(To be revised later) But the little girl only agreed to take them to her own door, because she was rubbing her eyes and wanted to go back to sleep.

The two Players definitely weren’t willing to accept that, so they simply picked her up and carried her toward the room she’d mentioned.

The little girl’s mouth was covered so she couldn’t make a sound. When the two of them entered the room she’d talked about and came up empty-handed, the woman’s expression changed. She just flung the girl straight down onto the floor.

The little girl was thrown so hard she couldn’t get up for a moment. The woman only looked down at her coldly. "Playing us for fools, huh?"

The little girl puckered her lips, on the verge of tears, but the man leaned in close to her. "Don’t cry, or I’ll cut off your nose, you little freak."

The girl was about to burst into loud sobs, but at that moment a voice cut in. "Two adults bullying one kid, and a kid who isn’t even ten yet. You really don’t feel ashamed?"

The two of them turned around. There was an unfamiliar woman standing at the doorway.

"Mind your own business. We’re each looking for our own stuff; we don’t interfere with each other." the man said.

"That won’t do. I’m the warm-hearted type, and I hate evil with a passion. I can’t stand watching people bully kids like this." The woman flicked the long hair hanging over her chest and beckoned to the little girl. "Little sister, come over to big sis."

The little girl stared straight at her. "Auntie, your boobs are huge."

That sudden line made all three Players freeze for a second. The long-haired woman narrowed her eyes, scrutinizing the child on the floor.

"Now you see it too." The man also sneaked a glance at the woman’s chest. "Nobody who lives here is normal."

"No matter how abnormal, she’s still a kid." The long-haired woman didn’t take offense. Instead she turned to the other woman. "Just knock her out. Dealing with a child isn’t hard—why do something this ugly?"

The woman’s sympathy seemed to flash and disappear. The little girl sat on the floor, looking up at these three tall adults, scared enough to shrink back.

"We have to bring her if we want to move around freely." The man reached out and grabbed her, planning to carry her along while they looked for the Bone Remains.

But just then the twins came running out of the room. They tossed a few water balloons into the room; the liquid that splashed out stank so badly that the powerful physical disgust made all three of them instinctively put on their Props. The man threw the girl down as well, but the moment he let go, the whole room suddenly sank into darkness. When the lights came back on, only the little girl was left in the room.

"Ha! Serves you right!" The twins clapped their hands in delight. Then they rushed back into the room, hoisted the little girl up, and used her as a target, throwing the ornaments from the room at her.

The little girl was hit over and over and cried nonstop. Bruises quickly bloomed on her face; even the corner of her mouth began to bleed. In no time her voice weakened, but this time nobody came to save her.

The twins played for a while and then lost interest. They shook out their hands and left, leaving the little girl hanging there alone in the room.

The servants quickly came after her, tied up her hands and feet, and dragged her back. Though they said nothing, their faces were full of displeasure, and they didn’t hold back with their strength.

The sick girl screamed in pain, muttering incessantly at the same time. The others all pretended they hadn’t heard a thing, hauled her back to her room, tied her to the bed, and called it done. They even stuffed a towel into her mouth.

Once the manor grew quiet again, the ten-year-old boy called Tiantian snuck into the room. He walked to the bedside, first stared silently at the sick girl for a moment, then said, "You’re not getting out. Once you run away, you lose your value, and you’ll be killed."

"If you just want to die, you might as well jump straight down from upstairs. No need to turn yourself into a lunatic."

He sighed like an adult, untied the ropes on her body, and was just about to pull the towel out of her mouth when the girl suddenly flipped over and tackled him to the floor. She grabbed his neck in a vicious choke and snarled, "You’re the one who should die!"

Tiantian’s eyes rolled back as she choked him. No matter how he struggled, he couldn’t break free. He could only reach his hand toward Xiao Xiao, who had somehow appeared at the doorway.

Xiao Xiao was already bigger than the sick girl who was two years older than him, but he only watched the scene, colder than someone watching a murder.

In a short while Tiantian stopped moving, but the little girl from next door came out and asked Xiao Xiao why he was standing at the door.

Xiao Xiao soothed her with a single sentence, then hurried into the room, pulled the sick girl off, and gave Tiantian a kick. "If you’re not dead, get up."

That still didn’t vent his anger. He stared at the girl coldly. "You’re really useless. What a waste of two hands—you can’t even choke a person to death."

By now the sick girl had calmed down. She curled up at the foot of the bed and sank back into her own world.

Tiantian came to, glaring at Xiao Xiao with hatred in his eyes.

Xiao Xiao didn’t care. He snorted and walked out.

They made a mess of things going back and forth all night, and even when dawn came, no servants went upstairs to check.

"These people are all insane, aren’t they?" The two Players who entered the manor after Xu Huo had also been watching the show all night. The female Player said, "At first I thought those three kids were really pitiful. Didn’t expect every one of them to be abnormal."

Her male companion said, "People are locked in here and not allowed out—obviously there’s a reason. Let’s focus on finding the Bone Remains first. The one on the second floor is fake; the real one must be somewhere else."

The two of them worked together to check all the rooms in the manor, and discovered those sealed-off spaces as well. They already knew before coming that this place belonged to the Governor, so of course they didn’t dare recklessly destroy anything. They decided to find someone to ask.

The servants were naturally the best targets, but when they went downstairs planning to head for the servants’ quarters, they realized they were lost. The corridor that had been perfectly clear suddenly stretched to many times its original length. Corridor linked to corridor, never reaching an end; every corner turned revealed another corner, and they just kept circling in place.

After enough circling, they couldn’t find the servants’ quarters, and even the way back upstairs was gone.

"Uncle, Auntie, what are you?" The little girl’s voice suddenly sounded behind them. The two turned around in surprise, exchanged a look, and the woman went over, crouching down gently to meet the girl’s eyes. "Little sister, we’re guests who came to visit, but we accidentally got lost. How did you end up here?"

The little girl turned and pointed back. "I was hungry, so I came down to look for food. You can go out from there."

The two of them looked up. The corridor didn’t look any different from before. They took out a few candies. "Little sister, if you show us the way, these candies will be yours, okay?"

The little girl nodded and walked ahead to lead them. Strangely, the manor placed no restrictions on her, and the two Players followed her out without issue.

Seeing an opening, the man said, "Do you know if there’s another statue exactly like the one on the second floor?"

The little girl stared eagerly at the candies in their hands, and only after she got them did she count on her fingers. "I saw one upstairs, on the floor above the second floor."

"That’s the third floor." The two Players exchanged a look. The third floor was where the kids lived. They’d just checked it earlier and found nothing.

"Why don’t you take us there?" The man pulled out some more candies.
