Chapter 29: City Problem

"Miya, you’ve really grown up. I still remember when you were just a little girl learning how to swim," Owen said gently before sitting down.

When he sat on the floor as well, the others were forced to follow one after another. His influence was second only to Alexander’s, and he had a high chance of becoming a Lord of Earth.

"Huh!" Alexander was also forced to sit.

And seeing everyone sitting on the floor, Enzo wanted to close his eyes.

He couldn’t bear to look at them. It was simply too ridiculous.

The problem was that he was sitting on the sofa directly in front of them.

His classmate, Liam Stanley, chose to lower his head rather than look at him.

"Mr. Joe, contact all the clan members outside the city and overseas. Let them join this meeting through Zoom..." Miya ordered again.

"What?" Everyone was stunned.

"Miya, that’s unnecessary," Bastian Stanley said.

"Why not? I just realized something. After the ceremony, I should have invited all my relatives to get to know my husband better," Miya replied.

To carry out the order, Mr. Joe only needed to press a button on a remote control. A large screen immediately appeared in front of the door and lit up.

Then, one face after another appeared on the screen.

Everyone was contacted by the main residence immediately, regardless of their age. As branch family members, how could they dare refuse a call from the main residence?

As more faces appeared, each one became smaller.

After only a short while, Enzo realized there were more than a hundred faces.

They all looked surprised when they appeared. Their own screens clearly showed the living room of the residence from four different angles because four cameras were active, one in each corner.

"Miya, this is going too far. The other families will find out about this because someone will definitely leak the recording," Alexander said.

He could accept being forced to sit on the floor.

But the branch members outside the city weren’t completely tied to the Stanley Family anymore because their relationships had grown distant over the years.

"Miya, you’re letting your emotions dictate your actions, and this will turn our family into a laughingstock. As the leader, you should consider the family’s reputation," Bastian Stanley commented again.

As the one responsible for handling the family’s businesses and frequently interacting with outsiders, he cared the most about their reputation.

This time, he felt extremely embarrassed. Just imagining the video being leaked made his heart tremble.

But Miya ignored him. She rested her head against her hand.

Enzo wasn’t sure what she was actually planning.

Two minutes passed.

Then three.

Then ten.

She remained silent.

"By the way, brother-in-law, are you going back to your university tomorrow?" Aaron suddenly asked.

In the end, he was the one who broke the silence.

Enzo was slightly surprised.

Brother-in-law? That should only refer to him.

"Maybe," he replied.

"If you’re going to the university, you should be careful," Aaron said.

"Why?" Enzo asked in confusion, while Miya raised an eyebrow.

Enzo wondered if he was being targeted because he had become Miya’s husband.

"It’s because there’s a problem in the city," Aaron replied, confusing Enzo even more.

It turned out to have nothing to do with their marriage.

"We’re facing a serious problem, and that’s why we’ve all come here to discuss it. After all, City Z is the Stanley Family’s base. If there’s a problem, naturally, we’re the ones who have to step forward and deal with it."

"A serious problem?"

Enzo was quite surprised to hear that.

The fact that she called Aaron "fourth brother" made Enzo realize that Miya wasn’t actually that cold toward her relatives.

She probably addressed the others as her brothers as well.

"So here’s what happened. This afternoon, several ordinary people suddenly erupted with extraordinary power, equivalent to Level 4 to Level 6 Spiritual Warriors. They caused chaos with their newfound strength, and then their bodies suddenly shattered into pieces an hour later.

"It happened at fifteen different locations, all in crowded areas.

"A similar case happened three years ago in New York, but it never happened again, and the investigation produced no results. However, back then, they only lasted for ten minutes before their bodies shattered into pieces. This time, they actually survived for an entire hour.

"It wouldn’t matter as much if this happened in another city, but it happened here in City Z.

He had heard about the incident in New York before.
