Invincible Martial Artist from Foreseeing Opportunities
Chapter 100: Heavenly Changes, Earthly Branches Twelve Sects
Xu Guang remained silent. He charged forward with his Long Spear, the weapon emitting a loud BUZZ like a dragon’s roar.
“Li Xiao” paled, shock flashing in his eyes. “Aren’t you in the Two Viscera Realm?”
SQUELCH!
The Big Spear pierced through the man’s right arm. Its immense, surging power instantly shredded the limb.
The Mouse Demon cried out in pain and fell to the ground. The spear tip rested against his nose as a cold voice echoed.
“Where is Li Xiao?”
“Dead!”
“What about the others?”
“Only one named Song Tao escaped.”
Xu Guang fell silent. His Big Spear sliced through the air, tearing the man’s corpse to shreds. No Blood Seal was produced.
But he didn’t care.
Just as he was about to leave, a bloodied Song Tao hurried in with several brothers.
“Boss!”
“Lord Ming!”
“What’s the exact situation outside right now?”
“The Immortal Crane Sect has rebelled. Marshal Li was severely injured, and Duan City Guardian was assassinated. He was taken by an old enforcer to the secret passage in Kang Square. To lure the pursuers away, that old enforcer never returned.”
Song Tao took out a square box from his chest and carefully placed it in Xu Guang’s hands. “On his deathbed, Lord Duan told us to retrieve this from outside and hand it to you.”
Xu Guang abruptly turned his head. “Is Lord Duan really dead?”
Song Tao replied with some uncertainty.
“There is a faction called the Earthly Branches Twelve Sects. They deployed three experts above Refining Viscera. The Immortal Crane Sect Leader, Ancient Stream, ambushed them from behind. The old enforcer of the City Guard’s Mansion was severely wounded on the spot. Lord Duan was sent flying by a palm strike and was subsequently rescued by the old enforcer.
“Lord Ming, we must leave as soon as possible. Right now, they are purging the Feiyun Guard forces in the city. Several Marshals have already surrendered. In the eyes of outsiders, you are Lord Duan’s die-hard confidant. You will definitely be purged.”
Xu Guang nodded, taking the box from Song Tao’s hands with lowered eyes.
“With just our group, it’s too difficult to escape…”
The only way to survive was to unite with the city’s remaining forces and fight their way out together.
But before that…
He quickly turned around and escorted the women of his household onto a boat to flee along the Wei River.
“Lu, hold onto this. This Official Seal can control the Celestial Stele. If you encounter an entity that Ghostly Roar cannot handle, throw this seal out.”
Although he had great faith in Ghostly Roar’s combat power in the water, he dared not underestimate the Sensing Profound Realm.
Separating from Ji Xiaolu was a last resort. He was Duan Jue’s die-hard loyalist, a prime target for those people. If Ji Xiaolu stayed with him, it would be certain death. Instead, by taking the waterway, her chances of survival were much higher.
Xu Guang gritted his teeth and had his subordinates help him put on his armor. With a long whistle, he summoned the Cyan-Scaled Horse he had meticulously raised.
“Brothers, leaving Feiyun City with me will be a near-certain death. If any of you wish to leave right now, Xu will hold no grudges.”
His tone was sincere, and he truly meant it.
Compared to him, these brothers from Bengzi Camp were just nobodies. If they submitted to the Yellow Heaven Sect, their chances of living were very high.
To his surprise, however, not a single one of the dozens of men behind him backed down.
Xu Guang was somewhat astonished but said no more.
“Let’s go. We’ll head to the Outer City first. With the Six Great Martial Artists there, our chances of escaping will be higher.”
Riding the Cyan-Scaled Horse and wielding his Big Spear, Xu Guang led the charge out.
As soon as they stepped out the door, the massive changes were apparent. On the usually heavily guarded main avenue of the City Guard’s Mansion, two distinct factions were engaged in a desperate, bloody battle.
Xu Guang recognized the Commanders of both armies.
One was Guan Mountain of the Cold Blade Sect, and the other was Gu Cheng of the Immortal Crane Sect.
Gu Cheng of the Immortal Crane Guard seemed to have gone mad, slaughtering indiscriminately on the streets. The elderly, children, women…
All became the dead souls beneath his iron hooves.
Xu Guang saw with his own eyes the child named Cai Tou, who always called him Uncle Xu, get his head sliced off with a single blade.
The Immortal Crane Sect had rebelled. Behind Gu Cheng were not only the Immortal Crane Guards but also… Undead!
Xu Guang looked around, only to see the streets already rolling with rivers of blood. The ground looked as if it had been washed in gore.
If the Inner City was like this, the Outer City must have completely degenerated into a Blood Sea with mountains of corpses.
His face expressionless, Xu Guang exchanged a glance with Guan Mountain. Then, lowering his Big Spear, he shouted, “The Immortal Crane Sect has rebelled! Brothers, follow me to slay the traitors!”
As he fought his way through, he occasionally glanced toward the Wei River. He saw the iron, submarine-like contraption enter the water before being dragged away by a massive shadow.
Not far from Xu Guang, the ground would occasionally burst open, revealing a head that looked in his direction.
Xu Guang breathed a sigh of relief. With a swipe of his Big Spear, he decapitated an Undead.
To his surprise, the Undead was still able to get up, albeit with restricted movement.
“Have the Alien Insects in their bodies evolved?” Xu Guang wondered, a shadow of gloom forming in his mind.
However, this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing for him. He already knew that he could directly perform Blood Refining on the Undead!
Moreover, the Essence Blood within an Undead formed from an ordinary person was comparable to a martial artist with Skin Grinding Mastery!
These were all resources for cultivation.
He gripped his spear and charged toward Gu Cheng. To him, this man was a “great medicine.”
He certainly wasn’t doing this to avenge the brutally murdered women and children.
Unfortunately, upon seeing Xu Guang, Gu Cheng of the Immortal Crane Sect immediately retreated.
The distance was slightly too far, and Xu Guang couldn’t catch up.
But the remaining disciples of the Immortal Crane Sect didn’t possess such Lightweight Skill and speed. They could only be slaughtered by Xu Guang one by one.
Amidst the mountains of corpses and the Blood Sea, Xu Guang didn’t have the slightest hint of blood on him. He was as clean as if he were on a spring outing.
