Chapter 273 | Get Away From My Wife!
The old man’s eyes briefly moved toward the saber. “A good blade.”
Then toward Dexter’s flames. “And a troublesome bloodline.”
His expression remained completely indifferent. “But you should learn when to lower your head.”
The old man lifted one hand as his index finger extended towards Dexter.
Dexter’s entire body froze as a single world reverberated through his entire body.
‘Death!’
Every very hair on his body rose as his
heartbeat thundered.
In that split second, his bloodline reacted before his mind did. The old man hadn’t attacked yet, yet Dexter felt as though he were already standing before the gates of death.
His fingers tightened as mana erupted with an explosive force!
“Asura Slaughter Demon Body!”
Patterns crawled across Dexter’s flesh as his muscles expanded and a murderous pressure erupted like a tsunami.
“Indestructible Buddha Endurance Scripture!”
Golden energy surged beneath his skin as his flesh tightened and his bones hardened. His organs became protected beneath layers of cultivated strength.
The old man’s eyebrow moved slightly.
But Dexter wasn’t finished. “Flame Demon Transformation!”
“BOOOOOOM!!!”
Dark flames erupted toward the sky like an nuclear explosion shooting out massive pillar of light into the skies.
Dexter’s form changed as g laming markings spread across his body. His hair whipped upward as his eyes burned like two suns.
Blue lightning wrapped around his right side and Abyssal Heavenly Flame covered his left.
Flame. Thunder. Bloodline. Body cultivation. Weapon. Everything merged making Dexter looked less like a Superhuman Realm cultivator and more like a demon god dragged from a battlefield.
The old man watched. “Interesting.”
Suddenly, he included his middle finger with his index finger as he pushed forward.
“DIE!!!”
Dexter roared and the Void Star Saber screamed.
Spatial patterns across the blade erupted as space itself twisted and churned along its edge. Dexter slashed forward with his might.
“Rumble!!!”
The old man face turned cold as he tapped forward with his fingers.
But as the two strikes connected, there was no explosion, nor was there any dramatic manifestation.
Just one finger as a thin invisible force touched Dexter’s blade.
Then… silence!
Dexter’s eyes widened as the lightning vanished first as though erased from existence. Then the flames split and his spatial slash collapsed.
Dexter’s eyes widened as the force continued, his arms shook and his teeth clenched tightly and even the earth beneath him cracked into a massive creater.
For one impossible instant… he actually held it.
The old man’s expression finally changed slightly.
Dexter roared. “GET…” Blood vessels burst across his arms. “…AWAY…” His muscles tore. “…FROM…” He forced the saber sideways. “…MY WIFE!”
The finger force shifted slightly. But enough. The attack that had been aimed directly at Dexter’s chest moved as it penetrated.
‘PSSSH!’
Dexter’s body trembled.
Something punched through his left shoulder.
A perfect hole appeared as blood sprayed behind him and then the remaining force detonated.
‘BOOM!’
Dexter vanished as he flew through the forest like an artillery shell.
One hundred meters, two, three!
‘BANG!!!’
His body struck the side of a mountain and the entire mountainside trembled.
“RUMBLE!”
“CRAAAAACK!”
Fractures spread across the rock as birds exploded from trees. Loose stones tumbled downward and Dexter fell to the ground.
‘BANG!’
One knee struck the ground as his saber scraped beside him.
For several seconds, he couldn’t breathe as nothing entered his lungs. His mouth opened but there was no air.
Then suddenly… “GAAH!”
He dragged in a breath as pain exploded through him. His left shoulder was gone through as
Bbood poured down his chest. His shirt rapidly became soaked and his left arm hung uselessly.
Dexter looked at it. Then toward the distant old man. The elder stared back, and a faint crease appeared between his brows.
“You diverted it.”
His lips curled. “Even if you diverted it, my Transendant energy should kill you soon.”
Dexter coughed as blood splattered the ground
and a mysterious force surged through his entire body like a parasite destroying his bones, tissue, organs and flesh rapidly.
But Dexter wasn’t an ordinary person! His bones were comparable to iron, his flesh was thicker than leather and his organs were alredy forged. It wouldn’t be easy to destroy them.
The finger had been aimed at his chest but at the final instant, Dexter had forced the attack sideways. Barely.
The old man lowered his hand. “Consider that your warning.”
He turned and behind him, the two Peak Ultra experts were struggling out of the rubble.
The first held his chest where Dexter’s saber had opened a deep wound. The second’s arm hung unnaturally after the Eightfold Lightning Severance.
“Seventh Elder…”
The old man didn’t look at them. “Pathetic.”
Both lowered their heads. “We apologize.”
“Take yourselves back.”
Space began rippling beside him. The old man’s hand returned to Aurelyx’s shoulder.
Dexter saw it and his eyes became bloodshot. He planted the Void Star Saber into the ground as he stood up. Blood poured from his shoulder. His left arm remained useless. But he stood.
“Where…” The old man stopped. Dexter pulled the saber free. Blood ran over his lips. “Where do you think you’re taking my wife?”
Aurelyx looked toward him and for one brief instant, something changed in her eyes.
But then Aurelyx’s cold expression returned.
The old man looked back, and irritation finally appeared. “You survived because I allowed it.”
Dexter took one step, his boot leaving blood behind. The saber trembled in his hand. “Then…” Another step. “…try again.”
The two injured Ultra experts stared. One almost couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The old man’s expression darkened, and his finger rose again. This time, the pressure was different. Far worse.
Dexter felt the mountain behind him groan. He lifted his saber as his body screamed.
It didn’t matter. Lyra was behind that man. Dexter would rather crawl back to the festival carrying her than walk back without her.
The old man’s finger straightened. “Fool.”
Then a voice came from above. “Who gave you permission…”
The old man’s finger stopped.
“…to do as you wish here?”
Silence. Everyone looked up.
An elderly woman stood on top of a massive boulder. Her hands were behind her back. Gray hair stirred gently in the wind with absolutely no aura and mana pressure. There was nothing that gave away her position.
