Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1256 - 1256: Headmasters' gathering

[OP: ]

“Haaaa…” The academy was vast so there were many places that many students did not know about. There were secret places, and there were also secret hideouts that few knew about.

One of these secret hideouts was a simple looking tree, which wasn’t as simple as it looked.

“They are most certainly up to something.” Zod mumbled under his breath while looking at the lazy Del on the couch.

She was happily reading a book written on the different criticisms of the book that Eon had translated and published.

His epic had made worldwide fame and was now one of the top printed books in the entire history. Soon it would cross the record of being the most printed and read book ever and there might just be an entire subject about this particular book and its importance in various fields around the world.

The critiques that contributed their thoughts in the book that Cradle was reading right now included many things, but very few contained biased negativity. Every intellectual person who at least understood the language would fall in love with at least some part of that epic, it was simply that mesmerising.

“You know they’re up to something and yet we have no clue what that ‘something’ is. There could only be one reason behind that and you know that already as well.” She made a simple comment while rolling around the couch.

The tree that they were inside right now was a unique natural space created by a [Silver Spatial squirrel] that must have lived here in the past.

When the two of them found this place there was practically nothing here, just an empty space with an open ceiling.

The two of them turned it into their favourite hang-out spot later on, furnishing it and adding various surveillance systems around the academy that connected here.

After becoming presidents of the academy, this was some of the first places that they had stumbled across and now they would have to leave their favourite treehouse.

They weren’t too sad about it, but it certainly did not feel all that good so they were spending the last of their days here. And, while spending their time here, they were trying to figure out what exactly the new student council presidents had prepared for them.

“The headmaster must be helping them. That’s the only way we don’t know about it.” Zodiac was sure that was the case. Even the little Sansan who was flying around the room happily nodded at his words.

Del nodded as well, but instead of confirming with his words completely, she presented another thing that Zod was missing here.

“We are also talking about that bastard, the new president Lucifer. If he is concealing things from us, then I wouldn’t even be surprised if we lose our vision right this instant and are abducted out of the blue.”

She did not know why she said that but her words rang in the room for a moment before Zod shook his head at her weird comment.

“Why would they abduct us, dummy? We are going away tomorrow anyway so if they had anything planned for today, we would have seen them already.”

The three magic screens that played different footage from around the academy and the garden were something he had installed himself.

The three footage changed and showed different areas and in these different areas, there were different things, different people, and different beasts.

No one was gathered for anything, there were no abnormalities, there were also few people around since it was nighttime.

Morning was going to break out soon and the students would come back for their send-off. Perhaps they had prepared something like a party, or perhaps they are going to surprise them with something.

Neither of them knew what they had been up to these past few days. They had not seen Lucifer and Uriel together much either.

They knew they were up to something with the other house captains, many of their friends were helping them as well… at least, something was going on with them.

“I did not see them do anything and yet I have this weird feeling right now. I don’t want them to do anything too big for us, Del. It’s not like we have been with them for that long either, right?”

Zodiac was worried they were doing too much when it was just a sendoff. It’s not like they are never going to meet from now on.

As someone the headmaster had a good bond with, the two of them were going to be around for many occasions.

On a different note, however, they were not going to join the headmaster as a part of his personal forces.

They would help him and they would do their work if their interests were aligned, but they weren’t going to do anything just because he had asked for it.

Now that they were free from their duties, they were free to do whatever they wished. And perhaps, being part of a clandestine organisation that works for the betterment of the world without being restricted by the laws and barriers would be a fun idea.

“Dudeeee you’re thinking about it too much. Why are you worried they would do anything excessive in the first place?

If they are doing anything at all, they would be doing it for us. And if they are doing it for us they will be doing something that really matters to them.”

They were the ones going, and the rest of the student body was the one that was sending them away. What they did for them wasn’t in their hands anyway.

“Huuuu. You’re the dummy here, acting like the president even after retiring.” Putting down her book after placing a pretty bookmark on the last page, she got up and stretched her body to the sideways.

Then she looked at the casual clothes she was wearing as well as the normal reaction Zod had even after seeing a lot of the things that would make the normal boys and girls blush, and just smiled internally while shaking her head.

“Let’s go take a walk. It will clear up your head a little.” Del used Mana to change her clothes into something more suitable for outdoors.

This special Mana dress that she received from Lucifer was something she was going to cherish dearly for the rest of her life— it was the best gift anyone could give to a lazy person like her who did not like changing into three different pairs of clothes throughout the day.

“That’s a good idea, I guess. Let’s go take a walk.” Tomorrow they would tell about this place to the two new presidents so that they could use it as well.

The duo did not want to take out anything from here, this place was very close to their hearts.

“Ptsssssss~.” Sansan knew how much they liked this place as well.

When it joined the duo for their walk, the winged Okagi changed into its snake form and coiled around Zod’s arms, almost hugging him with a big smile on his face.

The two walked out after checking everything was in place and turned off the light. The outside of the tree was just like any normal tree, with this one being the only tree with a small crack on its trunk among the 39 identical maple trees around it.

The tree was simple but inside of it was a space big enough to be called a treasury. They had filled this treasury to make it their personal tree-house, but soon the tree house would have new owners to look after.

-Swiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish…

The winds were calm today.

The night was bright as always, the stars were also clear in the sky above.

“We’ve been seeing this sky for a while now and yet it looks somewhat new every time we look at it once again.” Zodiac commented from their side and the little snake nodded in agreement.

The time that the two had spent in the academy was most certainly the most fun years of their lives.

“The stars here sure are pretty. We don’t see the sky like this from the ground.” Del was also not too happy to be leaving.

Leaving the academy meant leaving the island since there wasn’t much to do on the island for trained professionals like the two of them.

With the kind of skills and knowledge they had developed over the years by working under the headmaster, they were better suited to do more practical things.

On the island, there were merchants who did business, adventurers who did hunting, and mages who studied magic and the worldly truths. That was it.

This was a secure place where you might never see a poor, homeless, or starving person. This wasn’t a heaven but the hell here was too concealed to meet regular eyes.

And they had seen it all there was to see on this small, floating island of wealth.

“I’ll miss this place as well…” Coming here every once in a while and staying here most of the time were different things.

All three of them knew they were going to miss being here, so they signed with a smile, remembering the fun times they had spent on this island as they strolled around the garden.

-Swiiiiiiiiish…

The winds were still calm, but they had become warmer for some reason.

“Ptssss?” Or was it something else, the snake wondered.

The two humans did not perceive anything but the young Okagi had sensed something strange, something… that did not feel right for some reason.
