Investing in My Harem in the Apocalypse Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 195: Special Advancement Mission Completed
Thunderclap Momentum accumulated with every acceleration, and the storm surrounding him became increasingly violent as streaks of bluish-white Lightning crossed the battlefield.
Dmitri slowly turned and followed the streaks of bluish-white light with his eyes.
He understood what Ron was doing.
“You’re building momentum.” Dmitri’s eyes lit up.
Ron did not answer as he simply continued what he was doing.
Dmitri knew there was no point trying to chase him. He would never be able to compete with Ron in speed, so he planted the bottom of his halberd against the ground instead.
Force Mana surged throughout his body.
The momentum accumulated through Unstoppable Momentum began flowing toward his weapon.
Since Ron wanted to decide everything with one attack, Dmitri had no intention of backing down.
Cain watched the two from outside the battlefield, his eyes narrowed when he noticed the amount of energy both of them were accumulating.
“These two idiots…”
Evelyne looked toward him worriedly.
“Should we stop them?”
“No.”
Cain continued watching carefully.
“They know this isn’t a death match. That’s why they haven’t used any strong skills yet.”
He paused briefly before chuckling lightly.
“Until now, that is…”
Across the plaza, Dmitri pulled the halberd backward.
Force Mana gathered around the blade and became increasingly dense.
The pressure coming from the weapon caused small cracks to spread beneath his feet as he prepared to use his strongest skill—Heaven-Splitting Halberd.
At the same time, Ron finally stopped holding back as the Thunder God Overdrive surged at full power.
Lightning immediately became far more violent around his body as enormous amounts of Mana flooded through his muscles and Mana pathways.
His speed increased once again.
By now, his movement had become difficult for many of the 2nd Echelons watching to follow.
The spear in his hands trembled as Lightning gathered around it.
More and more energy compressed toward the spearhead.
Ron continued accelerating until the accumulated momentum reached the highest level he could currently control.
Then he turned.
A streak of Lightning tore across the plaza.
Ron charged straight toward Dmitri.
Dmitri’s eyes sharpened.
He did not retreat. War God Step skill erupted beneath his feet as he rushed forward as well.
The two rapidly approached each other from opposite sides.
Force Mana surrounding Dmitri’s halberd became increasingly violent.
Lightning gathered around Ron’s spear until the weapon was nearly hidden inside the bluish-white light.
Dmitri used his (Heaven-Splitting Halberd) skill as the halberd descended.
All of the Force Mana and momentum Dmitri had accumulated throughout the battle erupted through that single strike.
The air distorted around the blade.
Ron did not dodge as he tightened both hands around his spear.
Every bit of momentum accumulated through Thunderclap Momentum surged into the weapon.
Lightning compressed violently around the spearhead as he used his (Heavenly Thunder Dragon Spear) skill.
Ron thrust forward, a massive Thunder Dragon erupted from his spear.
The Lightning Dragon collided directly with Dmitri’s descending halberd.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
The entire ruined plaza shook. Lightning and compressed Force exploded outward from the collision.
The ground beneath both fighters shattered as a violent shockwave swept through the surrounding area.
Several spectators were forced backward, while some others raised their arms to protect their faces from the broken stone flying through the air.
At the center of the explosion, Ron and Dmitri continued pushing against each other.
Dmitri clenched his teeth.
Force Mana poured continuously into the halberd, his arms trembled beneath the enormous pressure.
Ron’s expression was no better, the muscles across his arms tightened as Lightning violently surged throughout his body.
For several seconds, neither attack gave way.
Then Ron pushed Thunder God Overdrive even further, Lightning erupted beneath his feet.
The remaining momentum stored inside Thunderclap Momentum surged forward at once.
The Thunder Dragon roared as its power suddenly increased.
Dmitri’s expression changed when cracks began appearing throughout the compressed Force surrounding his halberd.
His eyes widened.
“This…”
CRACK!
The Force then shattered.
The Thunder Dragon swallowed the halberd and continued forward.
Dmitri barely had enough time to do anything before the remaining Lightning struck him directly.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
His large body was launched backward.
Blood sprayed from his mouth as violent lightning tore through his body.
Several ribs broke beneath the impact.
The muscles throughout his arms and body spasmed uncontrollably as the Lightning Mana entered his body.
Dmitri flew across the plaza before crashing heavily into the ruined ground.
BANG!
Stone shattered beneath him.
His halberd was thrown from his hands and landed several meters away.
Silence spread across the battlefield.
Ron slid backward from the recoil before finally stopping himself.
The Lightning surrounding his body slowly weakened.
His breathing had become much heavier after going all out, while the earlier injuries across his shoulder and ribs continued causing him pain.
However, he was still standing still and Dmitri was not.
The large man lay inside a shallow crater.
Blood covered his mouth and part of his chest.
His breathing came out rough and uneven.
One of his arms trembled as he attempted to push himself upright.
He barely managed to raise his upper body before another violent cough escaped him.
Cough!
Dark-red blood splattered onto the broken stone.
His arm gave out and Dmitri collapsed again.
Viktor’s expression immediately changed.
“Dmitri.”
Evelyne prepared to rush forward, but Cain raised one hand.
“Wait.”
The match had not officially ended yet as Dmitri was still conscious.
His gaze moved toward the halberd lying several meters away.
Then he looked toward Ron.
Ron stood on the opposite side of the destroyed plaza.
Lightning still occasionally flickered across his body.
He was injured and clearly exhausted after releasing his strongest attack.
But he could continue fighting.
Dmitri remained silent for several seconds.
Finally, he relaxed his body against the shattered ground.
“…Fuck.”
Dmitri looked toward him and released a heavy breath.
“You win.”
[Ding!]
A translucent screen appeared before Ron’s eyes.
[Temporary Objective completed.]
[You have defeated Dmitri in the mutually acknowledged sparring match.]
[Your 3rd-Echelon Advancement Mission has been completed.]
Ron stared at the notification.
A grin slowly spread across his face.
Cain saw it and immediately knew what was coming.
“Don’t.”
Ron turned toward him and frowned.
“I haven’t even said anything yet.”
“I know you like the back of my hand.”
Cain pointed toward Dmitri.
“Save the bragging until Evelyne makes sure you didn’t put him in the grave.”
Ron looked toward the rubble, his grin weakened slightly.
“Fair enough.”
Cain lowered his hand.
Evelyne immediately rushed past him.
Soft healing light gathered around her palms before she even reached Dmitri.
Viktor followed behind her.
Ron remained standing in the middle of the ruined plaza while the Lightning surrounding his body gradually disappeared.
Then he looked at the notification again.
His smile returned widely.
The ridiculous argument had somehow become Ron’s path toward the 3rd Echelon.
Ron’s expression changed as he suddenly felt something stir deep inside his body.
Without saying anything, he immediately sat down cross-legged in the middle of the ruined plaza and closed his eyes.
The Mana inside his Perfected Core began surging violently.
Lightning flickered across his skin as the accumulated energy within his body rushed toward the Core.
A powerful pressure gradually spread from him.
Cain looked toward Ron and smiled faintly in satisfaction.
I’m finally back, guys… and this time it’s for real because my body is finally almost fully recovered.
After being hospitalized for 4 days, I thought my body could already handle me sitting at my desk and working again.
But apparently not, because I literally fainted while writing and woke up in the hospital again LMAO
So yeah… after that, I decided to actually take a full rest until I was genuinely almost fully recovered.
And now, I finally am.
LET’S FUCKING GOOOOO!!!
