Infinite Disasters: I Hoarded My Way to Godhood

Chapter 503: Demon God’s Remains?

  • Next Chapter

This was bad news.

Very bad.

“Go back,” Seraphina Sullivan said without hesitation, immediately contacting Scavenger’s Farm.

“Right now!”

Two beams of light flashed, and Flora Sullivan and Tubbs vanished on the spot.

The restless Aura lingering in the air slowly dissipated. Seraphina Sullivan leaned against a rock, closing her eyes to steady her breathing.

‘This is trouble.’

If even her summons couldn’t function properly in this dungeon, her combat effectiveness would be severely reduced.

Flora’s Ability and Tubbs’s Flame were both crucial parts of her fighting force.

With those two cards temporarily out of play, she would have to be even more careful.

She took a deep breath, opened her eyes, and pulled up the system panel.

‘First, the quests.’

…

[Current Dungeon: Demonic Apocalypse]

[Main Quest] (Required)

· Main Quest 1: Survive in the Demonic Dungeon for 30 days (0/30)

· Main Quest 2: Rescue the Native People in the Demonic Dungeon (0/100)

[Quest Description: Complete the two main quests above to return to the real world.]

[Side Quest] (Optional)

· Side Quest: Purify the Demonic Dungeon. Find the Demon God’s remains and completely cleanse them.

[Quest Reward: Increase Player Level by one.]

…

Seraphina Sullivan’s eyes slowly swept across the panel, her alarm growing with every word she read.

Survive for 30 days.

In the last Trial Dungeon, the survival time was only about a week.

Now it had been stretched to a full month.

Surviving for a month in a world where you could be attacked by Demonic Creatures at any moment—the difficulty had more than doubled.

But that wasn’t even the trickiest part.

Her gaze fell upon the second main quest.

Rescue 100 Native People.

‘Native People… that must refer to the original human survivors of this dungeon world.’

She had to find them, protect them, and keep them alive.

One hundred of them.

And she was just one person.

‘No, wait. If I can find other Players in this dungeon, maybe we can work together.’

‘But that’s assuming those Players can be trusted.’

‘And where are the Native People even located?’

‘What’s their situation now?’

‘How many are still alive?’

‘How am I supposed to find them?’

Each question weighed on Seraphina Sullivan’s mind like a giant boulder.

However, when her gaze fell on the side quest, all those thoughts were shattered.

“The Demon God’s remains?”

She repeated in a low voice, her pupils constricting slightly.

“A Divine being… has fallen?”

The words on the system panel were cold and certain, leaving no room for jokes.

The Demon God’s remains.

Cleanse the Demon God’s remains.

Seraphina Sullivan’s breath caught for a moment.

She had seen a Divine being’s Beloved, felt a Divine being’s Power, and even vaguely glimpsed the tip of the iceberg of what a Divine being was in a past dungeon.

Those existences were powerful beyond comprehension, like life-forms from a higher dimension.

And now, the system was telling her that a Divine being—a Demon God—had fallen in this dungeon world.

And its remains were still here.

Moreover, they were likely the very source of this dungeon’s Demonization.

“Could it be…” Seraphina Sullivan muttered to herself. “Is the reason for this world’s Demonization the fall of the Demon God?”

A Divine being falls, and its residual Energy pollutes the entire world.

Plants grow wildly, animals lose their minds, and all living things are eroded by that furious Power—

‘That would explain it.’

But the questions that followed were—

Why did the Demon God fall?

Who killed it?

Where are the remains?

What will I encounter while cleansing the remains?

Seraphina Sullivan leaned against the rock, closed her eyes, and let her thoughts churn.

After a long while, she opened her eyes, the calm having returned to their depths.

Fear wouldn’t solve anything. What she needed was information, a plan, and a way to survive.

She now knew a few things:

First, this dungeon was extremely dangerous, with a survival difficulty far greater than before.

Second, she needed to find and protect one hundred Native People.

Third, the source of the world’s Demonization was likely the Demon God’s remains.

Fourth—and most importantly—the side quest’s reward was a one-level increase to her Player Level.

A level up.

In the Player system, your Level was everything.

Higher stats, stronger Skills, more capital for survival.

This reward was worth the risk.

Seraphina Sullivan stood up, her gaze falling on the dilapidated school building.

Ashworth No. 4 Middle School.

If there were any human survivors in this city, a place like a school would likely be one of their gathering points.

Sturdy buildings, a wide field of view, and a playground that could be used for planting—in an apocalypse, schools were often converted into shelters.

‘It’s worth investigating.’

She tightened her grip on the Magic Scissors in her hand, took a deep breath, and started walking toward the school.

Behind her, the dense rainforest rustled, and countless unseen eyes watched her back from the shadows.

But she didn’t look back.

After finding a relatively safe classroom, Seraphina Sullivan didn’t hesitate.

She locked the door from the inside, barricaded the entrance with a few desks, then closed her eyes and contacted Scavenger’s Farm.

The next second, she vanished on the spot.

…

Inside Scavenger’s Farm, the familiar scene allowed her tense nerves to relax slightly.

But the relief was fleeting.

She walked quickly toward Flora’s living quarters—the giant walk-in freezer room she had converted into a “Winter Wonderland.”

Before she even got close, she heard a rustling sound coming from inside.

Pushing the door open, Seraphina Sullivan froze.

Inside the freezer, the once-neatly stacked food reserves were now in complete disarray.

Flora was in her true form. The giant Cannibal Flower’s head swayed in mid-air, the Sharp Teeth on the edges of its petals snapping open and shut maniacally as it devoured one piece of frozen meat after another.

“CRUNCH—CRUNCH—CRUNCH—”

The sound of chewing was as intense as a battle.

Flora Sullivan’s human form was sprawled next to the flower’s head, her face flushed and her eyes glazed over. She clutched a large handful of jerky, her movements mechanical and frantic as she stuffed it into her mouth.

“Flora?”

Seraphina Sullivan called out tentatively.

Flora Sullivan snapped her head up. A red light flickered in her amber eyes, but it subsided slightly when she saw it was Seraphina Sullivan.

Her mouth was stuffed with food, and she mumbled indistinctly:

“M-Master… I’m so hungry… I really want to bite something… It feels better when I bite things…”

After speaking, she lowered her head and went back to eating frantically.

Seraphina Sullivan fell silent.

‘So her rage turned into appetite?’

‘Well, it’s better than her going out and biting people randomly.’

She quietly backed out of the freezer room, gently closed the door, and decided not to disturb Flora’s “binge-eating therapy” for now.

Next up was Tubbs.

Seraphina Sullivan walked toward Tubbs and Chubbs’s nest.

It was a cozy little nest in the corner of the farm, made of straw and cloth. Before she got close, she heard a strange sound.

CLUCK CLUCK CLUCK—

BOK BOK BOK—

‘Huh?’

Seraphina Sullivan paused, her brow furrowing slightly.

She peeked her head around the corner and glanced into the nest.

Then she immediately snapped her gaze back.

Tubbs, the Flame Chicken, was currently on top of Chubbs, and the two chickens’ movements were… well, very indecent.

Chubbs’s round eyes were half-closed, looking both pained and pleased.

Tubbs, on the other hand, wore a smug “I’m the king of the world” expression. The feathers on his neck were all puffed out, as if he had just accomplished some great feat.

Seraphina Sullivan: “…”

‘So, for Tubbs, the emotion of rage transformed into… the urge to reproduce?’

She turned and walked away, her face expressionless.

‘Nothing to see here.’

‘Those two chickens are doing just fine.’
