Chapter 32 Wolf Leap, Shadow
Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Wolf Leap, Shadow
The additional Heavy Arm Armor’s color was identical to the original, but it looked much thicker and more ferocious, making his entire left arm appear slightly larger.
Feng Yin tested his movements and found that it did not affect his agility.
"Not bad, really not bad!" he thought to himself.
Satisfied, he issued another mental command. He watched as the Heavy Arm Armor transformed once more, shrinking back into the previous Arm Crossbow. Feng Yin estimated the time; the transformation between the two states took about five seconds. This meant he couldn’t switch the Secondary Hand Armament’s form at will during combat.
This was similar to the game’s mechanics. There was no point dwelling on it. Since he had Spirituality, he decided to upgrade first. Currently, there was only one item he could spend Spirituality to upgrade—the Wolf’s Badge!
Feng Yin stored away his Armor, opened the interface, and chose to consume his Spirituality.
[Spirituality: 67 -> 17]
[Wolf’s Badge (Level 1 -> Level 2)]

Wolf’s Badge (Level: 2/5)
Armor Engraving: Equipping this grants the Armor Form "Wolf Slaughter," increases all basic Armor Attributes by 6, and unlocks related Traits based on the Engraving Level.
Trait 1: Bloodthirst - For every ten targets killed, Recovery of (Engraving Level x 1) Durability points for the Armor.
Trait 2: Wolf Leap - When using Stealing Step, you can choose to use the Wolf Leap Step, which has a different mechanical effect. Its Speed is slightly slower, but allows you to perform other actions while moving.
Upgrade Requirements: Spirituality [500]

Finally!
Feng Yin stared silently at the Engraving Attributes on the interface, his eyes flashing with excitement. The additional three points to his Four Dimensions from the upgrade were certainly great, but the most important part was unlocking the second key Trait, Wolf Leap!
There was naturally a reason why he considered this second Trait crucial.
Previously, using Stealing Step came with strict limitations—it was very difficult to perform other actions simultaneously while using it. Once translated into reality, this high-frequency footwork required full-body coordination; even the exertion of his arms had to harmonize with the movement.
Simply put, before this, dodging was just dodging. But with the Wolf Leap Step, his evasion gained a branched application—he could attack while dodging. The trade-off was that because the Wolf Leap Step was more functional and compatible, it couldn’t match the sheer Speed of Stealing Step.
This didn’t matter. It simply gave him more options, and he could decide which footwork to use in combat. This was why Feng Yin had been so excited when he obtained the Wolf’s Badge. Special Engravings applied to the Armor not only provided Extra Abilities but even adjusted the mechanics of existing abilities!
Speaking of which...
Feng Yin closed the interface and recalled his progress in the game. Defeating the Mad Beastman meant he had completed a small, continuous storyline. The next time he entered the game, he would be on the fourth level.
This also meant he could choose a level reward again. Of course, he could only choose from the remaining two of the previous three options.
One was the Engraving type, Continuous Fire, with the starting level scenario at the Nameless Camp. This Engraving could be equipped to the Secondary Hand Armament, the Simple Arm Crossbow. Once equipped, the Arm Crossbow would change from a simple single-shot structure to a Repeating Crossbow, greatly improving its practicality.
The other option was the Secret Technique type, Blood Flame, with the level scenario at the Monastery. Feng Yin had actually already witnessed the power of Blood Flame—it was the very Energy the Mad Beastman had unleashed at the end. If used with his Armor, it would consume Secret Energy to erupt with blood-colored Light flames to buff his attacks, making it Extremely Strong. It would also trigger a violent chain reaction upon contact with blood, causing high-energy explosions.
In the game, this ability could easily be hand-waved away as Magic. But if it worked in reality, it would be unadulterated Supernatural Power.
As far as he could tell, there was no public concept of Extraordinary Energy in the real world yet. In this relatively materialistic world, if Feng Yin fought using Blood Flame and a witness escaped, it would inevitably cause a massive uproar. If he used it, he would have to slaughter everyone, leaving no survivors, and he had to be absolutely sure there were no surveillance cameras.
However... despite the heavy restrictions, Feng Yin clearly still decided to choose this Secret Technique.
For no other reason than this—at his current stage, the Repeating Crossbow might not be more useful than firearms in reality. In the game, the Repeating Crossbow was indeed strong, but in terms of pure burst power, it lacked the strong finishing capabilities of Blood Flame. Besides, it was only a matter of which one to take first. Ultimately, he would collect all of them before the tenth level anyway.
Feng Yin gathered his thoughts and lay back down on the bed.
It was time to get some real sleep.
Late at night, nearing dawn.
On the other side of Sin City.
Inside the Ren Sheng Group, Kondo Makoto and Yamanamikawa sat together.
Kondo Makoto glanced around and asked, "Where is Saito Gaku?"
Yamanamikawa looked exasperated. "He went to practice his Cultivation by the sea outside Sin City. He said he has no time to watch our dirty tricks, afraid he wouldn’t be able to resist hacking us to pieces."
Kondo’s expression darkened. "He was probably provoked by Ya Lie. But the Instant Level’s See Through ability isn’t something that can be attained through mere Cultivation. This distant nephew of mine is still too naive."
Yamanamikawa sighed in agreement. "Indeed. If one could grasp Combat Essence just through hard training, which Fierce Level wouldn’t want to reach that profound state?"
Kondo Makoto waved his hand dismissively. "Enough about him. How are the preparations on Ya Lie’s end?"
Yamanamikawa replied, "The deposit has already been sent over. He is very satisfied and said he’ll go take the heads of Hong Yuan and that woman surnamed Xie the day after tomorrow."
"The day after tomorrow? Didn’t he say tomorrow? What excuse does he have this time?" Kondo Makoto looked displeased.
Yamanamikawa also seemed frustrated. "A ship full of VIPs is arriving on the island tomorrow. The Zero Point Consortium asked him to do security work."
Kondo Makoto took a deep breath and said no more. On this Border Prison Island, the Zero Point Consortium was God, and no one could defy God.
He finally asked his last question. "Have you found out the identity of the Black Armor Swordsman?"
Yamanamikawa slowly shook his head. "No. I had the men ask all over Sin City. Some people did say they saw a figure resembling him moving across the Roofs that night, but other than that, there are absolutely no clues.
"This guy seems to have vanished from the face of the earth. He hasn’t appeared again since that night." Looking at Kondo Makoto with a grim expression, Yamanamikawa continued, "Mr. Kondo, are you worried that the Black Armor Swordsman actually came to kill us last time and might make a comeback?"
Kondo Makoto’s expression turned fierce, a hint of fear seemingly hidden in his eyes. "Exactly. If that expert was really hired by Hong Yuan, he couldn’t have just come to kill the ordinary members of the Ren Sheng Group. That would simply be a waste of talent.
"Who knows if his killing spree counts as completing the commission? Whenever I think about this over the past few days, I can’t sleep at night..."
Yamanamikawa couldn’t help but nod, fear surfacing on his face as well. Judging others by themselves, since they had thought of hiring Ya Lie to kill Hong Yuan, they naturally felt that Hong Yuan would also find someone to kill them.
Now, this could only end when one of the parties was completely wiped out!
And just as these two men were filled with fear and worry in their room...
Outside the Ren Sheng Group’s base, on the same low building that overlooked the entire compound, upon the corner wall of that same Roof...
The existence that Kondo Makoto and Yamanamikawa were just discussing and fearing, the legendary Black Armor Swordsman, was currently crouching quietly. The tattered cloak on his back fluttered without any wind.
The eyes of his wolf-head-like faceplate flickered with scarlet streaks.
