Juntian Mirror
Chapter 307: The God Slaughter Hall is for Slaying Gods
Chu Fan hadn’t expected their senses to be so sharp.
But since they had discovered him, Chu Fan certainly wasn’t going to let them live. As for whether killing them would attract more people from the God Slaughter Hall, he decided not to worry about that for now.
‘Should I let these people wreak havoc on the Eastern Domain just because I’m afraid of the God Slaughter Hall?’
‘They’re planning to wipe out the Six Sects and Eight Gates.’
Chu Fan grabbed the sinister-looking man and tossed him into the Juntian Mirror World. Then, while still under the effects of Invisibility, his hands formed a seal as he unleashed the Inner Lion Seal Divine Techniques.
In the very instant the other five men were panicking over the sinister-looking man’s disappearance, a massive black Lion Shadow suddenly appeared before them.
The Lion Shadow tilted its head back and roared.
The five old men were instantly drained of all their life force, turning into five desiccated corpses.
It wasn’t just them.
At that moment, every single person on the central island had their life force drained away.
Chu Fan then became visible, pulled the sinister-looking man back out of the Juntian Mirror World, and slammed him hard onto the ground.
The Juntian Mirror World was filled with Death Qi and was uninhabitable for living beings.
Fortunately, the sinister-looking man’s Cultivation had reached the Void Realm. Since Chu Fan had only kept him in the Juntian Mirror World for a short time, he was still alive, but he had been tainted by Death Qi.
“Who are you?”
Chu Fan had changed his appearance upon returning to the Eastern Domain, so it was perfectly normal that the man didn’t recognize him. Of course, even if Chu Fan were using his true face, the sinister man probably wouldn’t have known who he was.
“Who I am isn’t important. Right now, I ask, you answer. Answer well, and there’s a reward. Answer poorly, and you’ll end up just like them.”
Hearing Chu Fan’s words, the sinister man looked at the shriveled corpses of the other five men, his heart pounding with terror.
“Are you from the God Slaughter Hall?”
“I…”
Not even Chu Fan had expected this. The man had just started to speak when black blood began to pour from his seven orifices. In that instant, he was dead.
‘Was it because of the Death Qi?’
Chu Fan moved to another island and captured several more men. They were incredibly defiant at first, but before Chu Fan had to use more than a couple of his methods, they were all on their knees, begging for mercy.
The moment Chu Fan mentioned the God Slaughter Hall, they died in the exact same manner as the sinister man.
He could have attributed the sinister man’s death to the Death Qi in the Juntian Mirror World, but what about these men?
‘So, the only possibility is that a restriction has been placed on their memories,’ he thought. ‘Once a keyword set by the restriction is triggered, they bleed black blood from their seven orifices and die.’
Chu Fan didn’t know how to create such a restriction, but he had heard of it. It was a technique forbidden throughout the entire Cultivation Realm.
This confirmed it—the God Slaughter Hall was by no means a benevolent organization.
Chu Fan decided to try again, this time avoiding the keyword “God Slaughter Hall.”
He went to yet another island and captured two more men. In front of one, he used his sword to carve the other down to a skeleton of white bone.
The remaining man’s face went white with terror.
“What is your Saint Heir’s name?” Chu Fan asked.
“We have four Saint Heirs. I… I don’t know which one you’re asking about.”
“Four Saint Heirs? What’s the name of the one who sent you to the Eastern Domain?”
“I… I don’t know. I… I only know his surname is Ji.”
“What did he send you to the Eastern Domain to do?”
“To establish a bridgehead, kill as many Eastern Domain Cultivators as possible, and… we’ll be rewarded if we can destroy a few Sects.”
“Besides your forces here, has your Saint Heir sent anyone else to other parts of the Eastern Domain?” Chu Fan asked.
“I… I don’t know.”
“It seems you’d like a taste of being flayed to the bone as well?”
“I… I really don’t know! Spare me, my lord, spare me!”
“Then how do you contact your superiors?”
“It’s the Tributors who serve the Saint Heirs. They can contact the Saint Heir. We just follow orders.”
“Then where is your main base?”
“I…”
“POP—”
With a soft pop, he too died, black blood leaking from his seven orifices.
Chu Fan sighed. ‘I wasn’t careful enough. I should have dealt with the six on the central island last.’
‘Clearly, the ones on the other islands are just small fry. They don’t know much of anything.’
There was no point in continuing the interrogations.
With his sword in hand, he moved from island to island. They were all just minions; none could withstand a single blow. He was simply venting his frustration.
The Juntian Sword took the opportunity to devour numerous weapons, but they were all too low-grade. Even after killing thousands, not a single nick on its blade was repaired.
‘It’s a shame I don’t know any devastating Killing Arrays,’ he thought. ‘Otherwise, I would have set one up on Three Mountains Island. When the next wave from the God Slaughter Hall comes to the Eastern Domain, they might use this place as a base again.’
After leaving Celestial Wave Lake, he bypassed the camp at the ferry landing. Instead, he flew to the nearest County City, found an auction house, and showed the Mo Jade to an attendant, telling him to summon Liu Yicai.
Of his eight subordinates, Jing’an was guarding Shuoyue City and assisting Jin Chuhong with state affairs while she was in seclusion. The other seven were all stationed at the camp by Celestial Wave Lake.
When Liu Yicai received the message that someone with a Mo Jade was waiting for him at the auction house in the County City, he immediately gathered the other six and headed over.
Chu Fan didn’t have to wait long before all seven of them appeared before him.
“Your humble subordinates greet you, my lord!” the seven said in unison, cupping their fists in a bow.
“I have two pieces of news for you, one good and one bad. Which would you like to hear first?”
“My lord, we’ve had far too much bad news lately. Please, tell us the good news first,” Ji Bufan said.
Chu Fan smiled and nodded. “The good news is that you can dismantle the camp by the lake. Just leave a few people behind for covert surveillance. Don’t get excited, let me finish. About an hour ago, every last person on Three Mountains Island was killed.”
The seven men stared at Chu Fan, their mouths agape in utter disbelief.
All of them had been guarding the shores of Celestial Wave Lake. They had attempted attacks before, but were always forced to retreat with heavy losses. That was why they had been forced to make camp and maintain a standoff, simply to prevent the enemy from striking another Sect.
And yet, their lord was saying he had single-handedly slaughtered all the invaders in Celestial Wave Lake.
‘Just how powerful has our lord become?’
“And the bad news?” Ji Bufan asked.
“The bad news is that those people were merely the vanguard for the God Slaughter Hall’s invasion of the Eastern Domain. Now that they’re all dead, it’s highly likely the next group they send will be even stronger, with more elite troops. I don’t have much information on this God Slaughter Hall, but judging by their methods, they are anything but benevolent. Compared to the Red Blood Mansion, their tactics are even more cruel and they act with even greater impunity.”
Ji Bufan suddenly looked up at Chu Fan. “My lord, did you say the God Slaughter Hall?”
“That’s right. The God Slaughter Hall.”
“Your humble subordinate knows of this organization.”
“Oh?” Chu Fan was somewhat surprised.
“Many clans and factions in the Southern Domain have already surrendered to the God Slaughter Hall. It would be no exaggeration to say that the God Slaughter Hall already controls half of the Southern Domain. They only began to grow there in recent years; people in the Southern Domain first heard of the God Slaughter Hall a little over six years ago,” Ji Bufan explained.
“What kind of organization are they? Where is their headquarters? What is the Cultivation level of their strongest members? What is their overall power?” Chu Fan fired off a series of questions.
But Ji Bufan shook his head. “My lord, although I have sent many people to the Southern Domain, it has only been a short time, and we haven’t uncovered much in-depth information. I don’t know much about the God Slaughter Hall’s overall strength. I only know two things for certain. First, their headquarters is likely in the Central Domain, or on the border between the Central and Southern Domains. Second, they recruit anyone, and the more malicious a person is, the more they seem to want them. Their motto is: ‘What the Gods forbid, I shall achieve. By what right do the Gods presume to rule the Three Realms?'”
