Chapter 273: Arrest Warrant!
Chapter 273: Arrest Warrant!
Heaven Dew Peak was the place where the Tea Ceremony of Sword Saint County was held every single time.
It had long since become the traditional gathering ground for the younger generation, a place where talents met, exchanged insights, and measured themselves against one another.
At this moment, Li Yun was making his way toward that very mountain. He had emerged from seclusion a week earlier and arrived in Sword Saint County soon after.
During the past several days, he had stayed in a fine inn, spending his time enjoying the rich delicacies of the county and observing the atmosphere of the region.
After living there for a full week, Li Yun had to admit that Sword Saint County truly deserved its reputation as one of the Five Great Counties of the Southern Martial Domain. Its fame was not empty praise.
The streets were prosperous, the people carried themselves with confidence, and the entire county possessed a refined yet vibrant spirit that far surpassed ordinary places.
Now, one week later, the day of the Tea Ceremony had finally arrived. Since the event was being hosted at Heaven Dew Peak, Li Yun was naturally heading there without delay.
Heaven Dew Peak was known for its endless rain. A soft drizzle shrouded the mountain throughout the year, giving the place a calm and ethereal beauty.
Before Li Yun had even fully approached the peak, fine droplets had already begun to fall from the sky, dampening the air with a cool and refreshing mist.
When he reached the foot of the mountain, he began ascending along a long staircase made of white stone. The steps wound upward through the drifting rain like a path leading into the clouds.
By the time Li Yun arrived at the summit, the mountaintop was already filled with life and movement.
This Tea Ceremony was clearly the liveliest it had been in the last ten years, with more than two hundred participants in attendance. Under normal circumstances, only around one hundred people would appear, and in quieter years the number might even fall to only a few dozen.
Although two hundred people did not seem overwhelming when compared to the countless True Disciples scattered across the entire Southern Martial Domain, it was by no means a small gathering.
More importantly, those who had come were not ordinary figures from the lower ranks. Most were well-known talents, individuals with status, strength, and reputation.
The summit of Heaven Dew Peak was surprisingly broad and level.
Dozens of elegant pavilions had been built around the four edges of the mountaintop, surrounding the area like silent guardians. At the very center stood a massive combat arena.
The arena had clearly been strengthened by powerful formations. Its surface did not resemble ordinary metal or jade, and faint traces of elemental energy flowed across it like hidden veins beneath stone.
It was obvious that the platform had been prepared to withstand fierce battles between exceptional cultivators.
“Li Yun!”
From one of the nearby pavilions, Han Li and Han Xue spotted him at once and immediately sent a voice transmission toward him.
Beside Han Li, a young man noticed the unusual reaction of the siblings and instinctively followed their line of sight.
Hearing the call, Li Yun’s figure blurred for an instant. In the next moment, he had already appeared inside the pavilion.
“Li Yun, it is a good thing you arrived in time. Missing a tea gathering of this scale would have been a real pity.” Han Li said with a smile as he rose to greet him.
Li Yun laughed lightly and replied, “How could I possibly miss such a grand occasion?”
Han Li nodded, then gestured toward the young man beside him. “Li Yun, this is Senior Brother Huo Ming of Burning Heaven Sect.”
He then turned toward the other side and continued, “Senior Brother Huo, this is Li Yun, a True Disciple of Martial Ascension Gate.”
“You are Li Yun?” Huo Ming asked, unable to hide his surprise.
Li Yun looked at him calmly. “Is there a problem?”
Huo Ming gave a faint smile before speaking. “Not long ago, while I was in another city, a warrant for your arrest was issued. It came from Boundless Martial Palace.”
“There was such a thing?” Han Li and Han Xue exclaimed at the same time, both visibly startled.
To be publicly wanted by a sect was never a trivial matter. It became even more serious when that sect happened to be one of the Four Great Sects of the Southern Martial Domain.
Li Yun’s brows slowly drew together. If his guess was correct, this matter was most likely connected to Yan Luo. She had escaped the last time they met and must have returned to report everything about him. That was probably the reason this warrant had appeared.
Huo Ming continued, his tone growing more serious. “However, the warrant was withdrawn soon afterward. I believe it did not spread too widely because your Martial Ascension Gate interfered. Even so, you should remain cautious. In the pavilion directly opposite us, there are two true disciples from Boundless Martial Palace. One of them is Xin Lu, ranked 101 on the Hidden Dragon Ranking.”
As he spoke, Huo Ming’s gaze shifted toward the pavilion across the summit.
Li Yun followed his line of sight.
The instant his eyes landed there, another gaze met his from afar.
For a brief moment, the air between the two pavilions seemed to freeze. It was as though invisible lightning had flashed through the void.
“Is that Xin Lu?” Li Yun thought silently.
Standing at the railing of the second floor was a young man with his hands clasped behind his back. He looked no older than twenty-five.
Long black hair rested over his shoulders, and his eyes were sharp enough to resemble drawn blades. His cultivation had already reached the third level of the Essence Qi Realm.
His aura was powerful, fierce, and oppressive. Although it had not yet reached the terrifying level of the demonic martial artist who once occupied Mu Lan’s body, it was still far beyond ordinary cultivators.
Clearly, he recognized Li Yun.
