Doyle crawled low, on the blistering hot blackened earth of the flaming plane.

Honestly he didn’t even know how a rock could withstand such temperatures and still remain solid.

Whatever it was it had to be a bitch, he cursed, as the heat crawled through the seams of his armour and fried his skin.

He could only grit his teeth from pain, and push on crawling low, as he led his units forward as they tried to evade the hovering dragon scouts.

Doyle Munroe, a member of the alpha team, was also the appointed leader of the team Seth carried with him on this journey.

And now they were in a time crunch to be in place before Seth finished his assault. If they missed this crucial timing to shred through the enemy forces, defeating them would be almost ten times harder.

Especially if they allowed the dragons to cast away the shadow divinity force cast on their souls.

And that couldn’t be allowed to happen. Just as Doyle was having this thought... BOOOM!!

A trail of explosions lit across the sky, as a projectile streaked hot zipping straight at the dragons in the distance.

Panicked roars boomed from the distance as the dragons saw Seth looming and burst into action.

Unlike their leader, they hadn’t seen the fate of the vanguards, they didn’t even know that the vanguard team had been wiped out, if they did they’d be shitting their pants.

But as they say ignorance is bliss, a wave of dragon elites rose, maws wide as their wings torqued and anchored them into the sky.

Their throats smoldered with waves of flaming red, as their flame cores brewed, and their chest heaved.

All while the enemy approached fearlessly, their flame lined red through the trail of explosions left in their wake, till it abruptly began to glow white.

The absurdly hot atmosphere suddenly went chill... no, not chill, there were still flames, gold embers flickering in the air radiating a soothing warmth.

A flame that embraced allies and fried the enemies, the dragons writhed, as a bow bloomed in the sky, glowing with glory, standing as more of an attraction than its wielder.

Seth’s eyes pulsed, and Doyle’s heart skipped a beat as he signaled his team to take cover.

The lights of the entire plane dimmed, as the glare of astral white bathed all with its pristine glare.

The bow string thrummed, as a pair of thumb and index finger pulled the bow as it tilted into a canted form.

A scary force ramped, the quakes of its force as it charged brought chills down Doyle’s spine.

He couldn’t help but wonder, "is... is the boss truly a divine being?"

What choice did he have but to believe so? With all the ridiculous feats Seth had accomplished, it had truly left them no choice but to label him as divine.

A whisper shook the air, flickering past the ears of all in sight... "Star Strike."

The tone was soft and calm, almost relaxed even, but what followed was anything but.

Reality went still, everything fixed in place, with consciousness in full function.

And the dragons could only stare frozen in both time and space, locked in despair and trapped in their minds.

The arrow swallowed distance like it was nothing, reality unraveling with its wake, as an illusion cloaked the area.

The starry void, cold, dark, windless, yet!

The dragons despaired, their frames quivering but still unable to resist the spell, remaining locked, as a blinding glare tore downwards, it was a fucking literal star!

’The fuck? The boss really meant business when he called it star strike.’ Doyle commented inwardly as he watched closely with glowing eyes "The Boss Is Mighty" he chanted silently cheering Seth while hiding under cover.

Trapped and helpless, unable to roar in fear or snarl with hate, the dragon remained fixed in place against their own wills, unflinchingly as a colossal flame sphere rammed through their forces.

The astral flames swallowed all in its wake, both the crimson flames of the plain and the scorched earth that couldn’t resist its intensity.

The dragons had a huge smoldering hole torn right into their formation.

Unable to resist as the flame tore straight through them, then suddenly folded space and vanished.

The dragons couldn’t understand but the humans could... Like the first one, Seth’s divine attacks never cared about distance.

At another front, the dragons were suddenly swallowed by a domain of starry stars, startled and confused but only to find out they were locked in place.

When a sudden glare seeped through space, a freaking star suddenly smashing right through their troops from absolutely nowhere!

All targeted fronts were plagued by Seth’s star strike, claiming the lives of more than a few hundred dragons in a single go.

One could only lament, for if this was the origin realm, how bloated would his stats be by now?

Not to talk about the loot...

Sigh! Seth let out a pained sigh, the heartache even stinging harsher than the physical backlash he was suffering.

Worst thing was that his attack was so strong it practically reduced the dragons to minuscule atoms, leaving no intact corpse hence no profit from this cost.

He shook his head with a sigh as he slowly alighted to the ground, the moment his feet made contact, reality cracked right into place, the toxic wind blasting out and the plain quaking in a delayed reaction from the attack.

The dragon forces were ravaged by the aftermath, winds of raging explosions swallowing them whole, tearing through their forces and throwing them into disarray.

While the dragons were swallowed by the chaos of the aftermath, the presence of divine energy still cast a dark shadow on their beastly side.

The humans burst into action, Doyle leading his team forward, his hands flipping out a rod that suddenly hummed and bloomed with light, condensing into an energy saber.

Wind coiling round his frame, as he whisked forward almost weightlessly, as he rode the gales launching himself right at his first prey.

Eyes glowing, as his suit hummed with power, allowing his movements to be smoother and efficient.

The rest of the unit’s evolvers bore down with their weapons swinging, tearing through the dragon forces like the dragons were made of porcelain.

Seth stood on high ground observing the attack, and nodded to himself, if the other units were doing as well as this, then maybe these dragon forces wouldn’t be so tough to overcome after all...
