"Alright!"

Liu Feng recalled his contract spirits, and all the skill effects dissipated.

Though it was just a simple skill combination, it left everyone's hearts shaken, as if a door to a new world had cracked open.

The ice pillar, the flames, and the spider silk all vanished.

Thud!

Chen Shu, however, rolled his eyes back and collapsed stiff as a board.

"?!"

Liu Feng turned to look at him. There wasn't a single mark on your damn clothes — did you really have to sell it this hard?

"I feel like I'm seeing stars right now. Dizzy. Very dizzy."

Chen Shu lay on his side, clutching his head with both hands, the picture of disorientation.

Liu Feng's tone was deadpan. "I'll make you the Practical Combat class representative."

"If the teacher's going to put it that way, then I'm suddenly all better!"

Chen Shu slapped his right leg with his left leg and stood straight back up like a spring.

"..."

As class representative, come the end-of-term evaluation, you'd receive a certain number of bonus credits.

For a moment, everyone cast envious looks his way.

But there was nothing they could do. Chen Shu's strength was overwhelming, and his advisor was Liu Feng himself — a few perks were only natural.

After that, Liu Feng covered a few more practical combat techniques.

By evening, the first Practical Combat Mega-class came to an end.

"I need to pick up a package. What about you two?"

The three were walking along the path. Chen Shu glanced at A'Liang and Wang Jue.

A'Liang said, "Perfect timing. My treasure chest is here too!"

"Treasure chest?"

Chen Shu and Wang Jue immediately turned their heads, eyes gleaming with greed.

A'Liang's mouth twitched. "What are you two plotting? It's useless to you anyway."

"We don't believe you!"

The three headed together to the academy's package pickup point and retrieved their deliveries.

The very first moment they could, Chen Shu and Wang Jue couldn't restrain themselves and tore open A'Liang's package.

It was indeed a small black chest!

"I bet there's cash inside!"

"I bet it's Beast Taming True Pearls or Lord materials!"

The two rubbed their hands together, visibly thrilled.

Wang Jue said, "Finders keepers — that's the rule, right?"

A'Liang thumped his chest and declared: "Fine! If you two like what's inside, you can split it evenly!"

Hearing that, the two immediately got worked up and eagerly popped open the black chest.

But the contents made their jaws drop.

"Uh... this..."

There were none of the imagined treasures — just a pile of bizarre, random junk: a screwdriver, a compass, playing cards, a crystal ball, a toilet plunger...

"You goddamn... are you some kind of genius talent or what?!"

The two turned to look at him in unison, finally understanding why A'Liang called it his treasure chest.

A'Liang spread his hands. "I told you, I'm truly a jack of all trades!"

"..."

The two shook their heads in unison. This pile of crap — even a dog wouldn't want it!

Wang Jue turned to Chen Shu. "By the way, Bandit Bro, what's your thing?"

"???"

Chen Shu froze. Had this bastard just insulted him?

"Uh..."

Wang Jue shuddered and hastily clarified: "I meant, what's that stuff in your hands!"

"Just some medicinal materials."

"I think finders keepers should apply..."

"Don't worry — you won't be finding anything."

"..."

Chatting and laughing, the three went to the cafeteria to grab food, then returned to the dorm with their packages in hand.

Chen Shu turned on the living room TV and fired up a classic mealtime drama.

Half an hour later.

"I'm going into seclusion. Don't disturb me unless it's urgent!"

Chen Shu retreated to his room.

He opened the package he'd picked up. Inside were all sorts of Black Iron-grade medicinal materials — for brewing Strength Potions, Jump Potions, Defense Potions, and so on...

They'd been shipped over by the Tianhua Group.

Chen Shu didn't rush to brew the Black Iron-grade potions. Instead, he pulled out the ingredients needed for the Black Iron-grade Lightning Potion.

His soul-shaking self-introduction had successfully pushed Lightning Potion to Sage level. He wanted to see what bonus effect would appear.

While the three were each doing their own thing, an uninvited guest arrived at the dorm!

A shirtless guy had come up to the third floor, muttering to himself:

"So this is Room 333, right? Taking advantage of tier advantages to bully one of us Yu family?"

Knock knock knock!

Yu Jiang arrived at the dorm door. "Open up! Beast Taming Association dorm inspection!"

"The Beast Taming Association?"

Wang Jue, who'd been lounging in the living room, raised an eyebrow. Something about this felt hostile.

But he didn't think much of it and directly opened the door.

If anyone actually tried to push them around, he'd strip their underwear clean off!

"Hm? Wang Jue?"

Yu Jiang raised an eyebrow, recognizing Wang Jue from Beiyuan City.

"Yu Jiang? What do you want?"

Wang Jue frowned. He could tell this guy had come with bad intentions.

"I've got no time for you today. I'm looking for someone named Chen Shu!"

Yu Jiang remained calm, eyeing the two other firmly shut rooms.

"I really think you'd best not get too cocky."

Wang Jue was only a Level 9 Beast Tamer, but he wasn't afraid in the slightest.

Just then, A'Liang stepped out of his room.

"Wang Jue, you know, the clothes Chen Shu gave us are actually pretty comfortable!"

Yu Jiang looked up and couldn't stop his body from jolting!

Goddamn psychiatric gowns?!

He felt a twinge of panic creeping in. Sure, they were the troublemakers of the Honors Dorm — but who the hell wasn't afraid of mental patients?!

"Hm? Who are you looking for?"

A'Liang's gaze landed on Yu Jiang, hostility surfacing in his eyes.

"Hmph!"

Yu Jiang didn't want to tangle with A'Liang. He locked his eyes directly onto the one firmly shut door.

Chen Shu had to be in there!

"Get your ass out here, you little punk!"

Bang!

Yu Jiang kicked the door straight open, relying on his Black Iron-rank physique to force it apart.

"You looking for me?"

Chen Shu was in the middle of brewing the Black Iron-grade Lightning Potion. He didn't even turn his head.

But options immediately appeared before his eyes.

[Option 1: Admit your mistake, apologize to the other party, and beg for forgiveness! Completion reward: One random Silver-grade potion]

[Option 2: Calmly say: "Go call every single person in your grade! I'll take on all five hundred!" Completion reward: Title acquired — Rampant Bandit. Equip effect: Your words carry increased taunting power]

[Option 3: No words needed — just ambush! This is the bandit way! Completion reward: Skills "Charge" and "Fireball Barrage" each +1]

A smile crept onto Chen Shu's lips. Never expected someone would deliver a reward straight to his door.

"So you're the one who bullied Yu Yi?"

At this moment, Yu Jiang still hadn't realized the danger closing in.

He clasped his hands behind his back, radiating the domineering aura of a senior, and began:

"I heard you've been throwing your weight around among the freshmen, riding on your Black Iron advantage?"

"I'll give you two choices. The first..."

Bang!

Before he could finish, a ball of lightning came crashing down onto his head!

Crackle crackle crackle!

Lightning energy rampaged through him. Yu Jiang's body instantly seized up. He collapsed to the floor, convulsing, white foam pouring from his mouth.

"You talk way too goddamn much!"

Chen Shu shook his head. Right beside Yu Jiang, on top of the wardrobe, a Husky was bouncing up and down gleefully.

"Filthy!"

Wang Jue and A'Liang both gave Chen Shu a thumbs up. They'd thought this was going to be a big showdown, and the guy got taken out before it even started.

Your street smarts are still too shallow![1]

[1] 社会阅历还是太浅了 (shèhuì yuèlì háishì tài qiǎn le): A classic Chinese condescension — "Your street smarts/life experience are still too shallow." Used as the punchline after Chen Shu's invisible Husky ambushes Yu Jiang mid-threat. The senior came in full of swagger, got instantly thunder-blasted before finishing his first sentence, and the moral of the story is delivered with perfect deadpan timing.
