The Memories of Adam and Eva!!! [Part 2]

"Never mind."

Adam’s smile widened slightly.

He had a feeling that Eva was going to take some time getting used to this.

The woman who had faced danger without hesitation was apparently far more vulnerable to affection than she wanted anyone to know.

Adam looked toward the darkened sky.

The divine disturbance was still raging.

Yet the mood between them had changed completely.

A strange warmth had settled between their hearts.

"Say, Eva."

Eva immediately narrowed her eyes.

"What is it now? You want to say something more."

Adam looked at her seriously.

"After we solve this problem, why don’t we get married?"

Eva froze.

Again.

Her blue eyes widened so much that Adam almost laughed.

"WHAT?!"

Her voice was even louder this time.

"Ummm... W... We just became lovers and now you want to marry?"

Her hands moved helplessly as she struggled to process his words.

Adam couldn’t help smiling.

He had always been straightforward.

Once he decided something, he preferred to say it rather than spend years wondering what might have happened if he had.

Her blue eyes widened so much that Adam almost laughed.

"Well, I have always thought about it."

Eva stared at him.

Adam continued.

"So now that I got the flow going, better say it now. So what do you think, Eva? Will you marry me?"

Eva’s expression softened.

She scratched her head again, looking at him with an exasperated smile.

Of course.

This was Adam.

He had always been like this.

Once he decided to move forward, he simply charged ahead without worrying about whether the other person had caught up.

She should have expected it.

Eva sighed.

Then she smiled.

"Sure, but you better make me happy."

Her smile was bright enough to make even the darkness surrounding them seem less oppressive.

Adam returned the smile.

"Of course, my love."

For a brief moment, the two simply stood there together.

No grand ceremony.

No witnesses.

No elaborate vows.

Only two people who had finally spoken the feelings they had carried in their hearts.

And somehow, that was enough.

...

The scenery changed.

The warmth of the previous moment vanished.

The world twisted.

The colors disappeared beneath a storm of darkness and blinding light.

Victor felt something strike his heart.

Pain.

It came suddenly.

Deeply.

He didn’t understand why.

This wasn’t his life.

These weren’t his memories.

And yet the pain felt real.

Too real.

Victor’s breathing became heavier as another voice echoed inside his mind.

Adam’s voice.

But this time, it wasn’t playful.

It wasn’t teasing.

It carried the exhaustion of someone standing at the very edge of his life.

...

I know I’m not the hero type, but still, for you, I will move forward with everything I’ve got.

To the very end, this world that you wish to protect, I will protect it for you instead.

So please...

Let me act cool for this one last time.

The scene appeared before Victor’s eyes.

Adam stood before a terrifying divine object.

It floated in the center of a vast space, surrounded by chaotic light.

The light was beautiful.

And deadly.

Every pulse of that radiance distorted the surrounding space.

Adam raised his sword above his head.

His hands were already trembling.

His body had reached its limit.

Yet he still smiled.

Then he brought the sword down with everything he had.

The blade struck the divine object.

A tremendous burst of energy erupted.

Adam tried to absorb the chaotic light pouring from it.

Pain immediately flooded his body.

His fingers felt as though they were being crushed from within.

His bones groaned beneath the overwhelming force.

His breathing became increasingly difficult.

His flesh began to deteriorate beneath the violent divine energy.

Yet he refused to stop.

Damn it.

I can’t let it end like this.

Not after acting all cool in front of her.

Even if my soul shatters, it doesn’t matter anymore.

I will save this world!

This world where we met.

Where we had so many great adventures.

Where we exchanged our promise for the future.

How can I let such a wonderful world end?

Adam gritted his teeth.

Every muscle in his body screamed at him to stop.

But he pushed forward anyway.

His hands tightened around his sword.

He poured everything he had left into that single strike.

Then—

Crack!

His sword shattered.

Millions of fragments scattered through the chaotic light.

For a moment, Adam simply stared at the broken weapon.

His beloved sword.

The weapon that had accompanied him through countless battles.

But there was no time to mourn it.

Adam released the broken handle.

He reached forward with what remained of his bare hands and seized the divine object.

If he couldn’t destroy it...

Then he would take it down with him.

There was still one final card left.

Magic had never been his forte.

Compared to Eva, his knowledge of magic was laughable.

But there was one spell he knew.

One spell he could still use.

Spatial transfer.

The only magic he knew.

Adam gathered the last remnants of his strength.

He didn’t intend to teleport himself away.

Instead, he would move the divine object itself.

To another dimension.

A place where its destructive power could no longer harm anyone.

Even if that meant he would be the only one who suffered.

Adam turned his head.

He looked toward Eva.

For the first time, his expression became completely peaceful.

He smiled.

Then his body and the divine object disappeared into another dimension.

A warm light enveloped him.

It was beautiful.

Almost peaceful.

Yet its power was enough to destroy everything it touched.

Adam’s body trembled.

His soul began to feel as though it were breaking apart.

Every sensation was fading.

His strength.

His consciousness.

His very existence.

But before everything disappeared, he whispered the words that mattered most.

"I love you, Eva."

A smile remained on his face.

At least...

He had been able to say that much.
