Unfortunately for the agent, the president had too much on his plate to pay closer attention to the Duskreavers at this time of war.

They were an unexpected case and the least of his priorities regardless, the best President Cain could do was to assign a special task force to investigate what seemed to be the problem with this powerful family.

If he recalled correctly, these guys were the spawn of the Asura King, and this bloodline’s special trait came to mind...

Asura body...

A family line of bred warriors, it was said each member could become invincible by activating their Asura bodies.

They became literally uncontested in close combat exchanges, dominating their foes with an unfathomable combat sense along with a superior physique.

President Cain shook his head with a sigh, ’Forget it, if those guys are in trouble that even they couldn’t resolve, I doubt I could be of any help, and besides...’

He straightened his back, "I have more than enough on my plate."

And as spawn of a progenitor-level figure, he doubted their ancestors hadn’t left them some extraordinary means...

With that he shelved any further thoughts, as the only Duskreaver that deserved his attention at the moment was none other than Seth...

And like that, time passed, hours turned into days.

And by the fifth day, Elaine and Lucas, two of the division’s leaders, had made a full recovery.

The two were discharged and summoned by the president to give their accounts.

And even that didn’t give President Cain enough lead to understand what happened to Seth.

And besides he still couldn’t come to a conclusion about what could be behind the zone’s sudden evolution.

This was a first...

He couldn’t bear to hold the two for long, so he dismissed them, allowing them to go get their long-deserved rest.

They also did lose a fellow captain after all, and Elaine would keep being worried sick till the rest of her team came to.

The moment the two left, the president’s mind drifted towards the shackled realm group, and then towards the conversation he had with Trisha Moon two days ago...

"What do you mean she’s the cause of all the deaths?!" the president had asked, his head whipping towards Trisha’s frame.

Trisha’s eyes stared blankly at Zoan’s peaceful yet unconscious frames encased in a recovery capsule.

And she sighed, though she couldn’t perceive the physical realm with her eyes, she could still see the resulting mass of misfortune churning above Zoan’s head.

"She’s the dark moon, she brings chaos to all..." Trisha repeated, her glossy eyes suddenly gaining a hint of focus as she continued.

"Her presence negated Seth’s immense fortune, of which I don’t even understand how that is possible, but it caused the perilous situation they ended up in."

The president frowned, "So you’re saying if she wasn’t there that wouldn’t have happened, and they would all still be fine?"

Trisha shook her head, her moon-silver locks fluttering a bit, her lips pressing together for a second as she gathered a solid reply before speaking.

"There is no what if, sir... she was there and she brought misfortune with her, I can only tell you the reality I see and not the one I can’t perceive."

With that she went quiet, and the president silently comprehended what she meant.

His brows furrowed, then he asked all of a sudden, "Wait, the report said she was stranded in the sea since before the origin descent... if she has said misfortune, shouldn’t her group be dead?"

Trisha began to shake her head as the president spoke, "You don’t understand and you’re not to blame, I can’t either, the thing is that forces like Karmic fortune transcend time and space."

Trisha sighed. "They were probably only alive because it was their misfortune to wander into that island, to end up here, the only reason they live is because that is their misfortune..."

The atmosphere grew grim, as the president looked over towards Zoan, a troubled kid with mental issues and an ability that preyed on her sanity also.

As if that wasn’t enough, she was a plague of misfortune.

The president scowled, "Are we..." He paused, gesturing towards Zoan’s unconscious frame before adding, "You know? Safe?"

Trisha’s gaze slowly shifted upwards, focusing on the brilliant colossal mass of karmic fortune glittering in gold.

Weighing its boundless mass almost emulating that of a sun and suppressing the storm of black brewing above Zoan.

"No need, Seth’s fortune is with us..." she assured, then her brow creased.

Wait but that didn’t make sense, how could her misfortune affect him then?

Seth’s providence was enough to suppress her by any margin, after all, as much as they were revered, moons could never compete with a star.

’Could it be the zone?’ she wondered with a wince, if that was true then...

Corruption zones are currently being treated too lightly...

Alas, she couldn’t look into the past, so she wouldn’t understand what had happened.

President Cain sighed, "it seems we will keep as is for now till we know how to deal with her situation..."

Trisha nodded in agreement, Zoan was more of a threat than an asset.

They couldn’t let her go and cause more mayhem, as she was too unstable, and neutralizing her didn’t sit right either.

The president’s choice of stalling till they had means was the best one...

’As for the rest of her crew we need to keep a good eye on them.’

Once more days passed, completing a week and blending into two.

By midway through the third week, Brandon came to, 34 hours later Jack followed not that far behind.

But Uriel and Seth still showed no sign of response...

Both working with a foggy mind, their intellect slowly returning over time, their minds piecing themselves back together bit by bit.

It wasn’t until another week had passed that the two regained the ability to speak fluently.

The president tried getting some information once they were okay, only to realize the two didn’t have any memory of the whole thing.

Both explained the last thing they remembered was sprinting with all their might towards the core to reinforce Seth.

Anything further from there was submerged in a thick, foggy mist suppressing their memories.

Alas there was still no lead as to what put these four in such a state.

And with Seth still remaining in a comatose-like state, he was their only hope towards getting this information.
