Infinte Origin
The First Foundation
Chapter 42 — The First Foundation
Three days passed without a major battle.
For Aether, that was unusual.
The cave slowly changed.
The damaged formation was no longer a collection of broken lines carved into stone. Under Aether's control, the surviving structure had been connected, repaired, and strengthened with fresh Origin Energy.
[Formation Reconstruction: 24% → 63%]
[Origin Energy Stability: Improved]
[Origin Energy Density: High → Very High]
The difference was obvious.
The air inside the cave had become noticeably heavier with Origin Energy.
Even breathing felt different.
Lyra sat cross-legged near the center of the chamber, lightning occasionally crawling across her arms.
Aria trained farther away.
Her broken spear was gone.
In its place, she held a temporary weapon Aether had shaped from ordinary materials.
It wasn't powerful.
It wasn't meant to be.
It was simply strong enough for her to continue practicing while he worked on her real weapon.
Aria thrust forward.
A sharp burst of blue energy followed the spearhead.
The temporary weapon trembled.
She immediately stopped.
Aether looked over.
“Your energy is leaking through the shaft.”
Aria frowned.
“I noticed.”
“Don't force more power into it.”
“I wasn't.”
“You were.”
Aria stared at him.
Aether calmly returned to the formation.
She sighed.
“You've become annoying.”
Lyra opened one eye.
“You two really do sound like you've known each other forever.”
“We have,” Aria replied.
Aether's mouth curved slightly.
“That doesn't mean she gets to ignore instructions.”
Aria snorted.
“Still bossy.”
“Still reckless.”
Neither argued after that.
They both knew the other was right.
That afternoon, Aether finally finished the formation.
The final damaged connection was repaired.
The moment he activated it, the entire cave illuminated.
Origin Energy surged through the walls in a controlled cycle.

Aether looked toward the entrance.
The formation's concealment function was weak.
It couldn't hide the cave from a powerful cultivator.
But against ordinary beasts and weaker explorers, it would make the location considerably harder to detect.
“That's enough for now.”
Aria walked over.
“Enough?”
“For the first foundation.”
He placed his hand against the wall.
“We'll expand it later.”
Lyra stood.
“What are you planning?”
Aether looked deeper into the cave.
“Three areas.”
He pointed toward the central chamber.
“Cultivation area.”
Then toward the western passage.
“Training area.”
Finally, toward a large empty section near the rear.
“Living area.”
Aria crossed her arms.
“And where are you putting storage?”
Aether paused.
She smiled.
“See? You need me.”
“I was going to build it.”
“After you forgot it.”
Lyra laughed softly.
Aether looked at both of them.
“Fine. Storage area too.”
Nyx suddenly climbed onto a nearby rock and made a proud little sound.
Aether looked at her.
“And a place for Nyx.”
Nyx's golden eyes brightened.
Aria smiled.
“Looks like everyone has a place.”
Aether didn't answer immediately.
His gaze moved across the cave.
Everyone had a place.
That thought felt strangely significant.
He had spent so long thinking about survival, cultivation, enemies, mysteries, and the Origin System that he had never considered something this simple.
Building.
Not destroying.
Not escaping.
Building something that could remain.
That evening, Aether began working on Aria's spear.
The materials floated before him.
Starsteel.
Crimson Iron.
An Azure Core Fragment.
Several Origin Crystal Shards.
And the remains of Aria's old weapon.
He didn't melt everything together blindly.
Instead, he separated each material according to its properties.
The Starsteel would form the weapon's structural foundation.
The Crimson Iron would reinforce its durability.
The Azure Core would carry her Azure Spear Arts.
The Origin Crystals would stabilize the flow.
And the remains of her old spear...
Aether placed them at the center.
Aria watched quietly.
“You kept that?”
Aether glanced at her.
“You fought with it for years.”
“It was broken.”
“Doesn't mean it has no value.”
Aria's expression softened.
She looked away.
“Idiot.”
Aether pretended not to hear.
He activated his Origin Energy.
The materials began to fuse.
Not smoothly.
The Azure Core resisted.
Aether adjusted the energy flow.
The Starsteel responded.
He changed the temperature.
The Crimson Iron began merging.
The old spear fragments trembled.
Then—
A faint blue light spread through the entire weapon.
Aether's eyes sharpened.
The formation behind him reacted as well.

[Weapon Construction Successful]
Aether slowly removed the finished weapon from the energy field.
It was a long spear with a dark metallic shaft and a brilliant blue spearhead.
Thin silver lines ran along its length.
The weapon didn't look extravagant.
It looked refined.
Aria stepped closer.
Aether held it out.
“Try it.”
She took the spear.
The moment her fingers closed around the shaft, blue energy spread across the weapon.
The spear hummed.
Aria's eyes widened.
“It feels... lighter.”
“It's responding to your Origin Energy.”
She performed a simple thrust.
The air cracked.
A thin blue line shot forward and struck the stone wall.
Boom!
A shallow mark appeared.
Aria immediately stopped.
“That was without using much power.”
Aether nodded.
“Exactly.”
He studied the spear.
“It isn't finished.”
Aria looked at him.
“What do you mean?”
“It can evolve with you.”
Her expression changed.
“You made an evolving weapon?”
“Potentially.”
Aether looked at the weapon's system analysis.

[Current Grade: Unranked]
[Growth Potential: High]
[Primary Compatibility: Azure Spear Arts]
[Secondary Compatibility: Starforged Physique]
[Current Condition: Stable]
[Weapon Evolution: Available through user growth]
Aria smiled.
“Then I guess I have to become stronger.”
Aether nodded.
“You do.”
She tightened her grip.
“I will.”
There was no hesitation in her voice.
Aether believed her.
Later that night, the three cultivators sat around a small fire.
Nyx slept beside Aether.
Aria held her new spear across her knees.
Lyra looked toward the cave entrance.
“We should explore the zone eventually.”
Aether nodded.
“Of course.”
“The beasts outside are getting stronger.”
“I know.”
Aria looked at him.
“You've been avoiding them.”
“Not avoiding.”
Aether looked into the flames.
“Preparing.”
He had no intention of wasting the B-grade Origin Zone.
There were resources here.
Beasts.
Origin veins.
Ancient remnants.
Perhaps even inheritances.
But he also knew that constantly fighting without strengthening his foundation was pointless.
He needed to advance.
He needed to improve his physique.
He needed to understand the Executioner's Blade.
And eventually...
He needed to reach the point where the Origin Reclaimers couldn't simply send someone stronger and force him to retreat.
Aether opened his system.
[Origin Points: 188/200]
Twelve more.
He closed the panel.
Tomorrow, he would begin hunting.
Not recklessly.
Not for the sake of killing.
For resources.
For Origin Points.
For growth.
And this time, he wouldn't be leaving his newly built foundation behind.
The cave was only the beginning.
Aether looked around once more.
His eyes settled briefly on Aria, then Lyra, then Nyx.
For the first time, the thought came naturally.
This wasn't merely a place to return to anymore.
It was the beginning of something larger.
Something that could one day become his territory.
And Aether Draven had no intention of building small.
