Invincible Young Master in the City
Chapter 2239: Berserk Xuannü
Within the Pan Gu Secret Realm, Hai Wuzi was still organizing personnel to manage all the refugees and make proper arrangements.
For Earth, the heavenly tribulation had just occurred no more than twelve hours ago, but for the Pan Gu Secret Realm, the tribulation had already passed over five days.
More than five days have been extremely grueling for ordinary people in the Pan Gu Secret Realm; not only do they have to avoid the seawater, but also plague and famine, along with issues like drinking water.
“… This can’t continue; the food issue is very serious.” Hai Wuzi gathered people from several major sects together to discuss a solution. Her expression was very tense, and evidently, this secret realm problem brought a series of troubles that she, a cultivator, couldn’t bear.
The Sect Master of a small sect next to her said, “Sect Master Hai, you mustn’t blame yourself; it’s not your responsibility. You’ve already met Alliance Hierarch Ye, right? As long as he’s here, there shouldn’t be major trouble.”
“I don’t need you to comfort me,” Hai Wuzi said angrily. “You should be doing more now, not saying irrelevant things in front of me. Don’t you know the current situation of the common people? After five days have passed, large numbers of people are already facing the threat of death. If we can’t deliver food, the end result will be watching these ordinary people die – will Alliance Hierarch Ye concern himself with such insignificant problems?”
None of those present dared to speak; everyone knew Hai Wuzi had a temper. Since trouble was currently afoot, everyone was thinking about how to solve it, but no one truly had a plan to resolve the issues.
Hai Wuzi seemingly felt she’d been overly angry, and with a sigh, she said, “Let’s first handle our business; the common people must first find something to eat. This is something we urgently need to do. For us, it shouldn’t be very difficult. At the very least, we ought to have confidence. Immediately search for food and then go to connect with Sang Yuan; let her think of a way!”
“Alright!” Everyone responded in the affirmative, clearly not wanting to argue with Hai Wuzi. Also, since Hai Wuzi was under significant pressure, everyone was thinking about how to help her, and truly, not many were plotting behind her back.
Everyone now knew that only Ye Fan could save them; without Ye Fan’s help, they might not even know how they would die.
…
…
Ye Fan’s disappearance brought many troubles; many were also attempting to find Ye Fan to have him solve the immediate issues.
However, some did not wish for Ye Fan to appear, such as the Nine Heavens Mysterious Woman.
The Nine Heavens Mysterious Woman was currently within an unknown star domain, doing some incomprehensible things. She sought to dominate the entire ancient cultivation community in a terrifying manner, even wanting to replace Ye Fan in mastering the order of the cosmos. The result of her actions implicated Nu Ying, who now wished to kill her, but Nu Ying had already lost independent authority.
“… Mysterious Woman, stop it. You don’t have the ability to confront Ye Fan. Your actions are seeking your own doom!” Nu Ying realized that the power summoned by the Mysterious Woman was not orthodox cosmic power as claimed, but a force seemingly meant to kill, rather than to save cultivators.
The Mysterious Woman replied, “I am saving the Pan Gu Secret Realm now; am I mistaken in what I am doing?”
“Are you mistaken or not, don’t you know yourself? Ah!” Nu Ying was tormented, feeling as though her body was being burned by flames. This terrifying feeling made her very uncomfortable, but her mind was quite clear, realizing the severity of her problem. If she didn’t persuade the Mysterious Woman, her soul power might ultimately be exploited by the Mysterious Woman.
The Mysterious Woman sneered, “I am altering the order now. Besides me, no one else has the right to change it! You should be thanking me!”
Nu Ying then felt her soul seemed beyond her control; she understood the Mysterious Woman intended to separate her soul and body—a terrifying experience she did not wish to continue enduring.
But this was just an illusion; what was really happening, Nu Ying could not explain.
“Die!” The Mysterious Woman seemed to have gone mad, and Nu Ying felt something was amiss with the Mysterious Woman. But exactly what was wrong, Nu Ying could not ascertain.
At this moment, Nu Ying sensed many ancient cultivators around her, realizing the Mysterious Woman had opened the shackle Xi He previously created—a prison used to detain Emperor Jun and Shun along with other ancient cultivators. These ancient cultivators were unexpectedly meant to be utilized by the Mysterious Woman.
Nu Ying said, “Are you mad? Or has your power been exploited by others? Mysterious Woman, do you even know what you’re doing now?”
At this moment, the Mysterious Woman seemed entirely deaf to Nu Ying’s words. She wielded a divine weapon resembling a tree branch, operating it as it emitted increasingly intense white light. Nu Ying wished she could rush out and subdue the Mysterious Woman immediately, but at present she could only hope Ye Fan would appear; as if beyond Ye Fan, no one else could stop the Mysterious Woman.
With rumbling sounds, the Mysterious Woman had completely opened the cage, and the first to emerge was Emperor Jun.
Emperor Jun felt resentful over losing to Xi He and the Mysterious Woman; when suddenly restored to freedom, he immediately wanted to rush out to fight Xi He. Yet, upon realizing he faced the Mysterious Woman, he sensed something was awry.
“What’s going on?” Emperor Jun saw the Mysterious Woman appeared to be in a berserk state, unable to hear any speech. Near her was the imprisoned Nu Ying, who was also in great pain.
Emperor Jun then sensed similar pain, feeling his body was enduring a massive infernal force.
“I will make you all submit!” The Mysterious Woman’s words perplexed Emperor Jun further, and as he prepared to retaliate, another force suddenly emerged, abruptly halting the Mysterious Woman’s power.
“Ah!” The Mysterious Woman fell from the sky like a kite with a broken string, drifting through the cosmos by a strange force.
After regaining stability, the Mysterious Woman found two people she most desired not to see in front of her—one was Xi He, the other was Lei Zu.
Lei Zu seemed wholly uninterested in the Mysterious Woman’s actions; she said harshly to Xi He, “Weren’t you going to help find my daughter? What’s the point of coming here? Whatever the Mysterious Woman does is her own business; naturally, Ye Fan will deal with it—what does it have to do with you?”
