Seth’s heart skipped a beat, his frame faltering unsteadily for a second, not from fear but from shock.

Where did this newcomer come from?

He hadn’t sensed the beast at all in any way, shape, or form, and that was meant to be impossible!

His senses were so sharp he could sense Ash waking from a slumber thousands of miles away, and this newcomer had a towering presence above his current foes.

A dragon on the level of Ash had sneaked up on him?

Plus there was the dragon’s size, nothing was making sense.

Before Seth could make any further calculations, the wind shifted, Seth winced sensing what was coming.

A tail whip!

He opened up his palm ready to resummon his spear, and tear through the incoming limb.

But before the blade could even fully materialize... Bzzzt!

A glow coated the hulking dragon’s frame, as though being fed by the flames, the dragon’s speed ignited faster than Seth could react!

Slamming heavily against the whipping limb, his own momentum was used against him, a sickening crunch ringing loud, his body curving by the ribs from the heavy impact.

Whipped back into the midst of the crazed horde, the newcomer’s scales felt as tough as a steel wall.

Seth flipped, blood leaking from his lips, all the air evacuating his enlarged lungs, as his vision went blurry red.

His frame rolled uncontrollably, his wings slacked out of grip, his ribs destroyed and his left arm and the entire clavicle reduced to a shredded mess.

A crazed dragon saw no reason to hesitate, its maws parting wide, chomping on Seth whole in one go.

In the far distance, Ignis coiled in the air, its eyes glowing coldly, as it glanced at its damaged tail which was a bloodied mess.

Atherion really wasn’t kidding to think a creature so small could reduce its tail to such blood-leaking pulp on impact.

Ignis could only imagine how extremely sturdy its defence had to be.

Such a human really had to die, her eyes glowed bright as in the distance a storm of flames rolled in, cloaking a hulking silhouette.... Blaze.

"Did you get it?" Blaze’s bold voice rolled in like thunder.

Ignis’s head bobbed... "But it isn’t over."

The dragon had barely voiced this when... Boom!

Bursting into a mist of blood and gore was the dragon who had swallowed Seth.

As his towering presence bled into reality, both dragons glanced at one another grimly, this human might be tiny relative to the dragons.

But its presence was surely beyond what any one of the two could boldly say they could handle.

The dragons felt shock and wary, what was this human?

One second ago they saw it using a dragon’s breath, and now its entire frame was cloaked in glistening dark obsidian scales.

Was this what humans were supposed to look like?

Honestly the two couldn’t be sure, they had spent mostly all their lives in the pocket dimensions, hiding away till the origin arrived.

And even then they still hadn’t stepped outside not once, in fact aside from word of mouth and a few bloodline memories they had no idea what anything non-flame dragon was supposed to look like.

Well, they did, but couldn’t be sure... so now staring at Seth, they were quite confused.

"Will we really have to do as brother recommended?" Ignis worriedly growled.

All while Blaze silently examined Seth from afar with slight interest and wariness.

"No rush... this is the Reverse Scale we’re talking about, even if the gold bloodline is all-powerful, I doubt it will be able to rid us of the effects of madness as easily as brother implied."

Ignis nodded, it was settled, both would stay sane till they had no choice, till then their mission was clear.

Just as Seth wasn’t focused on facing the dragon, their job wasn’t to kill him but to stall.

Buy enough time till the ritual was finalized, then after that, this human shouldn’t pose much of a challenge.

Both dragons glanced at each other once more and nodded, lunging forwards towards the storm of essence which originated from Seth.

...

Hissing from the crackling pain of his bones piecing themselves together from scratch, Seth was damaged heavily.

A few organs had been ruptured and his spine had snapped, making him lose control over everything neck down.

Fortunately his body was piecing itself together, but even that would take time.

And his enemies... his eyes flickering, locking on the two looming, not to mention the other berserk dragons rushing his way.

These guys would not allow him the reprieve he needed...

Since that was the case he had to stall by all means...

His eyes glowed as he settled on an option.

By this point Seth had come to understand how his current state of power worked.

It wasn’t that his gene skills forming the skill chain were inaccessible, it was that the filter for activating them had changed.

That brief charge of essence every being had to undergo to activate a gene skill had been eliminated.

Instead, the process of activation had been readjusted, he just had to will what he wanted and the skills would respond like a limb.

His eyes glowed, as stars ignited bright from the depths of his soul...

Absolute Weapon Resonance had been activated!

Unable to move, he simply summoned a divine weapon from his assets.

[Divine Weapon: Chronicles Of A Fallen God! has been equipped!]

From the depths of his soul another star blazed to life, Force Embodiment!

Thick pulses of essence condensed and transitioned into divine energy, tendrils of it peeking out of his chest.

The very presence of this transcendent force made the blistering atmosphere go cold.

In the far distance, Atherion’s head whipped towards the direction of the battle, its heart quivering from fright.

There it was, the same power the human used to reduce its troops into nothing.

This monstrous force Atherion knew not what it was, and it made it even more fearful and wary.

Because it was thought to fear the unknown.

Turning back towards the temple, "just a little more time... that’s all we need." The dragon whispered.

....

Back on the battlefield, all approaching dragons came to a fearful halt as a pulse of divine energy washed through them all.

Even the berserk beasts who knew fear, unable to fight the instinctive reaction the dangerous pulse provoked.

A glowing book of gold hovered before Seth within the storm of essence.

Charged with divine energy, the book rattled and burst open, flipping uncontrollably as a golden glow burst outwards.

The final pages settled open, showing the depicted image of a glowing knight goddess.

Glowing with divinity as her image was carved into reality, the process too blinding for the mortal eyes to behold.

The dragons squinting hard as the blinding glare pricked against their eyes and scales drawing blood.

Within seconds a figure had been summoned carrying a presence of transcendence.

A goddess knight, her eyes glowed standing in the air anchored to the sky by wings of gold, she bowed towards Seth.

"Greetings Master..."
