Chapter 276: Chapter 276: Killing Flying Beasts to Increase Cultivation

With his Level 36 Spiritual Power, his eyes could see for hundreds of miles if he stood high enough.

When he spread his Spiritual Power while standing on the ground, everything within a fifty-li radius became perfectly clear. He could even sense activity up to a hundred li away.

After arriving here from the ship’s cabin, he saw there was no Teleportation Array on the ground.

Furthermore, according to Long Jingyao, the entry point into the Secret Realm was different every time they stepped through the ship’s cabin.

This made Chu Fan quite curious about the teleportation mechanism. Unfortunately, his current Realm was still too low for him to possibly comprehend it.

The five of them flew toward the mountain range together. Directly ahead of them was another group of people.

Their leader was the very person Long Jingyao had mentioned: Guo Zi, the eldest grandson of the Duke Xiao’s Family, who had the highest Cultivation of anyone entering the Secret Realm this time.

"SCREECH!"

At the sound of the cry, the first to react was the White Fox nestled in Chu Fan’s arms. The fox wriggled out from his robes, its gaze fixed ahead.

Now, everyone could see a flock of unknown, bird-like beasts filling the sky ahead of them like a dark, oppressive storm cloud, flying in their direction.

"Protect His Highness!"

Before Chu Fan could react, Guo Zi shouted, and his group turned back, forming a protective circle around Long Yinwen.

"Chu Fan! Wei Mian! You two will lure those beasts away! We will guard the Imperial Grandson." Guo Zi’s tone was imperious, like a commander ordering his subordinates.

Chu Fan frowned. ’Sucking up is your business, but what right do you have to order me around?’

Of course, he ignored Guo Zi and simply stood to one side, watching them with a leisurely air.

In the blink of an eye, the flock of Flying Beasts was upon them.

The Flying Beasts had four wings, two horns, and four claws on their underbellies. Their mouths were like the snouts of boars, complete with tusks, and their wingspans were a full ten feet.

A dozen or so Flying Beasts attacked the group.

The flapping of their four wings created a gale that swept toward the cultivators, and the beasts used the winds to dive down upon them.

Their sharp claws slashed down.

Everyone but Chu Fan drew their weapons and engaged the Flying Beasts in combat.

Chu Fan, however, grabbed Yan Ying’s hand and pulled her back sharply.

"Chu Fan, you dare defy my order?" Guo Zi roared at him, all while battling a Flying Beast.

"Who the hell do you think you are? Why should I listen to you?" Chu Fan retorted with a sneer.

’If Guo Zi had asked nicely for everyone to fight the Flying Beasts together, Chu Fan would have complied without a word. But not only was this punk trying to suck up, he actually wanted him and Wei Mian to lure the beasts away. Wasn’t that just treating them as cannon fodder?’

’No way was Chu Fan going to listen to him.’

"Brother, go kill them! These Flying Beasts have True Spirit Qi in their bodies. If you can kill this whole flock, your Cultivation will increase by a tier. Plus, you’re wearing the Celestial Dragon Armor—they can’t hurt you at all."

Chu Fan was startled by the White Fox’s words. "How do you know I’m wearing Battle Armor? And how do you know it’s the Celestial Dragon Armor?"

He was the only one who knew about this; he had never told a soul.

Furthermore, the Battle Armor was currently concealed within his body, so it was impossible for others to see he was wearing it.

The most shocking part was that the White Fox not only knew about the armor, but it even knew it was called the Celestial Dragon Armor.

How could he not be stunned?

"I don’t know how I know... I can just sense it."

’This little creature really is extraordinary.’ Chu Fan chose to believe its words.

He drew the Juntian Sword and shouted, "Leave these beasts to me! Get His Highness to safety and retreat!"

With that, he soared into the air.

"Headless Dragons Against the Wind!"

With a swing of his sword, a Dragon Shadow shot into the sky and plunged directly into the flock of Flying Beasts.

The flock of Flying Beasts blotted out the sun, numbering at least in the thousands. As Chu Fan charged into their midst, the entire swarm erupted in agitation.

Down below, the dozen or so people, including Wei Mian, had finished off the Flying Beasts that had been tangling with them. They stared up in amazement at Chu Fan, who was cutting an unstoppable swath through the beast horde.

"Move out!"

Seeing that Chu Fan had single-handedly held back the entire flock of Flying Beasts, Guo Zi had no intention of helping. He waved his hand, preparing to lead the others away with Long Yinwen.

"I’m going to help Brother Chu," Wei Mian said, about to leap into the air.

"All of you, stand down! Leave these beasts to me. Accompany His Highness the Grand Prince and retreat toward the mountains," Chu Fan’s voice boomed from above.

His voice was accompanied by the furious roars and agonized shrieks of the Flying Beasts.

Wei Mian landed back on the ground, his gaze turning to Yan Ying. "Are we really not going to help? There are so many Flying Beasts. No matter how valiant he is, how long will it take him to kill them all alone?"

"If he says he doesn’t need help, then he doesn’t. I trust him," Yan Ying said calmly, her eyes on Chu Fan tearing through the horde. "Let’s go. We’ll retreat into the mountains for now."

By now, Guo Zi’s group had already escorted Long Yinwen some distance away, leaving only Wei Mian and Ye Xiaohan by Yan Ying’s side.

Chu Fan’s rampage through the horde wasn’t because the Flying Beasts were pushovers. To be precise, each of these beasts had Combat Power comparable to the Divine Separation Realm on average.

It was just that their attack patterns were rather simple. Moreover, with Chu Fan in the center of the swarm, despite their vast numbers, only the few dozen closest to him could attack at any one time. The rest were unable to pose any threat.

After the Juntian Sword had devoured so much Hongmeng Creation Iron and over a hundred other blades, its appearance hadn’t changed much, but its sharpness had increased significantly.

What’s more, Chu Fan was now in the Integration Realm. Combined with the power of his Walking Dragon Sword Shadow technique, killing these Flying Beasts was as easy as slicing through melons.

And since he was wearing the Celestial Dragon Armor, he had no fear of the Flying Beasts’ attacks. How could he be anything but unstoppable?

As he killed one Flying Beast after another, Chu Fan felt a wisp of aura drift from each dying creature into his body, where it was absorbed by his Dantian.

Chu Fan was now certain the White Fox had been telling the truth. If he really killed this entire flock, his Cultivation might actually increase by a whole tier.

What Chu Fan didn’t know, however, was that as his Cultivation increased more and more rapidly with each Flying Beast he slew, the White Fox nestled in his robes was feeling utterly blissful.

In reality, the White Fox was absorbing most of that aura. Chu Fan himself was receiving less than a tenth of it.

To Chu Fan’s surprise, as time passed and he killed more and more of the beasts, the rest of the flock showed no fear or any sign of retreating.

Instead, the slaughter only stoked their ferocity, and the Combat Power of the flock actually increased.

He cycled through the first five forms of the Walking Dragon Sword Shadow. From a distance, one could only see a Dragon Shadow darting through the horde as the corpses of Flying Beasts rained down from the sky.

Chu Fan, meanwhile, was fighting with exhilarating abandon. He could clearly feel his Cultivation steadily rising, and the Sword in his hand growing ever more deadly.

His body was struck countless times by the beasts’ claws and tusks, but he remained completely unharmed. Even when their razor-sharp claws raked across his body, he felt nothing at all.

They didn’t even manage to tear his clothes in the slightest.

’This reward from the Juntian Mirror is truly incredible. It really lives up to its name as the number one Battle Armor in the Divine Realm. If I can fully repair this armor in the future, won’t I be completely invincible?’
