Invincible Beyond Heavens: Cultivating With A Broken EXP System

Chapter 274: Killing Intent?

Chapter 274: Killing Intent?

The Secret Hall of Boundless Martial Palace had already transmitted an order to him. Li Yun was to be killed on sight.

In truth, that order had not been sent to Xin Lu alone. Every true disciple of Boundless Martial Palace had received the same command. If they encountered Li Yun, they were to eliminate him immediately.

“Qi Sea Realm, fourth level?” Xin Lu thought inwardly, his eyes narrowing slightly. “So the intelligence was wrong.”

According to the report sent by the Secret Hall, Li Yun should have only been at the second level of the Qi Sea Realm. Yet now, in less than expected time, he had somehow risen two small realms higher.

“He must have obtained and consumed some heavenly treasures from the tomb Yan Luo mentioned.” Xin Lu thought to himself as his mind moved quickly.

A dangerous smile slowly curved at the corner of his lips before he withdrew his gaze and turned away.

Since he had already encountered Li Yun here, there was no chance he would allow him to leave alive. However, the gathering had only just begun, and there was no reason to act too hastily. There would be plenty of opportunities before the day ended.

“He wants to kill me?” Li Yun raised an eyebrow slightly.

Although Xin Lu had hidden his emotions well and revealed nothing on the surface, Li Yun’s Nine Tribulations Divine Eye saw far more than ordinary eyes ever could.

Through that gaze, he could clearly perceive the killing intent buried within Xin Lu’s expression. The murderous desire hidden in the depths of his eyes was as obvious to Li Yun as fire in the dark.

Xin Lu’s position at 101 on the Hidden Dragon Ranking was enough to prove his strength. Such a ranking meant he far surpassed Mu Lan and every other genius Li Yun had encountered so far.

Of course, the Hidden Dragon Ranking was not assigned casually. It was created after evaluating the abilities of rising talents and judging how they would likely perform in the upcoming Hidden Dragon Tournament.

To stand at that level meant Xin Lu was unquestionably formidable.

At this time, the tea gathering had already begun in full. Fine rain drifted down from the gray sky, adding a cool and elegant atmosphere to the summit.

Around the pavilions, cultivators sat with cups of tea in hand, speaking with one another while observing the crowd.

As for the distance between the various pavilions, it was meaningless to people of their cultivation. With even a slight infusion of qi into one’s voice, words could travel clearly across the entire mountaintop.

If someone wished to speak privately, they only needed to condense their voice and send it through essence qi directly to the intended listener.

“Yang Tianyu, one month ago you gravely injured my junior brother. Do you think this matter can simply be forgotten? Get out here now!”

A figure shot from one of the pavilions like an arrow loosed from a bow. He landed heavily upon the martial stage, pointed toward another pavilion, and roared in anger.

“Zheng Yi, have you finally grown some courage? You dare challenge me?”

The young man named Yang Tianyu’s expression darkened as he rose into the air and descended onto the martial stage opposite his challenger.

“Enough nonsense. Receive my Divine Wind Fist!” Zheng Yi shouted as he struck first.

“Who fears you?” Yang Tianyu answered coldly.

The two instantly clashed. Their figures blurred across the stage as fists and palms collided in rapid succession. Surging energy spread outward in waves, stirring the rain and shaking the air.

Grudges between sects were common in the martial world. Some rivalries were minor, while others were written in blood and hatred.

When disciples from hostile sects met, the outcome often came down to life or death. Clearly, the two men on the stage had carried resentment for a long time.

After dozens of exchanges, Yang Tianyu gradually seized control of the battle. His attacks became fiercer, his movements sharper, and his momentum heavier with each strike.

Then, with one sudden move, he tore through Zheng Yi’s defense. Before anyone could react, he stepped forward and prepared to unleash a killing blow.

“During the Tea Ceremony, killing is forbidden. How about we end this matter here, for my sake?”

Just as the fatal strike was about to descend, a graceful figure appeared on the martial stage as though she had crossed the distance in a single step. Her voice was calm, yet it carried unquestionable authority.

“Die!” Yang Tianyu roared, his expression filled with ruthlessness. He showed no intention of withdrawing his attack.

The newcomer was a stunning young woman whose bearing was both elegant and imposing. Seeing that Yang Tianyu still intended to kill, she frowned slightly and raised her hand.

The moment her sleeve moved, the air before her stirred. In the empty space between them, it seemed as though a fresh blossom had suddenly bloomed.

Gentle and beautiful at first glance, yet it carried immense force. The strange manifestation instantly intercepted Yang Tianyu’s attack and dissolved its momentum.

“Hmph.” Yang Tianyu snorted coldly. “Zheng Yi, for Qin Ling’s sake, I will spare you this time. The next time we meet, I will kill you.”

With those harsh words, he turned sharply and flew back toward his pavilion.

He understood very well that once Qin Ling had stepped in, he no longer had any chance of finishing the matter.

“Damn it.” Zheng Yi’s face turned pale and ugly. He had been the one to issue the challenge, hoping to reclaim his dignity, yet in the end he was defeated publicly instead. The humiliation weighed heavily on him.

“Qin Ling, I, Zheng, am lacking in skill. I take my leave.”

After cupping his fists toward her, Zheng Yi wasted no further time and quickly departed from the summit of Heaven Dew Peak.

Yang Tianyu watched him leave and briefly seemed tempted to pursue him, but after a moment’s thought, he restrained himself.

Qin Ling let out a faint sigh. She said nothing more. With a light tap of her foot against the ground, her figure drifted back toward her pavilion like a leaf carried by the wind.
