not right!”

“What’s wrong?” The Saintess leaned against him, revealing her impeccable body.

“Something is amiss about the situation outside.” Zu An quickly put on his clothes.

“What’s amiss?” the Saintess asked as she put on her clothes too.

Zu An removed the voice isolation formation and spent a moment listening before he replied, “It’s too quiet.”

There were powerful monster armies stationed outside the imperial tomb. They paled in comparison to the Monster Lord’s main force, but they were still a force to be reckoned with.

Just then, a terrifying howl echoed, “There’s a change in situation. Hurry up and gather!”

“It’s the Lord of Slaughter,” Zu An told the Saintess. “Find somewhere to hide. Don’t move around in the meantime.”

The terrifying roar caused the Saintess’ reddened face to turn pale. “Be careful.”

Zu An nodded. He quickly put on his clothes before rushing outside. As he headed off, his appearance slowly transformed into Aku's. The Saintess was awed by his transformation.

By the time Zu An arrived, most monsters were gathered and were staring at the Lord of Slaughter in confusion. The Lord of Slaughter looked infuriated, but no one knew what was going on.

“Master, what happened?” a monster standing at the forefront asked.

Zu An had learned his identity over the last few days. He was the Warped Monster, one of the Eighteen Monster Generals of the Monster World. In the Monster World, the Eighteen Monster Generals’ influence and strength were only beneath that of the three behemoths—the Lord of Slaughter, the Monster Lord, and the Incestuous King.

“The Monster Lord is already here,” the Lord of Slaughter said grimly.

“What?” The Warped Monster was taken aback before his face lit up in delight. “It’s good that he arrived early. We can use our home turf advantage to suppress him with our army outside!”

The Lord of Slaughter’s complexion looked awful. “Our army outside is gone.”

The commanders were all flabbergasted. How could so many troops disappear overnight without them noticing?

Zu An was awed. As expected of the Lord of Slaughter. His senses are keener than mine. I merely noticed that it was abnormally quiet outside, but he already confirmed that his troops were gone.

But how did the Monster Lord do it?

The troops stationed outside were a force to be reckoned with—they were the Lord of Slaughter’s elite army. How could they be massacred in a single night without any noise?

The commanders voiced their doubts too. They couldn’t believe that their subordinates were killed so easily.

The Lord of Slaughter sneered coldly, “It looks like the Plague Monarch has betrayed us.”

Zu An’s eyebrows shot up. The Plague Monarch?

He had clashed with the Plague Monarch in the future. The other party’s fighting prowess was nothing impressive, but his ability to spread plague was a potent weapon in large-scale battles. Even those with higher cultivation would struggle to match his destructive prowess.

Many monsters gasped upon hearing the Plague Monarch’s name. The latter was capable of rendering an entire army powerless overnight. To make things worse, the commanders were trapped inside the imperial tomb, leading to a collapse in the command chain outside. This hindered the troops outside from rallying together and putting up a fight. Of course, none dared to point that out, as it was the Lord of Slaughter’s idea to keep them here. The Lord of Slaughter was a proud man who didn’t take criticisms well.

Just then, a voice echoed outside. “Master, I request an audience with you.” Those words were uttered softly, but they echoed to every nook and cranny of the imperial tomb, sending chills down the commanders’ spines.

The Monster Lord was here.

The Lord of Slaughter narrowed his eyes. He glanced at the commanders in the imperial tomb, telling them to follow the plan. The commanders quickly flitted off to their respective hiding spots to lie in ambush.

The Lord of Slaughter turned to the gates and said, “Come in.”

The gates opened. Sunlight spilled into the imperial tomb, bringing it some life.

The first to enter was the Monster Lord, followed by a large group of monsters.

Zu An recognized the monsters gathered around the Monster Lord. On his right was the War Priest, and on his left was the Shadow Monster King. The Shadow Monster King’s incredible prowess had left a lasting impression on him in the Sealed Land. The War Priest and the Shadow Monster King were likely the Monster Lord’s strongest subordinates here.

There were also others whom Zu An had clashed with in the future, such as the Demonic Motherbug, Manipulator of Death, Iron Fist Rock, Scorpion King, Thousand-Footed Elder, Shadowhorror Devil, Plague Monarch, Doomsday Spirit... He had crossed blows with them in the future, but he hadn't thought that they were all the Monster Lord’s subordinates in this era.

The Lord of Slaughter turned grim. “I didn’t expect half of the Eighteen Monster Generals to have defected to your side.”
