Chapter 2249: Assigning Distribution

Xi He, Lei Zu, and Nu Ying appeared simultaneously on Heavenly Peak Mountain, each evidently with their own goals. Despite the apparent hostility, none wanted to reveal their true intentions lest they be deciphered and put at a disadvantage.

Nu Ying sneered, “What purpose could I have for coming here? I have no purpose whatsoever; I merely wish to oversee you two…”

“There’s no point in saying such things. Everyone knows your ambition, Nu Ying. You must have already seen the disciple of Xuan Nu, right? What did she say to you? Haha, it seems like no one is willing to help you obtain Pan Gu’s power. Now you’re resorting to unorthodox methods to gain it?”

Xi He’s tone carried a mocking edge, inciting a murderous impulse in Nu Ying, yet she was powerless against Xi He. Her only option was to delay and probe Xi He’s intentions.

“Don’t impose your motives on me; I know you’re here for Pan Gu’s power. Since Ye Fan’s departure, many have coveted this power. Can you honestly say you don’t wish to claim it?” Nu Ying retorted.

Xi He chuckled, “Actually, I don’t want it at all. In fact, you and Lei Zu both wish to claim this power…”

“Don’t pin everything on me. It was you who promised to help me find my daughter. After failing that, you offered to assist me in acquiring Pan Gu’s power. So how has it become my desire now?” Lei Zu lashed out.

Nu Ying seemed to understand and said, “Since we’re all here for this power, I’ll cut to the chase. Xi He, your skills are likely above mine and Lei Zu’s, but if we join forces, we might pose a threat.”

The atmosphere suddenly grew tense, and even Lei Zu seemed more hostile towards Xi He, appearing as if ready to ally with Nu Ying.

Xi He responded, “The two of you teaming up could hardly pose any danger to me, however slight?”

“Sometimes, limited skill does not equate to lack of threat; the greatest threat still comes from Ye Fan, doesn’t it? Though we cannot kill you, if we act, Ye Fan will surely sense it. Will he stand idly by? Xi He, you’d better think wisely. The power… it’s best shared, rather than monopolized by you!” Nu Ying seemed afraid Xi He might act recklessly, promptly cautioning her, compelling Xi He to agree to certain terms.

“Enough of this!” Xi He declared, “There’s something I haven’t told you yet, such as… I’m not interested in Pan Gu’s power. I’m here to assist Lei Zu in acquiring it. How it’s divided is your matter…”

“Hold on!” Lei Zu spoke up, “Xi He, don’t trivialize the matter. I previously mentioned, obtaining this power requires Ye Fan’s prior consent, yet you want to dictate the distribution. Even if it can be harnessed through some form of power from Heavenly Peak Mountain, acquiring this power doesn’t mean enmity with Ye Fan? Have you considered explaining it to him?”

Now both Lei Zu and Nu Ying scrutinized Xi He.

The two women yearned for this power, yet hesitated, fearing harm from Xi He and potential punishment from Ye Fan if he discovered their scheme.

Xi He chuckled, “How the master chooses to punish you is none of my concern. Although you have obtained the power, the master would not kill you. At most, like with Xuan Nu, you’ll be imprisoned briefly, but afterward, you’ll be free, even capable of governing cosmic order… It’s all about your choices; I’m merely a helper. If issues arise afterward, I’ll face them alongside you!”

“You’re that considerate? Who do you think you’re deceiving? We won’t easily trust you. We’ve witnessed your cunning, Xi He!” Nu Ying scoffed.

Xi He shook her head, “Nu Ying, if you don’t know others well, you should understand my character. Since antiquity, have I ever been a status-seeker? If I had been, I wouldn’t have ceded the ancient mighty position to Xuan Nu. Had I pursued it, I wouldn’t have missed out, right?”

“That’s debatable!” Nu Ying retorted bluntly, “Back then, you considered yourself a man, opposing order, undissuaded even by Pan Gu and Nuwa. You hid in Pan Gu’s secret realm for so many years, clearly with your own agenda. Now you’ve embraced femininity with objectives of your own; how could we know your true intentions?”

Meanwhile, Lei Zu abruptly moved from Xi He’s side to Nu Ying’s.

It seemed the two women were aligning against Xi He, as though poised to strike at her at any time.

“As you please, how you see fit, I won’t interfere. However, there’s something best resolved; it’s about my views on certain matters…” Xi He sighed, “Whom I wish to protect isn’t you two nor those around the master, but Xuan Nu…”

Nu Ying and Lei Zu exchanged a glance, a hint of surprise in their eyes, clearly not expecting Xi He to play a sentimental card now.

“If you don’t intend to claim this power, I’ll leave it to Xuan Nu; it’s up to you!” Xi He said as if growing impatient, seemingly ready to depart.

“Wait!” Nu Ying and Lei Zu certainly wouldn’t let Xi He leave so easily; they both needed to vie for this power.

Xi He coldly sneered, “I’ve said all I have to say. If you want it, I’ll assist you… With my power, Pan Gu’s residual power can be drawn here. How you divide it is your issue. Then, don’t engage in fierce conflict over it, figuring out how much of Pan Gu’s cultivation you can fuse into your bodies. At that point, I’m merely your guardian; it’s all on you!”

Now Nu Ying turned hostile towards Lei Zu again, previously seemingly prepared to team up against Xi He, yet poised to become competitors.

“Alright, begin!”

Lei Zu seemed less wary of Nu Ying, urging Xi He with determination in her expression, ready to absorb the power.
