Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1043 A power beyond logic

[Eon’s POV: ]

“Haiya!”

Anna swung her short sword and the force that her single strike created was… enough to create a little wave of wind.

“Wow! Anna! That was amazing!” Great Aunt was surprised by that little swing.

“That’s my girl right there~! Look at her! Hahaha! She’s going to be the best swordsman! The best mage! The best at everything she picks up! Hahahaha!” Mom was boasting to all of them.

She really was proud of her. Explore more stories at empire

“She’s doing too well… it concerns me.” I, for obvious reasons, did not think too positive of this improvement.

Of course seeing her doing well with a sword, with her magic studies, with the creatures around her, with her own unique powers, seeing her happily doing what she had seen us doing all the time made me happy as well.

But then again, seeing her growing up so quickly just… made me realise how little time I had spent with her.

As well as how little time we would have together in the future.

Plus…

“You can see it as well, Eon, don’t you.”

“Yes… great Aunt.”

Though she primarily used Mana, Great Aunt had an affinity for Arcanum as well. She could feel it, and from what she could feel from Anna, she knew the time this young girl awakened her true powers was not far anymore.

I knew it, obviously, but unlike the rest of them, I also knew how difficult it is going to be for her when she awakens her new powers.

‘She would have to train rigorously just to keep her powers under control. She would have to learn how to handle the creatures that she will tame as well.’

Summoning, taming, and contract formation. She will have to start with things that not even the students of second year in the academy learn, and in whatever time she will have with us, she will also have to learn as much as she can.

‘Her path forward was filled with things that simply weren’t smooth. And that worries me more than anything else.’

She has special eyes, like Rein and me. But, her eyes themselves do not have any special powers like we do.

Thanks to the eyes she has, unique powers have manifested within her, and as she grows older, those powers will simply increase.

She is different from us.

‘Unlike Rein, she isn’t going to have a hundred years of experience, and unlike me, she will not have Exceptional beings to guide us.’

We are here for her, but we cannot give her all the experience she is going to need for all the powers she will possess.

When the creatures from all around the world are attracted to us, I don’t even know what I’m going to do.

When that time comes, I don’t know whether the things around us are good or simply chaotic.

‘She has already had two more failed awakening attempts despite her training and all, so, when it happens next time, I’m unsure if it will end positively, or the results will be devastating.’

Though it is going to be a problem either way, we have prepared for whatever happens.’

If things go too far, I will step in. If she cannot overcome it herself, Zoe will help her. If we have to forcefully terminate the process, Rein will use her witchcraft.

And if we aren’t around to help her with any of that… she will have Mr. Rice.

“Look, it’s Zoe’s turn now.”

I’m worried. I’m afraid. With each passing day, I get more anxious… and even though I should be happy that she is doing so well, I cannot shake the feeling that the more she improves, the more she will step closer to the awakening that might turn out to be the worst experience of her life.

“What is she going to show them? Any idea?”

Rein did not know what Zoe would show our great uncle and aunt now that she was demonstrating her powers, and I had no idea what she was going to show either.

She was going to show them something good. Something that will show them all that they needed to see, but I did not know what she was going to show them exactly.

“Let’s see. It should be something good anyway.”

The matters regarding Anna were something all of us were worrying about. I wasn’t the only one. S~eaʀᴄh the nôvelFire.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Zoe… she’s your master’s daughter, right?”

“Yea, great aunt.”

Since Great aunt and uncle had no idea what kind of powers Zoe actually had, they weren’t going to fight against her.

Since neither of them could understand what kind of powers she had, since they could not gather anything from their skills and observation, they knew she was something extraordinary.

She was strong, undoubtedly. But what kind of powers she had were unknown to them. But, the rest of the people in our family had seen a bunch of things that she could do.

So… there was a warm smile on their faces.

“Can I ask what kind of person she was? I mean…”

She looked at Zoe with a curious look.

There was something about Zoe that intrigued her.

She had unique senses. She was talented and as someone that possessed affinity with the null element, she recognised beings that were also not following any certain element.

“She’s not human, she’s also not evil… she’s also not hiding anything from us aside from your secrets. So, what kind of person… what kind of being was her mom, I wonder.

To have birthed someone with such inhuman potential, someone so humble despite her powers, someone so… bright.

She must be a wonderful person, I’m sure of that. But…”

She smiled helplessly. It was a familiar smile that many of us understood well.

“If the daughter has such immense potential…”

Zoe took a deep breath, gathered the energies around her, lifted her palm in the air, and sparked a blaze into the swirling energies.

-Oooooooooooooooong!

“Just what kind of person was the one that birthed this Blaze?”

Zoe created a small ball of fire, which wasn’t actually a ‘fire’ element. It was flame, but these flames were burning with the environmental energies as the fule.

She was the one that sparked a blaze in them and set them ablaze, but they did not understand whether she used some kind of skill to do it, or some kind of item.

They understood she was strong, they knew there was something about her that did not make any sense, but to gather energies in that manner and to have lit them up like that simply went beyond what a mortal could do.

‘She wasn’t using Mana or some certain kind of energy. She was burning the very atmosphere filled with energies in a controlled environment to create that ball of fire.’

It was a trick that the others had seen many times already, and they had questioned how this was possible or how she was doing it many times as well.

But, they had not asked her those questions… Anna had, but, Zoe did not have any answer to that.

Even I did not have any explanation to how a Divine being like her was able to do something any divine being would be able to do.

“Master was not that unique a person. In fact, she was pretty simple.”

Since I was meeting my great aunt for the first time today, I know we will have a lot to talk about. Thanks to Sam I also know we will have a lot of things to talk about.

‘I’m interested in her magic as well, so that was also there.’

We will get along pretty well, I know that much as well. She’s just the kind of person I like, in fact. Straightforward and professional when she needs to.

“Master spent her life agonising over the meaninglessness of life. She did all kinds of things, pretty much everything I can think about actually.

She lived a long life. And in that life, there were many things she mastered, many things she obtained, and countless things she lost.”

Zoe’s demonstration was short, but, it was enough for them to understand the kind of powers she possessed. And, in one way… it was scary.

‘There aren’t many [King] rank knights in this world, there are also not many (tier-8) masters. There are, though, even fewer beings who could induce the instinctive feeling of fear within them.’

Zoe did that to them, just like she had done to the rest of the people in Rein and my family.

It was her strengths that they feared. And she could not change anything about that.

Her powers were beyond logic, and nothing was going to change that.

So…

“Master lived a long, fulfilling life and when she had done everything she wanted, she went to a place where no one would disturb her.

She spent her life alone and was going to continue doing so… until…”

The story of my meeting and my time with my master was known to them, so I did not have to tell her about those things.

“Zoe didn’t know anyone else in this world. I was her everything after master… and even though she has a family now, she is still my responsibility.”

She does her best to win over the people that she meets. There’s no one in Rein or this family that is afraid of her anymore, and there are many who would trust her over their closest aides.

She has earned that. And, she will do it here as well.

‘I don’t have to worry about her, or them.’

With a little time, they will see her the way the rest of the people saw her.

Her powers were something that she had inherited from her mom, but her nature was something she had developed herself.

Her humility, her kindness, her warm nature that brought light to everything around her… it was something that she had. Not something that she received from anyone else.

“She’s a good girl, great aunt. I hope you’ll give her a chance.”

She’s going to love her ultimately anyway. But, the start was necessary.

Without a start, a process, and an end was not possible…
