Wang Jue couldn't help but praise him: "Bandit Bro, your sneak attack was truly seamless!"

"Just the basics!"

Chen Shu said, "Sneak attacks come down to three things: stability, precision, and brutality!"

With that, he launched into a little Bandit Lecture for the two of them!

Both immediately perked up, simultaneously offering their own insights on sneak attacks.

The three exchanged and corroborated ideas, sitting down to discuss the Dao — though the content of their discussion would make anyone's blood run cold.

Anyone who didn't know better would genuinely mistake them for top students!

Yu Jiang, still collapsed on the floor, twitched at the corner of his mouth.

Was this really a student dormitory? Not even the Troublemaker Dorm was supposed to be this absurd!

He lay completely still, steadily recovering control of his body.

Right now, he was fully paralyzed and couldn't even summon his contract spirits.

Just then.

Chen Shu cleared his throat and said:

"But at the end of the day, I believe the key to a sneak attack lies in diverting attention!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a ball of lightning shot over.

Yu Jiang, who had nearly finished recovering, convulsed again, foamed at the mouth, and promptly passed out.

"..."

The two looked over at him together, asking, "You didn't actually send him off for good, did you?"

"How could I? My control is top-tier!"

Chen Shu shrugged and said, "Just gave him a little lesson."

"Er Ha, drag him downstairs!"

"Awwooo!"

The husky, brimming with excitement, hopped right down and trotted over to Yu Jiang's side.

A fireball automatically condensed in its mouth, aimed directly at Yu Jiang's head...

"God damn it!"

Chen Shu jolted, immediately lunging to tackle the husky.

If that fireball had launched, Yu Jiang would basically be done for.

"You're seriously not gonna rest until you get me thrown in prison, are you?!"

"Awwooo!"

The husky looked utterly innocent, not understanding what it had done wrong...

Chen Shu forcibly recalled it back into his beast space.

"Give me a break..."

He sighed, grabbed Yu Jiang by the clothes, and dragged him out.

Soon, he reached the ground floor of the dorm.

Yu Jiang, looking like a dead dog, was tossed right beside the dorm manager Uncle Wang.

"Uncle, leaving him with you for now!"

"Hm?"

Uncle Wang turned his head, a flicker of surprise in his eyes.

"A freshman? Not bad!"

He had assumed the three newcomers would definitely be the ones getting beaten and thrown out.

Yet here the upperclassman Yu Jiang was the first one out!

"Provoke me, and even the principal would get carried out on a stretcher!!"

Chen Shu waved his hand casually, the full bearing of a bandit on display!

"Hey! President Qin, there's a student here who..."

"Uncle!"

Chen Shu jolted, the corner of his mouth twitching.

You damn well have no martial honor, snitching right to my face!

Uncle Wang shook his head, pocketing his phone. "Cut the courting-death talk, understand?"

"My bad, just talking big..."

Chen Shu laughed dryly and turned to head back into the dorm.

"This kid..."

Uncle Wang shook his head. As for Yu Jiang beside him, he paid him no mind at all — just knocked out. This kind of thing happened all the time in the Honors Dorm.

...

Chen Shu returned to the dorm room. The three acted as if nothing had happened.

He held a bottle of blue potion in his hand, a system notification appearing in his mind.

"Sage-level bonus effect: Lightning-attribute skill paralysis effect enhanced by 100%! One contract spirit may only use this once!"

Chen Shu paused. Although it didn't add to skill level, the effect was still immensely powerful.

Unfortunately, only one bottle could be taken — since the same potion formula shared proficiency progress, the Sage-level effect could only trigger once.

Even if he mixed more Lightning Potions of different grades, there'd be no additional effect.

Chen Shu poured the Lightning Potion down the husky's throat and began mixing the remaining potions.

Most of his potion codex entries were at Grandmaster level, allowing an additional 25% dose — another significant boost.

...

The next day, since there were no classes, Chen Shu slept straight through to noon.

The difficulty of mixing Black Iron-grade potions had skyrocketed; basically every batch required over an hour, consuming an enormous amount of time.

"Morning!"

Chen Shu yawned as he left his room.

"You two watching this show first thing in the morning?"

His mouth fell open a little. From the TV came the constant sound of "Makka Pakka..."[1]

"Preserving childlike innocence!"

The two were watching with great relish, saying it with complete seriousness.

"Right, Chen Shu, I heard military training's starting soon. Did you know?"

"In this heat, military training's basically a death sentence! Where's it being held — which Beast Taming Arena? I'm thinking of making a little contribution for the freshmen..."

Chen Shu's eyes spun as he took out a bottle of grey potion, rubbing the body of the bottle between his fingers.

"What's that?"

Wang Jue glanced at the potion, finding it somewhat novel.

"Hm?!"

A'Liang, however, shuddered — his instincts detected danger on the spot, his heart thumping wildly.

"What is that?!"

"A trifling little toy!"

Chen Shu shook his head, his eyes filled with reverence. This was the very foundation on which the Nanjiang Bandit stood.

Wang Jue looked utterly confused, asking, "A'Liang, is it really worth being that scared?"

"I'm getting the feeling it's not exactly a wholesome product!"

A'Liang's intuition told him that thing was dangerous as hell!

"Right, the military training site is in an alternate dimension, what does the school's Beast Taming Arena have to do with it?"

"Huh?! An alternate dimension!"

Chen Shu immediately stood up, his eyes actually lighting up.

"What's up?"

Wang Jue said, "Going by previous years, military training is held at a Spirit Suppression Army outpost inside an alternate dimension."

"Nothing, just a little excited..."

Chen Shu couldn't stop the smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. "When do we head out?"

"A few more days. Is it really worth getting that worked up?"

"You don't get it!"

Chen Shu shook his head. He'd be able to earn a ton of resources while satisfying his bandit's heart at the same time.

And it was completely legal — where else could you find such a good deal?

Wang Jue had absolutely no clue why Chen Shu was so thrilled.

He asked, "Club recruitment starts today. Are you guys joining any?"

"Clubs?"

Chen Shu raised an eyebrow. "Perfect timing, I've got nothing else to do. Let's check it out!"

The three tidied up, left the dorm, and first headed to the cafeteria for lunch, then made their way to the club recruitment street.

By now, the street was already bustling. Dozens of clubs had set up tables, looking to recruit new members.

Aside from various recreational clubs, there were also beast taming-related organizations — combat clubs, beast taming knowledge clubs, and the like.

"Student, interested in joining a club?"

"Join ours! We've got plenty of senior sisters!"

The moment the three arrived, people immediately surrounded them, eager to get them to join.

Chen Shu and the others all shook their heads, not really interested.

"A'Liang, Wang Jue — how about we start our own club?"

Chen Shu spoke up, a glint of excitement in his eyes.

A'Liang turned to look at him. "You want to start a club?"

Wang Jue said, "I'm in. What kind of club?"

"The Bandit Club. What do you think?"

"??"

The two wore strange expressions as they stared at him.

After a long pause, A'Liang said, "You really think the school would approve that?! The name's way too ridiculous!"

"No problem, I'll just say the club president is Professor Liu!"

"..."

The two's mouths fell open. Unbelievable. This guy was seriously addicted to screwing over his teacher!
