Chapter 277: A Half-Month of Soaring Cultivation
Chapter 277: Chapter 277: A Half-Month of Soaring Cultivation
It took Chu Fan more than half an hour to deal with the thousands of Flying Beasts. Far from being tired, his fighting spirit had only grown stronger.
Not only had his Cultivation risen by a tier, but the slaughter had also solidified his understanding of the Integration Realm, which in turn boosted his Combat Power.
Looking at the mountain of Flying Beast corpses piled on the ground, Chu Fan was actually somewhat grateful to them.
’If I can raise my Cultivation this quickly through slaughter, I want to keep fighting until killing no longer works.’
Unfortunately, the number of these Flying Beasts was ultimately limited.
Sheathing his Juntian Sword, Chu Fan finally noticed that the White Fox had changed.
Its size was the same, but it had somehow grown an extra tail.
"How did you grow another tail?" Chu Fan asked, confused.
"Because my Cultivation increased, too!" the White Fox said smugly.
"Once I grow one more tail, I’ll be able to take human form. Then I can cultivate just like you."
Of course, Chu Fan knew that Demon Beasts could transform into human form. He had seen plenty back on Ten Thousand Beasts Mountain, but most Demon Beasts had their own pride and disliked taking on a human appearance.
"So, you’re saying that while I was killing those Flying Beasts, you were also absorbing their True Spirit Qi? You little thing, are you using me?"
"This isn’t ’using,’ it’s a win-win. If I hadn’t told you that you could raise your Cultivation by killing them, you wouldn’t have known, would you?"
Fair enough. Chu Fan had to concede the White Fox’s point.
"Hey, let’s not rush to meet up with them. How about I take you to kill more beasts and raise your Cultivation?"
The White Fox’s words tempted Chu Fan, but he also remembered the purpose of their visit to this Secret Realm.
"If I go off hunting beasts, won’t the others get worried?"
"It’ll be fine. Just give them a heads-up. In half a month, you’ll have enough time to raise your Cultivation to the Integration Realm Peak."
"Really?"
Chu Fan grew excited at the White Fox’s words.
’Half a month to raise my Cultivation to the Integration Realm Peak? Back when I was in the Divine Separation Realm, it took me over half a year to break through to the Integration Realm. I advanced three Tiers thanks to my intimacy with Leng Yingxue, and only reached the Peak after unsealing the third layer of the Juntian Mirror and taking a Primordial Spirit Pill. If I had relied on my own Cultivation, it might have taken three to five years just to reach the Integration Realm.’
How could Chu Fan not be thrilled at the prospect of reaching the Integration Realm Tier Nine Peak in just half a month, simply by killing beasts here?
"Of course it’s true. When have I ever lied to you?"
"Alright!"
Chu Fan made his decision instantly. Taking the White Fox, he soared into the air and caught up with Yan Ying and the others in a little over fifteen minutes, before they had even reached the mountain range.
"You killed that whole swarm of Flying Beasts so quickly?" Wei Mian asked, somewhat surprised.
He had killed a Flying Beast himself earlier, so he knew how tough they were. And yet, only a little more than half an hour had passed, and Chu Fan had already caught up.
There had been thousands of Flying Beasts, enough to blot out the sun, yet he had killed them all. Wei Mian was, of course, utterly astonished.
Chu Fan nodded.
Ignoring Guo Zi’s angry glare, he called Yan Ying and Ye Xiaohan over.
"I’m leaving for half a month," Chu Fan said, getting straight to the point.
"Leaving for half a month? Why?" Yan Ying asked, not understanding.
Wei Mian and Ye Xiaohan also looked at Chu Fan with confusion.
"I’m faster than all of you, after all. I figure I’ll go on ahead to find those three locations and get the lay of the land. You can stick with the Imperial Grandson’s group or go your own way. Either way, I’ll find you all in half a month," Chu Fan said, not offering much more explanation.
"Are you saying I’m a burden?" Yan Ying was clearly unhappy.
"Nonsense. This Secret Realm has its dangers, but nothing fatal. How could I think you’re a burden? You’ve seen how vast this place is, and the map might not even be accurate. If I take the time to find those locations now, it will save us all time searching together later. Once we deal with those problems, we’ll be free to seek our own fortunes, right?" Chu Fan said.
"Yan Ying, Chu Fan has a point," Wei Mian chimed in, agreeing. "He’s faster than us. Searching alone, he’ll definitely find them much quicker than if we all went together. Let’s solve these pressing matters first, so we can focus on finding our own opportunities later."
Seeing that Yan Ying was coming around, Chu Fan pulled her aside and whispered, "Guo Zi and his group will probably stick to the Imperial Grandson’s side the whole time. This is a rare chance for them to get close to him; they won’t pass it up. If I stay with them, there’s bound to be unnecessary conflict later. This way, I can find Celestial Wave Valley, then take you directly to get the Cloud Flower. Once we’ve dealt with that, we can split off from them. It’ll be just the two of us going to the Nine-Layered Tower and then seeking out opportunities. No one else. How does that sound?"
Hearing that she could be alone with Chu Fan, Yan Ying’s anger finally turned to joy.
"You promised half a month, so don’t be late. But how are you going to find us afterwards?"
"I have this little one, don’t worry!"
Yan Ying trusted Chu Fan, so she agreed to his plan to leave alone.
Chu Fan bid them farewell, then soared into the air with the White Fox, speeding off in the direction it indicated.
A little over two hours later, he and the White Fox arrived at a dark, deep forest.
It was called the Black Forest because its trees were incredibly tall—the shortest were at least two to three hundred feet high—and their crowns blotted out the sky.
Inside the forest, it was pitch-black.
However, this forest was unlike any jungle Chu Fan had ever visited. There was no tangled undergrowth; instead, the trees stood far apart from one another.
Walking through this forest felt almost no different than walking across an open field.
He had only taken a few steps when the deafening roar of a tiger echoed from ahead.
Then, he saw a field of eyes ahead, gleaming with a cold light like countless fireflies.
With Chu Fan’s current Spiritual Power, the darkness of the forest was no different from broad daylight. He could see hundreds of Tiger Beasts, each as sturdy as a small hill.
The Tiger Beasts had black-and-white fur. Each one stood over ten feet tall, and their fangs looked like two sharp Long Swords.
"Kill them all, and your Cultivation should rise by about a Half Tier."
"Their Combat Power is clearly much greater than the Flying Beasts, so why will it only raise me by a Half Tier?"
"Going from Tier One to Tier Two is completely different from going from Tier Two to Tier Three! Of course the amount of True Spirit Qi required increases."
Chu Fan shook his head in embarrassment. He’d just been lectured by the little creature.
Wanting to save time, Chu Fan didn’t dwell on it. He drew his Juntian Sword and charged straight at the pack of Tiger Beasts.
The White Fox nestled in Chu Fan’s arms, clinging tightly to his chest.
The Tiger Beasts were tall, powerful, and sturdy. With every step they took, the very ground seemed to tremble.
Every roar shook the heavens and the earth.
’Integration Realm Combat Power?’
After the foremost Tiger Beast launched an attack, Chu Fan immediately had a judgment of the pack’s Combat Power.
’Fighting hundreds of these Tiger Beasts is not going to be easy.’
Just as he expected, as soon as he evaded one Tiger Beast’s pounce, another’s attack followed immediately from behind.
Despite their massive bodies, the Tiger Beasts were exceptionally agile. And as their front paws swiped, what struck first were waves of biting Mystic Power.
