Chapter 307: Demonic Bats!

Chapter 307: Demonic Bats!

Li Yun approached quickly, but instead of heading toward the summit, he moved around the base of the mountain with careful attention. His eyes searched every crevice, shadow, and overgrown section of rock.

After circling for some time, he finally found what he had been looking for.

A hidden cave entrance.

The opening was almost completely concealed behind layers of thick green vines and creeping plants. It blended so perfectly with the mountain wall that even someone standing nearby might overlook it. Without the information taken from the Blood Zombie Young Master, Li Yun doubted anyone would discover this place even after searching for years.

“No wonder no one has found the whereabouts of the Blood Zombie Demon General all this time,” Li Yun said with a cold sneer.

“This old monster truly knows how to hide.”

He raised his hand and used it like a blade.

Qi surged outward in a sharp arc, slicing through the tangled vines instantly. The severed plants fell aside, revealing a pitch-black cave entrance hidden behind them.

A wave of stale, cold air drifted out from within.

Li Yun showed no fear. He stepped forward confidently and entered the cave.

Inside, the darkness was so thick it seemed almost solid. The tunnel stretched inward in twisting paths that branched again and again like a labyrinth carved into the mountain’s heart. Uneven stone walls curved sharply, and the silence within carried a faint oppressive weight.

For most people, getting lost here would be inevitable.

But Li Yun had two advantages. He possessed accurate intelligence, and he carried the Nine Tribulations Divine Eye. With its power, the darkness held no meaning before him. Every turn, passage, crack, and hidden route appeared clearly in his sight.

Without hesitation, he followed the correct path deeper into the cave.

Five or six minutes passed as he moved steadily forward.

Li Yun no longer knew how far he had traveled beneath the mountain, but judging by the depth and winding descent, he had likely reached somewhere near the middle of the underground cave system.

Just then–

“Screech! Screech! Screech!”

A sharp and piercing cry suddenly tore through the silence of the mountain cave. The sound echoed violently through the narrow tunnels, making the darkness feel even more oppressive.

In the next instant, countless eerie red lights appeared ahead within the pitch-black depths. They swayed and flickered like ghostly flames drifting in the void. Then came a storm of tearing sounds as the air itself seemed to be ripped apart by rapidly approaching bodies.

Dark shadows rushed toward Li Yun from every direction.

Li Yun narrowed his eyes and focused his gaze.

The incoming swarm was made up of gray-furred bats with twisted bodies, sharp hooked claws, and long blood-red fangs that gleamed coldly whenever they caught the faintest trace of light. Their wings beat wildly, filling the cave with chaotic gusts of wind and shrill cries that could unsettle the heart of any ordinary person.

These were Bloodthirsty Demonic Bats.

They were far from ordinary cave creatures. These vicious beasts carried traces of the ancient Dragon Bat bloodline. Their fangs were strong enough to pierce protective qi, and once they bit living prey, they could drain blood with terrifying speed.

Even a group of ten could easily kill an ordinary third-level Qi Sea Realm martial artist.

And now there were more than a thousand.

The ceiling, walls, and pathways of the cave were nearly covered by the dense mass of flapping bodies. Their red eyes filled the darkness like a sea of malicious stars.

Yet Li Yun only stood where he was, completely calm.

With the Ninefold Origin Flesh Scripture cultivated to the fourth stage, Titan Flesh, his body had already reached a shocking level of defense. Even if he remained motionless and allowed these creatures to bite him freely, it would be difficult for them to truly injure him.

Still, visible disgust appeared in his eyes.

“These filthy things…” he said coldly.

He had no desire to let such creatures come anywhere near him. His sword appeared briefly in his hand. Li Yun glanced at it, then shook his head and put it away again.

“There is no need.”

Against a swarm like this, even drawing a weapon felt excessive.

The next moment, an incomparably sharp aura rose from his body.

Sword Intent.

Fifty percent Sword Intent.

The cave itself trembled faintly the instant it appeared. Though invisible, the pressure it carried was so intense that it felt as though thousands of drawn blades had suddenly filled the narrow tunnels. Even the darkness seemed ready to split apart.

Li Yun slowly raised one hand and pointed two fingers forward.

“Die.”

The word had barely left his lips when the Sword Intent erupted.

A silent yet terrifying force swept through the cave like a heavenly tide. It moved faster than sight and cut sharper than any forged steel.

The first rows of Bloodthirsty Demonic Bats did not even have time to scream before their bodies were sliced apart in midair.

Blood sprayed across the stone walls. Gray fur scattered like torn leaves. Severed wings spun through the air.

Then the Sword Intent continued deeper into the swarm.

One slash became ten.

Ten became hundreds.

It was as though countless invisible swords had been unleashed at once.

Bodies began raining from the air in waves. The shrill battle cries instantly turned into desperate screams of terror. The entire swarm fell into chaos. Some bats tried to flee deeper into the cave. Some slammed into the walls in panic. Others attempted to rush Li Yun from the sides.

It was all meaningless.

Li Yun did not move even a single step. He simply stood with two fingers raised while Sword Intent flowed from him endlessly. Wherever the bats flew, they entered a field of death.

Chunks of flesh and broken wings fell like black rain.

Within moments, the cave was thick with the smell of blood. The ground became layered with twitching corpses.

One surviving bat suddenly dived from a blind angle toward Li Yun’s face.

Li Yun’s gaze shifted slightly. A thin strand of Sword Intent flashed.

The bat split cleanly into two halves before it came within ten feet of him.
