Chapter 111: Names (Priv Unlock Bonus)

’The village chief’s daughter, huh? Interesting.’

Kyle thought as Xi Yue turned around to leave the room. His gaze followed her retreating figure, and, naturally, his attention drifted toward the movement of her hips. Although her traditional hanfu concealed most of her figure, he could still make out the graceful outline of her body beneath the flowing fabric.

’Would look nice in latex.’

He nearly licked his lips at the thought but restrained himself when he remembered that Elder Yuan was still standing right in front of him.

’Behave, motherfucker. Behave. You’re a respectable guest right now.’

Unfortunately, his eyes had already betrayed him.

’Is he interested in the lady?’

Elder Yuan noticed where Kyle’s attention had wandered. Although the young man had been relatively discreet, the old doctor had lived long enough to recognize such behavior. After all, men were men, and beautiful women naturally attracted attention.

Xi Yue was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful women in their village. It would hardly be surprising if a young man like Kyle found himself captivated by her appearance.

"Yue’er is a kind and beautiful lady of our village," Elder Yuan remarked casually.

’Huh? Where did that come from? Did he notice me looking at her ass? Ah, fuck!’

Kyle immediately felt his face growing warmer.

He had thought he was being discreet, but apparently, the old man had caught him taking a peek at Xi Yue’s figure.

’Damn it. I haven’t even been here for a day, and I’ve already embarrassed myself. ARgh why am I so desperate for pussy.’

"Indeed, she’s pretty and definitely kind," Kyle replied, deciding not to pretend otherwise.

What was the point of hiding his appreciation when Elder Yuan had apparently already figured it out?

Besides, admitting that Xi Yue was beautiful wasn’t exactly a crime.

"But it’s very unfortunate that she’s been engaged to an ungrateful bastard!"

Elder Yuan’s expression suddenly changed as he mentioned her engagement. For a brief moment, his usual composure slipped, and the frustration on his face became unmistakable.

Kyle immediately perked up internally.

’Oh? What’s this? We have some interesting gossip here!’

The old man’s reaction had been far too pronounced to escape his attention. Whatever the circumstances surrounding Xi Yue’s engagement, Elder Yuan clearly wasn’t pleased about it.

Unfortunately, the elderly doctor seemed to realize that he had revealed too much.

"Well, please pardon me. I shouldn’t have lost my composure in front of our esteemed guest."

’Oh boy. I thought this would be straightforward, but it looks like I’ll have to take the route of infidelity and affairs. Well, not like I mind it. It’s going to be even more fun.’

Kyle couldn’t deny that the situation had suddenly become much more interesting.

Xi Yue was beautiful, kind, and apparently dissatisfied with her fiancé’s character, at least judging from Elder Yuan’s reaction. If her engagement was as troubled as it sounded, there might be more to the story than he initially imagined.

Of course, he didn’t know the full circumstances yet.

But that had never stopped his imagination from running wild.

"It’s alright. I get it. One must be a pretty pathetic bastard to ignore a beauty like her," Kyle remarked.

He kept his tone casual, though his words carried a hint of provocation.

"Exactly, Benefactor! He is a complete bastard—"

Elder Yuan abruptly stopped himself.

"Never mind. I shouldn’t bother you with such worldly affairs. You still need time to recover, so I shouldn’t trouble you any longer. Please rest well."

The old man quickly changed the subject, apparently realizing that he had already said more than he intended.

’Say what you got in your mind, man!’

Kyle was genuinely annoyed.

The old doctor had practically opened the door to an interesting story, only to slam it shut just as things were getting good.

What kind of person revealed the beginning of some juicy gossip and then refused to elaborate?

’Come on, old man! You can’t just tell me she’s engaged to an ungrateful bastard and then leave me hanging!’

Still, Kyle decided not to press the matter.

If Elder Yuan didn’t want to discuss it, there was little point in forcing him to reveal information he clearly preferred to keep private. Besides, Kyle had already established himself as a humble and respectful guest. Suddenly interrogating his benefactor about the private affairs of a young woman would hardly fit that image.

He would simply have to find out more later.

Kyle remained silent as Elder Yuan turned to leave.

However, just as the old man was about to step through the doorway, Kyle remembered something important.

"Doctor, since you’re not accepting anything from me, please at least tell me your names so I can remember you and the young lady as my saviors."

Elder Yuan paused and turned around.

For a moment, he seemed surprised by the request. Then his expression softened into a gentle smile.

"Thank you for your kind words. My name is Gu Yuan, and my apprentice, who is also the daughter of the village chief, is named Xi Yue."

Kyle nodded, committing both names to memory.

"Thanks for sharing your names. I’ll remember them."

The two exchanged a final respectful bow before Gu Yuan finally left the room.

Once the elderly doctor had disappeared through the doorway, Kyle was left alone with the crackling fireplace and the quiet wooden interior.

He slowly leaned back against the bed, allowing his exhausted body to settle into the mattress.

For a while, he simply stared at the ceiling.

Then a grin gradually spread across his face.

"Oh boy, it’s going to be fun."

He said it aloud, no longer bothering to hide his excitement now that nobody else was present.

His first dimensional adventure had nearly ended with his death, but things were finally starting to look up. He had escaped the forest, been rescued by a beautiful woman, and apparently earned himself the reputation of a hero by killing a beast that had terrorized the village for years.

And now, there was the matter of Xi Yue’s fiancé.

From what he had gathered, the man was apparently an ungrateful bastard, and Elder Yuan seemed to have a strong dislike for him.

’Lonely and unsatisfied women are too easy to get into their hearts.’

A rather cheesy smile appeared on Kyle’s face as he stared at the wooden ceiling, where thick beams and supporting pillars formed an intricate pattern.

He couldn’t help feeling that his protagonist journey had finally begun.

"My protagonist arc has finally begun!"

With renewed enthusiasm, he raised both hands triumphantly.

"GRRHH! SON OF A BITCH! IT HURTS!"

His celebration lasted approximately one second.

The moment he lifted his arms, a sharp pain shot through his injured shoulder. He immediately regretted the decision, lowering his hands while gritting his teeth.

He glanced at the bandages wrapped around his shoulder and noticed that the gauze had reddened slightly where the movement had aggravated his wound.

’Fuck... I really need to stop doing stupid shit.’

Kyle let out a long sigh and carefully settled back into bed and made himself comfortable as he would be in his house. He knew he will be spending long time here so why now make himself comfortable.
