Chapter 735: Chapter 728: Safe Zone

Chaotic Paradise, Northern Border, Ziying Safety Zone.

Rebirth Square.

Outside the Rebirth Square, hundreds of candidates had already gathered.

They stared toward the Rebirth Square with wide eyes, as if waiting for something.

"Hasn’t this batch of candidates arrived yet? I wonder how many will be randomly assigned to the Ziying Safety Zone."

"I heard the Alliance outside lowered the threshold for contacting the Law. Are all the candidates in this batch selected from Low level Civilizations?"

"Low level Civilizations? That’s great! If that’s true, this batch of candidates probably won’t be very strong. This means..."

"It’s hard to say. Some Low level Civilizations have powerful individuals, too. Besides, not many might be assigned here."

"I’m quite curious what will happen to those beings from Low level Civilizations after they enter Chaotic Paradise."

"Forget it. This is just the organization responding to the Alliance’s policy changes. What true geniuses could come from Low level Civilizations? By the way, have you guys checked the Star Chart? The rankings updated again yesterday. That Bing Zhimou defeated the leader of the Dark Nether Star and has already broken into the top ten."

"That woman is a true genius. Those top ten on the Star Chart have been there for almost twenty years, right? Everyone thought the top ten would never change unless those guys hit their limit and chose to transform and leave. I can’t believe a newcomer broke through. Hasn’t Bing Zhimou been in Chaotic Paradise for less than three years?"

"The newcomers from the last decade are really strong. Besides Bing Zhimou, several other rookies from the past ten years also seem to be aiming for the top ten..."

"..."

While waiting, the candidates present began to chat idly.

Just then, WHIRR!! More than a dozen streaks of light suddenly appeared in the sky above the Safety Zone. Everyone knew it was the sign of new candidates arriving.

Immediately, everyone stopped chatting. They immersed their consciousness, activated their Life True Talismans, and opened the corresponding interface in their minds.

Now it was a race of speed, a contest to see who could be the first to snatch an initial guidance mission for the new candidates from their Life True Talisman’s task panel the moment they arrived.

In all of Chaotic Paradise, this was probably the easiest, simplest, most time-efficient, and most profitable mission available.

It was infinitely better than toiling away mining in the Star Condensing True Vein south of the Safety Zone.

Moreover, these types of missions often came with side benefits, making them the top choice for weaker candidates.

That was why so many people had gathered here after getting advance notice that new candidates would be arriving.

Just then, more than a dozen pillars of light descended. The teleportation ended, the pillars gradually faded, and one by one, distinct figures appeared before the crowd.

In just an instant, the dozen or so initial guidance missions were all snapped up.

"Fuck! Are they all out of their damn minds? How is their consciousness so fast?!"

"Didn’t get a single mission. Let’s bounce."

"Oh well. Guess I’ll go mine in the southern district just to get by."

"Wanna team up? The roads have been dangerous lately. I’ve been ganked three times this month already."

"Nah, forget it. Last time I teamed up, it turned out to be a scam party. They were all in cahoots except for me. Good thing I’d spent all my Value Points beforehand."

"Now that you mention it, that makes me a little nervous. I think I’ll just go on my own too..."

"I’ve been in the Primordial Star Organization for almost half a year and I’m still stuck mining. I wonder when I’ll be able to break through to the next Transformation Level."

Muttering curses, the candidates who failed to get a mission watched for a little while longer before slowly dispersing.

Only the dozen or so candidates who had accepted a mission remained.

Zhou Yuanjue felt the light dissipate, and a square appeared before his eyes.

Soon, he received a message from his Life True Talisman.

"Please follow your guide and familiarize yourself with the situation as soon as possible. Duration of free protected status: three days."

’Safety Zone? A guide?’

Zhou Yuanjue was slightly taken aback.

"Oh, another humanoid. That’s nice. At least you’re easy on the eyes."

Just then, a mental message came from beside him, the voice having the distinct characteristics of a young female.

Zhou Yuanjue looked forward and saw a female being about half his height. She was also humanoid, but she had fine fur growing from her pupils, buttocks, and ears, giving her some indistinct bestial features. She was looking at him with a smile.

"Hi there. Let’s get acquainted. I’m your guide. You can call me Lily."

Lily said to Zhou Yuanjue with a cheerful grin, her pair of unnaturally large eyes blinking constantly.

’She seems very friendly. This is a bit different from what Lono said, isn’t it?’

"Hello."

Zhou Yuanjue gave Lily a slight nod, but he still felt a little doubtful.

"Relax. Inside a Safety Zone, no one can harm you. This is the ’Law.’ No one in the entire Chaotic Paradise can defy it."

"Next, I’ll explain the basics of Chaotic Paradise to you."

"This isn’t the place to talk. Follow me. I’ll show you around the Ziying Safety Zone and explain the functions of the Life True Talisman."

With that, Lily turned and skipped merrily out of the Rebirth Square.

After a moment of thought, Zhou Yuanjue followed her.

Over the next while, Lily gave Zhou Yuanjue a brief introduction to the functions of the Safety Zone.

The entire Safety Zone was composed of countless, sparsely furnished "small rooms." Its main function was to provide shelter for candidates.

Combat was forbidden within the Safety Zone. Furthermore, depending on the zone’s scale, level, and the style of the rooms, they were infused with varying degrees of the Black Seal Civilization’s Rune Technology. This technology could accelerate the rate at which a being’s Power of the True Realm gathered, improve their concentration, and even increase their speed of thought.

However, staying in the Safety Zone required a daily deduction of Value Points from one’s Life True Talisman. The most basic fee was one hundred points per day.

According to Lily, for a weaker candidate to earn one hundred Value Points in Chaotic Paradise, they would need to either mine in the Star Condensing Ore Vein for about three days or take on a corresponding mission.

Next were some of the basic functions of the Life True Talisman.

For example, the trading function. One could obtain Value Points by completing missions or trading items. These points could then be exchanged for materials, potions and devices made with advanced techniques to aid Cultivation, or even Data and intelligence. One could even trade for precious True Realm Curiosities.

There was also the Star Chart function. To exchange for certain high-level items, one needed not only a large amount of Value Points but also a sufficient number of Points. Points could be earned through methods such as increasing one’s Transformation Level or completing difficult missions. The fastest way to gain Points, however, was to defeat powerful individuals in the same or a higher Point bracket.

The Star Chart recorded the top one hundred beings in the Point rankings across all of Chaotic Paradise. These individuals represented the strongest combat power on this continent.
