Chapter 1045 The jewel of the Tower
[OP: ]
The Heliox castle was divided in three parts, though one of the sections, the outer castle, wasn’t exactly part of the castle itself. This special area was open to the other people of the land as well, so they could access it with proper permits.
However, the inner castle area and the region around the lighthouse were restricted areas that not just anyone could go to.
Though there were many workers that worked in the castle, these people were mainly professionals working under the family or people connected with works of the family.
There were around three hundred working professionals that lived in this castle, with the people holding important positions living here with their families.
There were children in the castle that received educational privileges, there were members that worked around the city, while there were also people that did not really do any work and simply lived with their families.
They certainly knew the difference in status that they had, while they lived on the lower floors of the castle, the upper floors, and the special tower wings that were reserved for the lord’s family were restricted places within the castle.
The lighthouse was an area only accessible to the lords and the family members permitted by the lords as it contained elements which were not for all the people.
In this family, aside from the marchioness and Lord Luthor, there had not been anyone else that had been given the opportunity to look around the lighthouse.
“Wow…”
The lighthouse contained many ancient artifacts, and one of them, left by their ancestors, was a jewel that increased the Mana density inside the lighthouse tower significantly.
This increased, almost saturating energy was so strong that not even a powerful mage like Lady Mime could handle it for a long time.
Only those blessed by the guardian gods, or those who had achieved a strength comparable to an Elder, or a [King] ranked weapon wielder could handle this vast energy.
“It’s amazing how you can touch it and it does nothing to you.”
“Right? He’s just crazy-.”
“You too, Elle. I couldn’t handle this pressure when I was as young ‘looking’ as you. I might have had the power of the blessing for a while, but to be in this chamber isn’t something I permit even to elder mages.”
Rein and Eon were currently at the top floor of the lighthouse situated on the hill.
In this tall building as tall as the highest tower of the castle, the lower floors mainly worked as an engine.
There were many mechanical constructs that intrigued Eon to a great degree, and he examined them for over an hour.
There were only three places in the entire tower where one could rest or live, and of those three places, one was the chambers of the tower master– a place that had been locked up ever since their grandma could remember.
She knew someone lived there as her own grandfather had told her, but that individual, or being, or whatever was there, was constantly looking after this tower and did not show themselves before anyone in most circumstances.
They did not know much about that person, but if fate allows it, they will meet them one day. And when they do, they will learn something new about this family which had existed for a little longer than they all realise…
“But still, this is simply an emitter. Where does all the energy come from? What are all those constructs down there doing?”
Eon was curious about a lot of things.
First of all, the concentration of the Mana in this place was not simple.
The reason it did not affect those who possessed a blessing or a world authority or power beyond a simple image, was because of the nature of the energy that was saturated in this place.
“It all starts from under this tower…”
Eon had already used Lucy’s Analysis on this tower, and he was able to figure out the main power source of the tower was present under this tower.
“The collecting structures on the ground floors collects those powers, then they amplify it using the various constructs by circulating it throughout this structure, which adversely results in the high Mana density, and when it reaches the top, it concentrates on this jewels which disperses the energy in the form of a strong beam of light.”
There were four people in this room right now: Rein and Eon, their grandpa, and their uncle Luthor.
All four of them were wearing a special black glass which protected their eyes from the strong light that was being produced from these jewels.
Though Rein was here, uncle Eon who was examining the jewels closely, she was staying on the periphery of the room, quite a distance away from Eon and Lord Luthor who was there to drag him away if something happens to him.
“Since this is simply pure energy dispersed, my {Energy circulation} is taking in the energy being released from it and is releasing it the same way the jewels naturally do.
Perhaps that’s the reason I’m able to touch it… but, that’s not as interesting as how this tower is actually functioning.”
Right now, Eon is fascinated.
He had the look of pure curiosity on him, like a child that had found something extremely fun.
He was already interested in energy. As the elders in his family knew, he also had a unique constitution that helped him with various things related to the energies.
The reason Griz, his grandma, decided to bring him here and show him this place was exactly because she knew he would find this interesting… In fact, she knew he wanted to see this place ever since he heard the story of this tower from his grandpa.
“It’s not that the tower produces the high density energy inside the tower. It’s just that the way this tower functions saturates the inside energies while taking in the ones present on the outside through the special walls.”
Right now, as they all could see, he was acting like a child.
Which was not a common thing– or a simple thing.
‘Look at him… that baby.’
As Rein knew, there were few things in this world that excited him like this. The last time she saw him like this was when he was explaining his theory of that revival elixir to the President and the headmaster.
And yes, it was a long time ago…
‘This tower is more interesting than that book he found in the basement of Kaksha, then.’
There was another time she had seen him all worked up like this. Discover hidden stories at empire
It was when he was finally able to decode the unique white grimoire that he found in the hidden section of Kaksha that they infiltrated during their mission to evaluate the state of the young saint candidate.
It was a strange book filled with strange and dangerous knowledge, a lot of crazy things as far as she understood, and it excited him quite a bit back then… however, with the grand conference and the preparations, his excitement was buried under all of his work.
She could not enjoy his childish side back then, however, things were different now.
“Is this place that fun, darling~?”
He wasn’t very expressive most of the time. Even though they have arrived for their vacation in their family hometown, he was being all polite and mature to his elder relatives.
They surely were his collateral family, but they were nothing like her collateral family that she could not stand for even a day.
“Fun? This place is awesome~! I would just stay here if I can, haha~.”
They were kind, they were nice, they were pretty amazing themselves, and more than that, they did not have any problems with her being part of their nephew’s life.
‘Those bastards…’
On the other hand, her collateral family from at least her father’s side was a headache that she knew would cause trouble for them going forward as they not only had a problem with her being part of Atraxia, they were doing their damn best to cause trouble for her grandpa as well.
‘I can not tolerate any of those bastards and bitches.’
She knew she would have to face them eventually, so they were preparing for that distant future as they prepared for their future wedding.
“You can surely stay here if you want though.”
However, she knew his family, even these relatives of his, were not going to be a problem for them.
In fact, she knew their support will be greatly beneficial to them in the future.
“Without you? No thanks.” He firmly shook his head as he looked back at her with a small smile.
They were on a vacation right now and their estate had many Good places that they could stay in instead of a tower saturated with dense energy that Rein can only handle to a certain extent.
“Oho? So you two were planning to have fun after all? Huhuhu.” His grandma was teasing them, but she wasn’t wrong.
He did not want to stay here if she wasn’t here.
If they had come for a vacation, he knew it would be much better to spend as much time with her as he could instead of just researching an old building that wasn’t going anywhere.
She was upset that he was going to conduct that dangerous experiment already. Doing something more than that will simply make things worse… and he did not want that.
“Anyway…”
The jewel that produced the beam which had guided countless ships in the sea of this archipelago until now.
It was no simple thing, actually.
‘It’s connected to the divinities…’
He could tell it even though he could not sense divinity itself just yet.
‘Perhaps…’
He was unsure for now, but now that he had the hint, he knew he would be going to look into this tower a little more.
This was an interesting place, in fact. So, after he’s done with his experiment, he might call his headmaster to look into this with him as well…
