Chapter 177: Robe Thief!
Chapter 177: Robe Thief!
Seeing this, the Boundless Martial Palace disciples also released their auras without hesitation.
“So you truly want to fight,” Zhao Shu said coldly.
Behind him, the four senior disciples from the Boundless Martial Palace stepped forward slowly. Their cultivation at the ninth level of the Xiantian Realm spread across the battlefield like a heavy tide.
One of them spoke with a calm yet oppressive tone.
“Ling Zhen, you should think carefully before making such a reckless decision. Once we act, none of you will leave this place unscathed.”
Ling Zhen laughed coldly.
“You think only your Boundless Martial Palace has senior disciples?”
Behind him, the Martial Ascension Gate senior brothers also stepped forward, their powerful auras colliding directly with the pressure coming from the opposite side.
The air between the two groups grew extremely heavy.
Dust stirred on the ground as invisible currents of energy clashed in the space between them.
Weapons were raised.
Hostile gazes locked onto one another.
At that moment, it was clear to everyone present that the situation had already reached the edge of eruption. A single word or movement would be enough to ignite a full battle between the two powerful sects.
From the sidelines, Li Yun carefully observed the situation unfolding before him. As he studied the two opposing groups, he quickly noticed that both Ling Zhen and Zhao Shu bore several injuries on their bodies.
It was clear that this was not the first clash between them over the Martial Dao Crystal. The tension in the air suggested that the two sides had already fought multiple times before the arrival of their reinforcements.
Meanwhile, the surrounding disciples began to retreat even farther from the center of the confrontation. Although they were already standing a considerable distance away, they still continued to move back cautiously.
Most of these disciples possessed cultivation around the fifth or sixth level of the Xiantian Realm, regardless of whether they belonged to the Martial Ascension Gate or the Boundless Martial Palace. In a battle where senior disciples at the ninth level of the Xiantian Realm were involved, they understood that stepping forward would only become a burden to their own side.
Because of this, they could only remain at a distance and watch the confrontation unfold.
“Hehe, this is perfect.”
A faint smile appeared on Li Yun’s face as he quietly withdrew from the crowd.
He moved to a more secluded spot far from the gathering of disciples. After making sure that no one was paying attention to him, he carefully looked around to confirm that no one was nearby.
Once he was certain that he was alone, Li Yun reached into his storage ring and took out a robe.
It was a robe very similar to the one he was already wearing.
“I never thought I would have to use something like this,” Li Yun said with a quiet sigh.
He lifted the robe and placed it over his head, pulling the fabric down so that his entire face was completely concealed. The robe that was originally meant to be worn as clothing now served as a makeshift mask.
Li Yun let out a helpless sigh.
“I can only imagine the strange looks I will receive if someone sees this,” he muttered with a wry smile. “But for the sake of the Martial Dao Crystal, it cannot be helped.”
As he spoke, he made a firm decision in his mind.
Situations like this were likely to occur frequently in the cultivation world. He could not keep using his clothes to hide his identity every time.
A proper mask would certainly be much more convenient in the future.
“The heist begins.”
Li Yun muttered those words with a faint trace of excitement in his voice. In the next instant, his figure blurred and vanished like a gust of wind.
Activating the Raging Wind Tiger Art, his body surged forward through the canyon with astonishing speed. The movement technique transformed his momentum into something fierce and untamed, like a raging tiger formed entirely from wind. His silhouette flashed rapidly across the rocky terrain as he advanced toward the center of the canyon.
Although he was moving quickly, his figure could still be seen by the many disciples scattered around the area.
“What was that?”
One disciple blinked in confusion as he caught sight of the rapidly approaching figure.
“He is moving incredibly fast, but what is that thing on his head?”
Another disciple squinted in disbelief.
“Wait a moment. Is that a robe? Is he actually wearing a robe on his head?”
Several others stared in stunned silence before bursting into laughter.
“I bet he is moving so fast because he does not want anyone to see what he is wearing on his head.”
“This is ridiculous. I have never seen someone look so absurd before.”
However, the amusement quickly faded as they realized where the strange figure was heading.
“Wait a moment. He is moving toward the center of the canyon.”
“That is where the disciples from the two sects are fighting.”
“Could he be planning to interfere in the battle?”
Although Li Yun was moving swiftly, his strange appearance was impossible to ignore. The disciples from both sects could clearly see a figure rushing through the canyon with a robe completely covering his head. The sight looked so ridiculous that many of them initially found it amusing.
However, once they realized that the mysterious figure was heading straight toward the battlefield, their expressions gradually became serious.
Soon, Li Yun arrived at the very center of the confrontation between the two groups.
His sudden appearance immediately drew the attention of everyone present. The ongoing battle between the disciples abruptly halted as both sides turned their gaze toward the newcomer.
The strange sight of a man standing there with a robe covering his entire head was simply too bizarre to ignore.
Zhao Shu frowned as he looked at the newcomer. The presence of a third party at such a critical moment clearly irritated him.
“Who are you?” Zhao Shu asked coldly. “And what exactly do you want here?”
He examined Li Yun carefully and sensed the aura of cultivation coming from him. Once he realized that the man only possessed cultivation at the third level of the Xiantian Realm, Zhao Shu relaxed slightly.
Li Yun smiled beneath the robe that concealed his face, though no one could see the expression hidden behind the fabric.
“Hehehe.”
His voice carried a playful tone as he spoke.
“I have been known by many names,” he said calmly. “But today you may call me the Robe Thief.”
He paused for a brief moment before continuing.
“And I have come here for one purpose.”
“To steal the Martial Dao Crystal.”
