Infinite Mana: I Am The Absolute Supreme

Chapter 106: Killing the monster with a single attack

  • Next Chapter

Victor calmly observed the new number displayed before him.

His combat power had increased several times over compared to before. Although Sovereigns possessed far purer elemental energy due to their mastery of elemental rules, the difference in raw strength between himself and the monster had now become overwhelming.

For the first time since this crisis began, Victor was no longer the weaker side.

Even so, he did not allow confidence to turn into arrogance.

Power alone did not determine victory. Countless battles throughout history had been decided by strange abilities, hidden trump cards, and unexpected circumstances. A single unique skill could overturn a battle regardless of numerical superiority.

"I only hope whatever ability they gain after becoming Sovereigns cannot bridge such a ridiculous gap in strength," Victor muttered quietly.

His expression quickly returned to normal.

There was no longer time to stand around analyzing statistics. Humanity’s fate would be decided within the next few minutes. Every second wasted now could cost countless lives.

Without another word, Victor disappeared.

Space distorted slightly around him before his figure completely vanished from existence.

.....

Deep within the dungeon, the gigantic cocoon surrounding Delila suddenly cracked apart.

Dark fragments scattered through the air like shattered glass before dissolving into pure darkness. A terrifying pressure erupted from her body, causing the entire underground space to tremble violently.

The walls cracked.

The ground shook.

Even the surrounding mana became unstable.

Slowly, Delila opened her eyes.

Endless darkness danced within them, a darkness so profound that it seemed capable of swallowing even light itself. Every trace of weakness had disappeared from her body.

Her breakthrough had succeeded.

She had officially entered the Sovereign Realm.

The vice-captain immediately stepped forward and bowed respectfully.

"Congratulations, Captain, on your successful breakthrough."

His expression soon became serious.

"However, an unexpected situation has developed outside during your cultivation."

Rather than concern, excitement appeared on Delila’s beautiful face.

"Oh?"

She slowly rose to her feet while a faint smile appeared on her lips.

"I am quite interested in discovering what kind of creature possesses such an aura."

Her gaze shifted toward the waiting Demonic Dragon soldiers.

The smile on her face gradually turned cold.

"You may begin your massacre."

The order instantly ignited the bloodlust every soldier had been suppressing for the past twelve hours.

Their crimson eyes glowed with savage excitement. To them, slaughtering weaker civilizations was one of life’s greatest pleasures.

"As you command, Captain!"

Their thunderous roar shook the dungeon.

The Demonic Dragons immediately rushed toward the surface like a tidal wave of destruction.

At nearly the same moment, the World System contacted Victor.

[Victor.]

[Delila has completed her breakthrough and is currently heading toward the battlefield you are approaching.]

[She has also ordered all her subordinates to begin exterminating the human race.]

Victor’s expression remained calm.

"What is her current combat power?"

The World System immediately responded.

[Combat Prowess: 10,000 Mega Star.]

[Unique Domain Ability: Absolute Darkness.]

[Within her domain, all enemies will instantly lose their five senses and divine senses.]

Victor quietly listened.

A faint smile soon appeared on his face.

His confidence did not waver in the slightest.

"Let them come."

"I am ready."

Without wasting another second, Victor established a mental connection with his avatar.

"Intercept every Demonic Dragon that leaves the dungeon."

"Do not allow a single one of them to reach humanity’s cities."

The avatar immediately accepted the order.

Moments later, it appeared below Aurora City’s dungeon.

Unlike Victor’s real body, the avatar resembled a living shadow made entirely of mana. Its featureless figure stood silently before the dungeon entrance like an executioner waiting for prey.

It remained motionless.

Patiently waiting for the Demonic Dragons to emerge.

Meanwhile, Victor used teleportation and arrived near an abandoned city located beside one of humanity’s most populated regions.

Far in the distance, Charybdis was approaching at nearly one hundred times the speed of sound. Even from thousands of kilometers away, its terrifying aura could already be felt spreading across the land.

Victor stood calmly amidst the ruins.

At that exact moment, the World System activated a global broadcast.

Every screen.

Every communication device.

Every city.

The entire human race watched the battlefield unfold in real time.

This was humanity’s final fight for survival.

If Victor lost today, humanity would cease to exist.

"ROOOOAAARRRR!"

A deafening roar suddenly echoed across the planet.

The sound resembled the roar of a Tyrannosaurus Rex amplified to an apocalyptic scale. It shook mountains, shattered clouds, and sent waves of pressure through the souls of every living being who heard it.

Victor slowly took a deep breath.

Although he was theoretically stronger than Charybdis, battles were rarely decided through raw power alone.

Abilities.

Domains.

Bloodlines.

Combat experience.

Any of these could completely change the outcome.

Therefore, he refused to underestimate his opponent.

Especially when Delila herself was also approaching the battlefield.

BOOM!

The entire city behind Victor shook violently.

Something enormous crashed onto the ground before him.

Dust and debris exploded into the sky.

When the smoke cleared, Victor found himself staring directly into a pair of enormous crimson eyes.

The monstrous creature towered above the city like a living natural disaster.

Victor frowned.

"This thing has been modified or something."

"It should only be a Sovereign-level cosmic creature. Why does its aura feel so terrifying?"

Despite sensing that its actual combat power was far below his own, the aura of death and decay surrounding it was far more horrifying than he had imagined.

A sense of danger instinctively rose within him.

"System."

"Tell me exactly how powerful this bastard is."

The System immediately responded.

[Ding! The Heavenly Demons have destroyed its rationality and greatly amplified its destructive capabilities.]

[Within its Decay Domain, even opponents twenty times stronger than it can potentially be killed.]

Victor narrowed his eyes.

As expected.

Something had indeed been altered.

Far away from the battlefield, Delila had already arrived.

However, she did not reveal herself immediately.

Instead, she concealed her presence while observing the confrontation from afar.

Through a communication crystal, she contacted her superior.

"President, that’s a Charybdis."

"What should I do? Something feels wrong about it."

On the Demonic Dragon homeworld, the president watched the battlefield through a projection.

The moment he saw Charybdis, a strange feeling appeared in his heart.

Something was definitely wrong.

Unfortunately, he could not determine exactly what.

"Wait and observe."

"Let us see how the native handles it first."

Delila nodded.

That was already her intention.

Victor shifted his gaze back toward Charybdis.

"Let’s finish this as quickly as possible."

A prolonged battle was unacceptable.

The city behind him contained millions of people.

One stray attack could erase everything.

Raising his hand, Victor activated his power.

"Domain of Light."

A tiny golden domain appeared above his palm.

Within moments, it expanded rapidly.

The surrounding world was instantly engulfed by endless radiance.

Charybdis immediately sensed danger.

Although it had lost its rationality, its instincts remained intact.

Every instinct in its body screamed that death was approaching.

Unfortunately, it was already too late.

The Domain of Light completely enclosed the battlefield.

"ROOOOAAARRR!"

Charybdis unleashed its Decay Domain.

Endless black energy erupted outward like a tsunami capable of rotting reality itself.

Victor responded immediately.

"Judgment Ray."

His mythical-grade light spell activated.

BOOOOM!

A tremendous pillar of golden plasma exploded from his body.

However, Victor was not finished.

He infused the spell with Chaos.

The golden plasma instantly transformed into a magnificent purple radiance.

Its power surged dramatically.

The surrounding space shattered under the pressure.

BOOOOOOM!

The two cataclysmic forces collided.

Decay and Judgment.

Darkness and Light.

Destruction and Annihilation.

The collision lasted only a fraction of a second.

Victor was simply too strong.

The Decay Domain was instantly erased.

The Chaos-infused Judgment continued forward without slowing down.

Charybdis did not even have time to react.

The purple plasma engulfed its body.

Then—

Nothing remained.

The colossal monster was completely vaporized.

The creature responsible for destroying two previous human civilizations had been erased from existence by a single attack.

Silence fell across the battlefield.

Victor blinked.

"What the..."

For the first time, he looked genuinely shocked.

[Ding! You have killed a Grade 9 Cosmic Monster.]

[You have gained 10,000,000 Evolution Points.]

Victor stared at the notification.

"Damn."

"All that hype and it died in one hit?"

"I am really that awesome now?"

He was about to celebrate when another notification suddenly appeared.

[Ding! The Heavenly Demon Bloodline inside your body is awakening.]

[Would you like me to suppress it?]

Victor’s smile immediately froze.

Then he remembered.

The Heavenly Demons had put Charybdis as a trial.

Whoever killed it would become one of them. And now that he killed it, his bloodline was about to awaken.

But a new notification appeared.

[Ding! You may sacrifice the Grade 8 Heavenly Demon Bloodline within your body.]

[Estimated Reward: 10 Trillion+ Evolution Points.]

[Proceed?]

For several seconds, Victor remained silent.

Then he burst into laughter.

"Hahahahaha!"

"Why are you even asking such a stupid question?"

"Give me the points."

"I have much better things to do than become some Heavenly Demon."

The System immediately complied.

[Ding! Heavenly Demon Bloodline sacrificed.]

[Ding! You have gained 11.5 Trillion Evolution Points.]

Victor’s eyes widened.

Even he was stunned by the amount.

With that many Evolution Points, countless possibilities suddenly opened before him.

Far beyond the mortal universe, beyond countless star domains that were continuously being born and destroyed, a gigantic golden barrier separated two realities.

On the opposite side existed a higher realm.

A realm inhabited by gods.

Within the Heavenly Demon Domain, a handsome middle-aged man slowly opened his eyes.

His appearance was ordinary.

His aura resembled that of a normal human.

Yet his existence alone seemed capable of suppressing endless realities.

A trace of confusion appeared on his face.

"Hm?"

"A Calamity has been killed."

"But I do not sense a new awakening."

"What happened?"

His gaze pierced countless worlds.

Moments later, he spoke.

"Yehan. Go to the mortal realm and find out what happened there."

A figure instantly appeared before him.

"As you wish, my Lord."

The figure vanished before receiving further instructions.

The Heavenly Demon Lord watched the distant mortal realms in silence.

Something unexpected had happened.

And he intended to discover what it was.

Back on Ethereum, Victor retracted his domain.

Then he slowly turned toward a distant mountain range.

A smile appeared on his face.

"How long are you planning to hide? Are you not going to come out?"

The air distorted.

Moments later, Delila emerged from concealment.

She carried herself with calm elegance, completely unfazed by the death of Charybdis.

Her dark eyes studied Victor carefully.

Then she spoke.

"You killed the monster. You have impressive potential."

A faint smile appeared on her lips.

"I am willing to offer you a chance. Join the Demonic Dragons. If you become one of us, I will allow you to live."

Although Victor had just killed a Sovereign-level monster within a short time, Delila’s confidence remained absolute.

In her eyes, Victor was merely an unusually talented native.

Nothing more.
